FUTURE TEACHERS PROGRAM BUILDS TALENT PIPELINE Elmbrook’s Future Teachers LAUNCH program has been shaping the next generation of educators since its inception in 2017. This innovative program has brought Elmbrook graduates back to the district as high-quality educators. The first graduate of the program was hired by Elmbrook in 2022, and since then, the district has welcomed two teachers, two teacher interns, and Wisconsin’s first teacher apprentice, all products of the Future Teachers program. This vital pipeline is addressing workforce shortages in education while cultivating a talented and dedicated workforce for the Elmbrook community.

SALE OF HILLSIDE In January, the Board of Education voted unanimously to sell the former Hillside Elementary School and property. Following two community listening sessions and several planning meetings, the Board’s decision was rooted in the community’s feedback as they sold the property to a single-family home residential builder. The process of the sale will likely be completed in the next 6 months and funds will be allocated to active facility costs. This sale marks the completion of a 2023 strategic goal in facility planning targeting two District properties; the Hillside property and Fairview South, which will be renovated this summer. District efforts have already turned to completing a Master Facility Plan for all District facilities.
