We are seeking to recruit an individual, educated to degree level (or equivalent), to join a small team which provides comprehensive governance across the range of Council committees as well as supporting the delivery of the scrutiny function. You will have experience of working in a public sector environment and a thorough understanding of local government services and functions.
PURCHASING SUPERVISOR
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to lead and support elected Members with reviews set up by the Council’s Overview and Scrutiny Committee. This will include carrying out research, analysing and presenting data, report writing and presentation at meetings, agenda and minute production. Excellent communication and influencing skills together with effective project management techniques are required to succeed in this challenging role.
We require a part time (3 days a week, 22.5 hours) purchasing supervisor to cover for maternity leave. Pay is competitive and dependent on experience.
Affordable Housing Officer £17,980 - £21,067 per annum
To assist in the process of enabling new affordable housing, primarily in advising and negotiating with housing developers and secondly in supporting community-led initiatives, including the application and development of innovative approaches to affordable housing provision. We are looking for a suitably qualified individual with a minimum of 2 years work experience in the housing or planning sectors. Experience of section 106 agreements for affordable housing (Town and Country Planning Act 1990) is desirable.

Low Sizergh Barn is a thriving farm shop and tearoom uniquely located in a 17th century Westmorland barn on a working dairy farm.
Main responsibility: to ensure that products are in stock in a timely manner and to optimise stock levels.
