Kristen Bell makes a big ‘Choice’

Kristen Bell has been one of television’s top stars for some time now, but

2004, she was a relative unknown when she landed the title role in “Gracie’s Choice.” Originally made for Lifetime, the fact-inspired drama (subtitled “A Story of Love”) is currently streaming on Hulu, with Bell getting a sizable showcase for her talent in playing a teenager with a troubled family. With her mother (Anne Heche) addicted to drugs and her sister building her own family, she dedicates herself to raising her stepbrothers while trying to advance her own life. Eventually, she has to go to court to pursue legal guardianship of her siblings, but their mother stands in the way of that being an easily completed process. Diane Ladd also stars here, and It didn’t take long after this for Bell to become a steadier home-screen presence, since she began “Veronica Mars” — the first of her many series to date — later the same year.

“Hart to Hart” (MeTV, Sundays): Robert Wagner and Stefanie Powers had worked together earlier on an episode of his show “It Takes a Thief,” and their reunion in this this 1979-84 mystery series — originally produced for ABC by Aaron Spelling and Leonard Goldberg — made the stars one of TV’s most glamorous couples. They play Jonathan and Jennifer Hart, whose vast wealth doesn’t deter them from risking life and limb as amateur sleuths, with support from their assistant Max (Lionel Stander).
