The Grace of Hospice
Dr. Gilbert Witte, HomeCare & Hospice Medial Director OLEAN- For over 30 years, our service and mission has been to provide patients facing life-limited illness with the best quality of life. To have them live the best life they can for as long as they can and to provide their families and caregivers a sense of relief through the process. Although we cannot provide a curative measure for their illness, we can provide comfort. The patient may not have chosen to have this illness, but they now have the option to choose how they live from this point on. Although a difficult decision to make for both the patient and the physician, we hope for early referrals so that all disciplines can do their best work with the patient and their caregivers. Once that first step to hospice is taken, our clinical staff coordinates all plans of care alongside the patient and their caregivers offering nursing, aides, social workers, spiritual care and volunteer services. We work with you to cover costs and cover everything related to the diagnosis. Anyone can make the first call to hospice.
