REDESIGNING WITHIN LIMITS: FIT CLASSROOM STUDY

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
As part of my Design Technology class, we were tasked with measuring and redesigning one floor of FIT. This process involved physically visiting the site to measure all of the walls and recreating the floor plan in AutoCAD. Because we were not allowed to change the placement of the existing walls, the redesign focused on reworking the interior layout and improving the functionality of the classroom.
DESIGN CONCEPT
My design concept focused on making the classroom more functional and supportive for students. It was important to incorporate dedicated storage, including lockers, to help reduce clutter and improve organization. Large work desks and integrated bench seating were also introduced to accommodate hands-on work, collaboration, and flexibility within the space. These elements were designed to enhance comfort, efficiency, and overall usability while working within the existing classroom layout.
