MODERN GRINDING SOLUTIONS FOR MODERN MOBILITY CONCEPTS Shuttle automation for supply and removal of parts
One of the main characteristics of modern mobility concepts is that they blur or even eliminate borders to develop new ideas for the future of mobility.

Today’s modern transmissions are smaller and lighter than they were in the past, but they are still required to have more gears – which means more gear wheels and gear components. Our new EMAG grinding systems are optimized to machine these and other modern powertrain and engine components – while still maximizing their flexibility.
Internal grinding spindle 12-tool turret for (hard) turning tools (optional Lifetool turret) NC controller
When you work with EMAG, you’ll have access to our engineers throughout the design process, and with their experience we can ensure maximum component quality, minimized cycle times and the lowest cost per piece. The VLC 200 GT is a great example of this with its flexible machining area and the ability to turn and grind on one machine.

EMAG NEWS
Short, flat surfaces are typically turned to finish, while geometric elements with high quality requirements (ex. for ripple) can be pre-turned and ground. The combination machining available on this system allows tools to be customized to fit the specific machining tasks, allowing us to easily achieve surface values with an average peak-to-valley height Rz of less than 1.6 µm.

VL 1 TWIN – THE PERFECT PRODUCTION PROCESS FOR PLANETARY GEARS, SUN GEARS, CAMS AND MORE! If you combine the productive TWIN approach with the simple to link TrackMotion automation system, you get the VL 1 TWIN line – one of the most compact, productive manufacturing solutions on the market for chucked parts with a maximum diameter of 3 in.

The VL 1 TWIN line allows two components to be machined, on two sides in OP 10 / OP 10 and OP 20 / OP 02, minimizing cycle times to under 20 seconds for the entire process. With the overall low cost of the machine and the minimized cycle times, this system can significantly reduce the cost per piece.

EMAG NEWS
The two components are removed from the conveyor belt by the pick-up spindles (9.9 kW / 136 Nm), transported to the machining area and machined simultaneously in one clamping operation. The diameter and length (X / Y direction) of the two components can be corrected independently of each other – a special feature of the VL 1 TWIN.
AUTOMATION INCLUDED
The TrackMotion automation system not only easily links multiple machines, but also replaces changers and conveyor belts. With their three-dimensional design, stacker pallets in the parts storage area provide a place to store a large number of workpieces, ensuring maximum autonomy.

VM 9: TURNING CENTER FOR LARGE CHUCKED PARTS The VM 9 vertical turning center was designed to precisely and efficiently manufacture individual parts or small production runs for a variety of parts. Depending on the desired tool interface (BMT or VDI), the tool turret features eight or 12 different tool positions, which can be equipped with driven tools to perform additional operations, such as drilling. Also included is an integrated part probe which guarantees quality and reliability (first part = good part). These features ensure that the VM 9 is well equipped to achieve a wide variety of production tasks.
