Arrows, bows and sights will be referred to frequently this weekend as the International Bowhunting Organization holds their 2014 world championships at Holiday Valley Resort this weekend. Scheduled to take place from Thursday, Aug. 7 through Sunday, Aug. 10, the event is expected to draw more than 2,000 competitors from nearly two dozen different countries as they aim for a share of $200,000 in cash and prizes that will be awarded after results from the four days of shooting are tallied. Formed in 1984 as a way to unify bowhunters and bring all shooters together for the common purpose of promoting, encouraging and fostering the sport of bowhunting, the IBO will celebrate their 30th anniversary at Holiday Valley, with 2014 marking the fifth time the IBO World Championships have been held here. IBO officials and organizers of this weekend’s activities at Holiday Valley continue to rave about the region’s ability to host an international competition with great ease. “The beautiful terrain, first class accommodations and welcoming community make Holiday Valley Resort and the

Can You Say Yum? 17 Restaurants Gearing Up for Taste of Ellicottville, August 16-17
By Jann Wiswall
In just one week, Ellicottville will be filled to the brim with folks from all over the region who have come to taste-test some of the more than 100 delicious hors d’oeuvres, appetizers, salads, entrées and desserts prepared by the town’s best chefs.
This year, 17 restaurants, including two new additions — Katy’s Catering and EVL Cheese Company — are offering up their specialties of the house in tasting portions from noon to 4 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 16-17. Taste of Ellicottville has become one of western New York’s favorite summer events. Chefs pull out all the stops to make it a gastronomic adventure of epic proportions and visitors make a full weekend of it, knowing that each year there will be a great selection of old favorites and new recipes to try. “Last year was the second biggest in Taste of Ellicottville’s history,” said Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Brian McFadden. He’s predicting that 2014 could beat that record. “We’re already at 90 percent lodging capacity for Saturday night.” See Can You Say Yum page 8

ERA Team VP Realtors Volunteer for Rebuilding Together Community Involvement at Core of Agency’s Goals by Eva Potter
When Todd VanDyke joined ERA Team VP as a branch manager of the Ellicottville
and Cuba offices last year, one of his biggest goals was to grow these branches, not only from a business perspective but also from a community involvement point of view. Rebuilding Together is a national, non-profit
organization that works with low-income homeowners, particularly the elderly and those with disabilities, to repair their homes and perform minor modifications at no charge. See ERA Volunteers page 11
How Tuscan Moon Helps Rotary Underpinning of Community Support Submitted by Greg Cappelli
We are often asked what the Ellicottville Rotary does to help and improve the community in which we live. In the words of the Rotary District Governor, “I was very impressed with the extent of your engagement in both your community and the world at large.” With Rotary’s two affiliates,
the Foundation for Youth and Family Support for Ellicottville, Rotary does many projects. With a core of volunteers, 100 percent of funds raised go to support local projects, including a $50,000 building grant that was awarded to the Ellicottville Library. We also fund the library’s summer intern; the summer
reading program; iPad, Kindle readers and computers; a new high-speed router for Wi-Fi as well as numerous kid-friendly programs. Other youth programs at the library are funded by the Foundation for Youth as requested. In 2013, we established the Young Writers See Tuscan Moon, page 9

Holiday Valley the ability to make even more and better quality snow all season long across the mountain. A turbo fan gun also is being installed at the Holiday Valley Tubing Park. Three new connecting trails have been cut. One, from the top of Morning Star to Crystal, will be named Peppermint Lane. Another, from Sunrise to Bear Cub, will be known as Bear Paw. The third, which will be an extension of Cindy’s, will give beginners access from The Inn to the base area and the Snowsports School from Sunrise. New trail and slope maps will be available as soon as the snow falls to guide guests through the additions. A new stone clock tower and bridge is nearly completed outside the main lodge. The clock tower’s design is similar to the one that was razed during the 2012 construction of the new lodge and serves as a meeting place and information station. Several non-winter season improvements have been made already. Sky High Adventure Park has a new black diamond course that has been wildly popular all summer long. A new hiking trail from the top of the Spruce Lake chairlift to Sky High opened in time for chairlift ride season that began last weekend. Down by the new Holiday Valley Lodge, the resort has improved the deck around
the pools and Cabana Bar with space for outdoor games. A new, timber-frame canopy over the Cabana Bar will be installed this fall. At the award-winning Double Black Diamond Golf Course, bunkers on the back nine will be rebuilt this fall. And renovations of the lovely Inn at Holiday Valley will be completed soon, with new furniture, carpets, wall treatments and countertops to make guests’ stays even more comfortable and cozy.

England – Dogs in Pubs, Dogs on Buses, Dogs, Dogs, Dogs The English are distinguished by tea and scones, ales and meat pies, jumpers and knickers, trousers and tweeds and, of course, their beloved dogs. The English absolutely adore their dogs and come by this craze for canines, honestly. When King Charles II came to the throne in 1660, dogs enjoyed an unprecedented place in the Royal household. Queen Victoria kept as many as 75 dogs in the kennels of Windsor Castle. Currently, Queen Elizabeth has five dogs, all direct descendents of Susanne, the corgi she received as a gift on her 18th birthday. All Royal family members have dogs. When told that Arthur, his black and white spaniel, would not be allowed into Windsor’s Guild Hall for his civil marriage to David Furnish, Elton John made the dog his best man. Arthur attended the wedding without incident. So yes, all queens past and present are crazy about dogs. A few years back on my trek across England, I stayed in pubs like The Fox & Hounds, The Dog & Partridge, The Black Bull, and The White Lion, and by the time I got there at the end of the day, there were usually three dogs waiting for me. And you thought Canadians love their dogs?!? At Penrith, the local bus company has created a special five pound ticket so that a man and his dog can make a circular, six-stop pub crawl in which neither the owner nor the dog have to drive. The Lake District in Cumbria is so dog friendly the Watermill Inn & Brewing Company near Windermere offers up 16 real ales brewed on premises and they are all – Ruff Justice, Collie Wobblers, Isle of Dogs, Dogth Vader – named after dogs. The Watermill pub is so pup friendly, they replaced all the urinals in the washroom with fire hydrants. Okay, so I made that one
up, but the rest is refreshingly true. I think dogs in England go to pubs for the same reason men do – they’re trying to escape from the controlling cat at home, the way men avoid their wives. And most nights, they both have to be driven home. Like the boys that hold up the bar at the local Belmont Hotel, dogs in English pubs know that if they create any kind of a ruckus, they’ll be turfed out onto the street. So they never bark or dart about— the dogs, that is— they just sit under their owners’ tables and whine at each other across the room. It sounds like Karaoke Night with bad speakers at the aforementioned Belmont Hotel. Suffice to say, for a small island with 60 million people, there are an awful lot of dogs in England. Britain has to be the pet friendliest country in the world. Sure, they have all the questionable extravagances that we have like pet spas, day care, walking holidays, high-end gourmet meals, health insurance and designer clothes. But it hardly stops there. In Britain, dogs are allowed in most hotels, in most pubs and on all local buses. Even some cafés and restaurants offer dogs a place under the table. By comparison, whereas British dogs have democratic rights, it would seem Canadian dogs are living under dictatorial conditions. We really should be opening up more public domains to dogs in this country. Still missing my Jake, in England I petted Border Collies in pubs, ate next to terriers in restaurants and talked to a lurcher sitting next to me on buses. I did not feel ill, get bitten or witness even one ‘accident.’ And naturally, introduced by their dogs, I met a lot of fine and friendly people. Dogs in public places are the greatest catalyst to social interaction humans have. Forget candy being dandy and liquor being quicker, you let me take a dog onto
the Toronto subway system where eye contact is apparently illegal and I will give you the first names of six passengers in as many stops. “How cute is he?” “Can I pet him?” “How old is this guy?” Etc., etc. You want a friendlier world, let dogs do what they do best – be adorable and charm the pants off strangers. We should be using dogs in public places the same way Walmart offers us ‘greeters.’ We are now bringing cats and dogs into nursing homes and children’s hospitals to relieve loneliness and stress. Why not everywhere? I think dogs should be allowed everywhere including malls and retail stores. (But not pet stores. That’s just asking for trouble.) In Canada, it seems every time you turn around there’s a “No Pets Allowed” sign staring at you. In England, every time you turn around there’s a dog smiling at you with an owner singing his praises. Seriously, what we need in this country is a Pet Power movement that would create a strong and passionate group of people to advance the rights of our best friends. The punishment for cruelty to animals is still woefully weak and sporadic. Humane societies are overcrowded because spaying and neutering is far too expensive. It seems everybody in this country believes our pets deserve a better deal in society except those who make the laws. PET POWER – and just like our parliamentary system, we’ll use England as the model. For comments, ideas and copies of The True Story of Wainfleet, go to www.williamthomas.ca.
Eric Peters Memorial Scholarship Established for Catt-LV Students OLEAN, N.Y. — Eric Peters, a 2008 CattaraugusLittle Valley High School graduate with a passion for reading, sports and service, had just finished his sophomore year at SUNY Fredonia when he unexpectedly passed away in June 2010. July 26 he would have turned 24. To honor his memory his parents, Randy and Laurie Peters of Little Valley, have established the Eric Peters Memorial Scholarship at the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation. “Eric was a good listener and was creative, caring, smart and good at fixing things,” Mrs. Peters said, noting he was also an active member of the Little Valley United Methodist Church where he participated in numerous activities including Sunday school, vacation bible school, youth group and serving on a mission trip. “We would like this scholarship to encourage and enable other students to go on to college,” she added. The scholarship will be available beginning in 2015 to graduating seniors from Cattaraugus-Little Valley High School, with a preference for students who are also members
of the Little Valley United Methodist Church where Eric was active, noted Karen Buchheit, CRCF executive director. “The foundation is pleased to manage this perpetual scholarship in Eric’s name as a way of helping to remember the impact he made on the lives of his family and friends,” Ms. Buchheit said. “This scholarship will carry on Eric’s legacy of caring and being a loyal friend to young people from his alma mater and church as they begin their college journey,’’ Ms. Buchheit added. At Cattaraugus-Little Valley Central School, Eric was a member of the Honor Society and participated in soccer, golf and band. He was described as an avid reader who was well liked by his teachers and fellow students. He attended SUNY Fredonia with an interest in computers. In addition to his parents, Eric also has two older brothers, Scott and Justin, and a younger sister, Carissa. Eric enjoyed spending time with his friends – his last Facebook post was, “I thank God for my friends,” his mother said. Eric had been participating in a “Wet Wednesday” event
he and his friends held on a regular basis to play various sports and enjoy time together when he collapsed. Ultimately, efforts to revive him were unsuccessful and he passed away on June 4, 2010. His friends established a memorial garden at that same Little Valley town park in his memory. Donations to the Eric Peters Memorial Scholarship may be made care of the Community Foundation at 120 North Union St., Olean, NY 14760, or online at www. cattfoundation.org. Established in 1994, The Community Foundation is growing good by connecting donors to the causes they care about most in our region. Beer & Burgers:
The Barn
Rustic Charm, Solid Beer Selection and Custom Burgers By The Usual Gang of Idiots
No one felt like cooking last week Wednesday, so I grabbed the Commander and his lovely wife and headed over the hill to Ellicottville. Ulterior motive: to try one more futile attempt to get him to pick up a check — yes, I failed. Of course, I, Mr. Crank Pants, was accompanied by my courtordered chaperone, Mrs. Cranky Pants. Our destination: The Barn restaurant and bar on Monroe Street. Upon entry, we were greeted by one of the best waiters/bartenders I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Bill had both duties that night and was doing an excellent job. We were joined by two more friends, so we decided to start with some appetizers and beers all around. Even though they didn’t have any “true microbrews available, the selection was solid and should be enough to satisfy most anyone. I choose a Sam Adams Summer Ale, which is made by craft beer brewer Sam Adams. The Summer Ale is a crisp, light ale — just right for a hot summer day. I usually don’t like wheat beers because of their lack of body, but this ale can hold its own.
It was a good pair with the excellent appetizers. I think we ordered almost one of everything — most of them fried, because anything fried goes well with beer. I mostly noshed on the onion rings and, of course, stole some of the Commander’s food when I thought he wasn’t looking. I’m not sure what he ordered, but it was good! The next order of business was a burger. The Barn has an option that lets you build your own burger with a long list of garnish options. I topped mine with jalapeĂąo relish, pepper jack cheese, lettuce and tomato. Even though it promised an evening of heartburn, it was excellent and worth it! It was my favorite burger of the summer, so far. I paired it with a Yuengling, my fall back beer. You can never go wrong with one of these. It’s a well-balanced beer between the sweet malt and the bitter hops — the perfect beer to go with a spicy burger. Commander here. Even before I took up skiing again with Cranky in the ‘90s, The Barn was the restaurant I found myself at the most, possibly because it was easy to find — “look for the barnâ€? — and because it is a barn, it is full of rustic quaintness and charm, with interesting decorations everywhere you look. But along with its quaintness, there is a quality about it that makes you want to button that top button and sit up a little straighter ‌ maybe it’s the menu. No lunch style burgers or sandwiches are on the dinner menu, but there are tasty appetizers and interesting main course dinners. I started out with The Barn’s signature appetizer, a generous portion of Hungarian Stuffed Peppers, filled with a smoky Andouille sausage and cheese blend that was not too spicy hot but provided enough of a hit to let you know you are eating a hot pepper. So far, I think the appetizer selection is the best in Ellicottville. An order of onion rings was also on the table, and when it came out, the smell made everyone instantly salivate. They were the most perfect looking onion rings I have ever seen.
Because owner Roger Spell knew we were coming in, he made sure we could order a burger at dinnertime. He was trying out a new Bacon Wrapped Burger with barbeque sauce and pepper jack cheese served on a pretzel roll. It was fabulous and, for me, needed nothing else. They have not yet added this choice to the menu, but when they do, I hope they don’t only offer it on the lunch menu as it is worthy of a dinner choice. As Cranky Pants pointed out, the craft beer selection was minimal, but it was definitely not a negative, as it gave us all an opportunity to fall back on the beers we grew up with. Molson Canadian and Genesee were the beers of my past, and lately, I hear that Genesee has become a hot beer in New York City. So, I sipped a few domestic ice cold drafts and enjoyed my company and dinner at The Barn. After appetizers, drinks and huge burgers, everyone’s bellies were full to the brim with no room left for dessert. And that was just fine.

town of Ellicottville a popular destination for our shooters and their families,” said Bryan Marcum, president of the International Bowhunting Organization. “We’re eager to renew the fun and friendships of a world championship event at Holiday Valley.” IBO officials and the many individuals who spent countless hours preparing for the return of the international competition encourage the general public to witness the incredible skills of the best bowhunters in the world. “We worked really hard in setting up and opening all of the ranges,” said Ron Kubicki, Holiday Valley’s Snowsports School director and the person who led the work crew in establishing the courses for the IBO competition. “We have been at this since April and the end result is some challenging and very competitive ranges that each have 20 targets. Basically, as far as the property around here goes, the way I explain it to people is if it isn’t a golf course, it’s a shooting range, at least for this weekend. It was a lot of preparation but we are pleased with how it all turned out.” The feedback that Holiday Valley employees received in the past from the contestants and the family members who travel with them has always been extremely complimentary.
“The thing that I enjoy about the IBO coming here is that this is an event that helps bring attention to our area’s natural beauty,” said Kubicki. “I really enjoy it because so many of the contestants are hunters, and they and their families are people who truly appreciate what we have here that sometimes gets taken for granted.” IBO officials estimate over 8,000 people will visit the area this weekend, with an estimated $4.5 million economic impact on the region as competitors and their family members spend money on food and beverages, entertainment, retail shopping and lodging during the four-day affair. The competition involves the use of hundreds of threedimensional targets set up on the various ranges located throughout the woods, with the life-size targets including various native species that include black bears, turkeys, mountain goats and whitetail deer. Teams of shooters are assigned to a designated set of three ranges each day, with scoring compiled on how close their arrows come to what is known as the “kill zone” on each target. In addition to the world championships, the Bowhunters Open allows non-qualified shooters to compete on the same courses as those participating in the
tournament. Set to take place on Friday, Aug. 8 and Saturday, Aug. 9, the Open requires pre-registration. Visit www. holidayvalley.com/ibo for more information. Along with the competition for the qualified and nonqualified shooters, an archery trade show will take place each day beginning at noon at Yodeler Lodge for anyone looking to purchase new equipment and clothing and interact with experts from the bowhunting industry. Yodeler Lodge will also be where all of the practice defense targets are located and will be a gathering point for competitors between rounds, as well as where daily scoring can be displayed. While an enthusiastic group of volunteers has been identified to help with various tasks throughout the weekend, anyone who is still interested in providing assistance to the competitors can call (716) 6992345, extension 4401 to find out how they can lend a hand. The championship round will be held on Sunday, Aug. 10 starting at 9 a.m. with the world championship awards to be presented at 3 p.m. at Yodeler Lodge. Centerplate at Holiday Valley: Franco Brady, Centerplate at Holiday Valley’s general manager, has created a brand new menu for this year’s Taste of Ellicottville. It includes freshly made potato chips served hot with a spicy sauce; a grilled romaine salad with an olive oil and garlic dressing and your choice of goat cheese, toasted sunflower seeds or a balsamic glaze; and marinated and grilled Caribbean swordfish bites with mango and peppers. For a delightfully fresh finish, Centerplate also will be serving fresh berry infused Arnold Palmers (a blend of lemonade and iced tea). EVL Cheese Company: EVL Cheese, which is “sliced from the Cuba Cheese Shoppe,” opened in Ellicottville last fall and is joining the Taste of Ellicottville community this year with five cheese tasting plates crafted by owner Sarah Bradley. Make plans to try the Sweet and Old Spark Plate with two-year aged New York cheddar paired with local maple syrup and dark chocolate espresso beans; the Blue and Golden Plate with
creamy blue cheese, local honey and crystallized ginger slices; the Hot, Sweet and Creamy Plate featuring cream cheese, pepper jelly and rice crackers; the Greek Paradise Plate with Greek feta cheese, olive oil and New York Style garlic bagel crisps; and the Kiddos Plate with New York State sharp cheddar and Colby Jack cheese and crackers. Are your taste buds interested yet? Be sure to pick up next week’s edition of the Ellicottville Times (online at www.ellicottvilletimes.com) where we’ll have the complete details, including a map with ticket-booth locations and the full menu of delicious options to help you make the most of your weekend dining extravaganza. All of the action takes place along Washington and Monroe Streets in the center of the village. Tickets cost $1 each. Food selections range from 1-4 tickets each. Free Prescription Drug Discount Program for All Residents The Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging and NY Connects is offering discount prescription drugs through the county’s participation in the ProAct prescription drug discount program endorsed by the New York State Association of Counties (NYSAC). In 2012, ProAct mailed prescription discount cards to every household in Cattaraugus County to ensure that any resident in need of prescription drug financial relief may benefit from this discount program. The discount card covers all prescription medications,
brand name or generic. The cards cannot be used in conjunction with any other type of insurance or to discount copays. Residents who currently have insurance can use the card in the event that a particular drug is not covered under their current insurance plan. One card can be used for the entire family, regardless of age of the family member. The ProAct card is accepted at most Cattaraugus County pharmacies and can be used nationwide at any of the more than 55,000 participating pharmacies. Participants can expect to save, on average, 10–20 percent on brand drugs
and 20–70 percent on generics — at no cost to the county or participants. The program is sponsored by the New York State Association of Counties and is offered by more than half of the counties in New York State. In addition to pharmaceutical discounts, ProAct also offers discount programs for vision and dental. Upon referral, discounts can also be obtained for hearing and LASIK. For more information, including a listing of participating pharmacies, ProAct can be reached toll-free at 877-776-2285 or by visiting www.NYRxDiscountCard.com.

competitive. The event, first held in Lowell, Michigan in 1974, is a family festival with food and music along with the basketball competition. This seventh annual Olean Gus Macker will feature two new community partnerships: Rick Bokman’s FOODFÜRHOOPIN’ and the American Red Cross Gus Macker Blood Drive presented by the New York National Guard. Back again this year are the Casella Waste Recycling Hoop Contest and the Prizel’s Pharmacy Hot Shot Contest. John Irving, one of the founding directors of the Olean Gus Macker stated, “Gus Macker is more than just basketball … it’s a community festival. We try and schedule activities and events for the whole family to enjoy in addition to the ones playing the Macker. We worked with these organizations and have created some new buzz for Macker Olean.” Rick Bokman’s FOODFÜRHOOPIN’ has been an annual feature of the Belding Gus Macker. The Olean Committee believes it will be successful here and looking to set a Gus Macker record. We are encouraging
players, volunteers, our sponsors and the spectators to drop off food items to benefit the Olean Food Pantry. Scott Brook, CEO of the Olean Food Pantry, and Michael Bokman, of Rick Bokman, Inc., are both excited about it and hope to see it as an annual event. The American Red Cross Gus Macker Blood Drive is new to Gus Macker. Melissa Riehle, of the American Red Cross, sees this as an opportunity for spectators to donate much needed blood and to promote Olean’s 9/11 Memorial Blood Drive. She said, “Although the players shouldn’t donate on game day, they can certainly register for a future drive.” The blood drive is open to the public, and the first 100 people to donate or register for the 9/11 Memorial Blood Drive will receive a free drawstring bag. Gus Macker Olean is going green with the GREEN RECYCLING ZONE. Casella Waste Systems has welded a basketball hoop to one of their roll-off containers. Casella staff will be down all weekend encouraging everyone to shoot their empties — water, sports and soft drink bottles — into the hoop and into the recycling bin. If you make the shot, you
win a small door prize! Irving added, “We want to encourage people to recycle always, and why not make it fun and make a basket!” Bobby Prizel, his sons and their pharmacy have been a part of Olean Macker since its first year. This year, Prizel’s Pharmacy stepped up and is sponsoring a Hot Shot Contest on Saturday, Aug. 16. The contest is open to anyone ages 16 and younger, not just players in the Macker. The contest consists of three activities — Hot Shot, Free Throw and 3-Point. To take part in one contest is $2 or all three contests for $5. You can play as many times as you want. Winners will be from each age group (10 and under), (11-12), (13-14) and (15-16) and will be awarded gift certificates. Monies raised will go towards the Tyler Bihler Scholarship Fund. Times for the Hot Shot Contest will be noon to 3 p.m. and will be played on a separate court near the YMCA Kids Zone and NYCM Photo Booth. For more information or details, please contact John Irving at (716) 397-8223. Brackets and players list can be found online at www. macker.com.
Second Catt-Cash Winner Announced LITTLE VALLEY, N.Y. — Meredith Fries-Isaac is the second winner of the CattCash free money giveaway in Cattaraugus County the Enchanted Mountains of New York. Meredith found the CattCash ticket on the Pat McGee Trail behind the Cattaraugus County Fairgrounds located in Little Valley, N.Y. The ticket was redeemed for $150 cash at the Cattaraugus County Employees Federal Credit Union located in Little Valley. “We are glad to be a part of this fun event that’s happening
in Cattaraugus County,” said Anita Fellows, credit union manager. “As a member of this community and county, it’s our goal to always deliver customer service ... especially for an event that gives back to the community.” The Catt-Cash giveaway started on July 11 to promote summer fun and giving back to the community. Participants received daily clues through Twitter until the Catt-Cash ticket was found. It was that simple! The summer is not over
yet. There will be other opportunities for someone else in Cattaraugus County to find free money, or Catt-Cash, as we like to call it. Stay tuned.

Free NY Fishing, Hunting & Wildlife App By Eva Potter
For all you outdoor enthusiasts, the Official New York Fishing, Hunting & Wildlife app will put useful information right in the palm of your hand. A collaborative effort between the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and ParksByNature Network, this free app runs on Android 3.0 or higher and is available from the Google Play store. Powered by Pocket Ranger, this handy outdoor guide provides you with information so you can maximize your adventures with ease. Use it to locate New York’s fishing, hunting and wilderness sites, and gain immediate access to on-the-spot species profiles, rules and regulations, and important permits and licensing details. Advanced GPS technology provides you the ability to record trails and use photo waypoints to mark traps and keep track of wildlife sightings. By allowing this app to record your location, you can easily find wildlife management areas or lakes and ponds are closest to you. Reviewer Dennis Smith said: “Great app ... Works perfectly on my Galaxy Note 3. Has info on everything to do with NY State outdoors. Hunting, fishing, camping etc. If you live in NY or are visiting, give it a try.” Standard features include places to hunt
and fish; species profiles; rules and regulations; license and permit information; advanced GPS mapping features; cache map tiles for offline use; accuracy and distance indicator; friend finder feature that allows users to keep track of friends and family along the way; builtin compass to help users navigate; real-time calendar of events; news and advisories; and potentially life-saving alert feature that supplies users’ GPS coordinates to designated contacts in case of an emergency. It also serves as a safety communication tool; to record tracks, distance and time; to mark waypoints and photo waypoints; and to recall, post or share saved data. With essential fishing, hunting and wildlife viewing information at your fingertips, prepare to experience New York’s backcountry like never before. Many of the enhanced features will operate with little to no mobile reception. However, some features do require mobile data reception. Please be aware that continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Christopher Ross said: “Good info, and easy to use.”

When the opportunity arose to assemble a team of realtors to help with a local Rebuilding Together for the annual Blitz Day, VanDyke instantly knew it would be a wonderful way to express ERA Team VP’s commitment to homeowners and the regional community, especially those needing a little assistance to stay in their own homes.
