responsible for Frédéric Chopin’s celebrity.
They possess that grand melodic quality,
taken to its extreme, that forms the basis of
all the charm and seduction of his
inspiration. The music of this composer –
who died prematurely at the age of 39 –
remains some of the most widely performed
of the romantic repertoire today.
