WELLSVILLE — Mayor Ed Fahs signed an official proclamation the evening of March 23, designating March 25 as James Raptis Day in the village. The framed proclamation was presented during the village board’s meeting to Mike Raptis, son of James, who passed away on Feb. 22 at age 95. Mike thanked the board for remembering his father, a native of Wellsville and best known as one of the owners of Texas Hot, an iconic local restaurant he inherited from his father, a Greek immigrant. Wojciechowski is Cuba-Rushford valedictorian, Joy is salutatorian

CUBA — Cuba-Rushford Central School announced that the valedictorian of the Class of 2026 is Joseph Wojciechowski while Peyton Joy is the salutatorian Wojciechowski graduates with an exceptional weighted GPA of 99.95 and has been actively involved in many aspects of student life throughout his high school career. He has participated in cross country and track and field since
seventh grade, served on Student Council all four years, and has been a class officer since 11th grade. He has also been involved in FFA since 10th grade, as well as Chorus and Pop Group.
