On the 21st of January, Mediclinic Dubai Mall welcomed residents for a complimentary health and wellness checkup. Doctors, Dietitians and Skincare experts were available on site for a complete and holistic health overview.

Leak-free Fixtures

The plumbing fixtures supplied and installed in Burj Khalifa are meant to withstand a surge of low and high pressure owing to the design of the demand-based centralized water distribution system.

The standard operating pressure plumbing fixtures available in the market are not designed to withstand such pressure surges and are more likely to fail. The root cause of many water leak incidents in Burj Khalifa was found to be the use of normal plumbing fixtures.

The operating water pressure in Burj Khalifa is between 4.5 bar and 7 bar; hence it is recommended to use only the fixtures that have a pressure rating in this range. We encourage our valued residents to understand the critical nature of the issue and seek your necessary cooperation in ensuring the safety of the community.

At Burj Khalifa, we want to ensure that all areas remain pest free all year round.

To safeguard your apartment and ensure you and your family live comfortably, we conduct inspection and treatment twice a year. As a precaution, here are some steps in keeping your home pest free.

Pests will eat just about anything, so the best thing to do is to prevent easy access to food by:

• Sealing up boxes and bags of food. Cockroaches love cardboard boxes and can climb into them with ease.

• Storing open food such as cereal, flour or sugar in plastic bags or containers.

• Cleaning up spills and leftover crumbs immediately. Pests love food left out in the open.

• Cleaning dirty dishes right away. Pests want whatever is left of your meals.

• Keeping a tight lid on trash and emptying it often. It may be trash to you, but pests see it as dinner.

• Ensure that the drainage in your bathroom is regularly cleaned with hot water.

Facts for Your Safety

Fire safety and speed of evacuation are prime factors in the design of Burj Khalifa. For this purpose, there are several safety measures in place. Concrete surrounds all stairwells and the building service and fireman's elevator (the world's highest service elevator) has a capacity of 5,500 kg. What's more, since people can't reasonably be expected to walk down 160 floors, there are presurrised, air-conditioned refuge areas located approximately every 25 floors.
