AN EL PASO COUNTY PUBLICATION

Strengthening Community Trust One Cup at a Time El Paso County recently hosted several Café Conversations with Commissioners, providing residents with the opportunity to meet their elected leaders in a casual setting. Held at local coffee shops across the County, these gatherings allowed community members to ask questions, share ideas, and hear updates on County programs and services. In addition to the Commissioners, leadership staff from departments such as Public Works, Veterans Services, and Planning also attended, giving residents direct access to subject-matter experts and a broader understanding of the services the County provides. Café Conversations are part of the County’s Strategic Plan commitment to strengthening community trust through improved communication and transparency. For residents, these events provide insight into how County government operates, how services impact daily life, and an opportunity to ask questions about issues that matter most to them in their community. For Commissioners, they provide valuable perspective on community priorities while creating space to talk with residents about County programs and initiatives. These conversations are intended to strengthen connections and help residents feel heard, engaged, and connected to their local government. Café Conversations provide an open and welcoming forum for listening, learning, and connecting with the community.
