Strategic and Organizational Leadership
How We Lead People
How We Shape the Future
How Leadership Capability is Built to Scale Our leadership development approach is designed to drive behavior change and business impact. We structure learning around real-world application and reinforce it to build and scale leadership capability across the organization. Awareness Leaders gain insight into their current behaviors, leadership gaps, and the expectations of their role. Programs build self-awareness and a shared leadership language. Skill Building Leaders move from knowing to doing through structured learning experiences — workshops, cohort programs, and targeted development to build practical, applicable leadership skills. Application & Reinforcement Learning is embedded into daily leadership practice through coaching, peer accountability, and on-the-job application to ensure capability grows and scales. This progression is applied consistently across the three leadership domains — ensuring every program, whether focused on leading people, running the business, or shaping the future, builds lasting capabilities. Page 8 | Elliot Institute for Leadership Excellence
Leadership Domain How We Lead People: Relational and Talent Leadership Research consistently shows self-awareness is one of the strongest predictors of leadership effectiveness. Leaders who recognize their triggers, regulate their responses, and take accountability for their impact are better able to build the trust which drives team performance. This pillar also focuses on how leaders show up in critical moments – navigating difficult conversations, coaching, and developing others, building relationships, and influencing with impact.
Core Competencies
Self-Awareness and Emotional Intelligence Understanding personal patterns, triggers, and their effect on others; the basis of strong interpersonal effectiveness.
Resilience and Growth Mindset Maintaining composure under pressure and approaching challenges with adaptability and a growth mindset.
Relationship Building and Influence Cultivating trust-based relationships and leading through influence rather than authority alone.
Coaching and Developing Others Investing in the growth of team members through intentional feedback, coaching conversations, and developmental support.
