The palette is fresh and expressive: sunshine radiates warmth, rose smoke adds a soft elegance, tigerlilly brings bold energy, while pepper green, waterfall, and victoria blue echo the vitality of nature. Patterns follow suit—blossom motifs capture the season’s renewal, stripes lend a timeless rhythm, and color blocking creates confident, modern statements. Playful summer fruits round out the collection, infusing it with a sense of joy and lightness.

EZA Fairer Handel steht seit vielen Jahren für Produkte, die ethisch gefertigt sind, Traditionen bewahren und die Menschen hinter jedem Stück sichtbar machen – und so Kunsthandwerk aus aller Welt mit einem bewussteren Markt verbinden.
Für Frühjahr/Sommer 2027 wird dieser Anspruch in einer lebendigen Feier von Farbe und Form spürbar. Die Palette ist frisch und ausdrucksstark: Sunshine strahlt Wärme aus, Rose Smoke bringt sanfte Eleganz, Tigerlilly setzt kraftvolle Akzente, während Pepper Green, Waterfall und Victoria Blue die Lebendigkeit der Natur widerspiegeln. At MAI Vietnamese Handicrafts, each piece is carefully handmade, resulting in unique creations. Through fair trade, traditional skills are preserved while providing artisans with stable and secure incomes.
Quilling ist eine filigrane Handwerkstechnik, bei der feine Papierstreifen zu kunstvollen Mustern gerollt und geformt werden. Bei MAI Vietnamese Handicrafts entstehen so in sorgfältiger Handarbeit einzigartige Designs. Durch fairen Handel werden traditionelle Techniken bewahrt und gleichzeitig sichere Einkommen für die Kunsthandwerker:innen geschaffen.

I was a Sari is an Indian social enterprise and fair fashion initiative that transforms traditional, pre-loved saris into contemporary clothing and accessories. Each piece is carefully upcycled by hand, giving new life to rich fabrics that carry cultural history and heritage.
The project combines sustainability, circular design, and women’s empowerment by providing training and fair employment opportunities for women from disadvantaged communities in Mumbai. The result is a collection of unique, vibrant garments that merge traditional craftsmanship with modern design, while creating meaningful social impact.
I was a Sari ist ein indisches Social Enterprise und Fair-Fashion-Projekt, das aus alten, traditionellen Saris neue Mode- und Accessoireprodukte herstellt. Dabei werden die Stoffe upgecycelt und in Handarbeit von Frauen aus benachteiligten Gemeinschaften in Mumbai verarbeitet.
Das Projekt verbindet Nachhaltigkeit, Kreislaufwirtschaft und Frauenförderung: Durch Ausbildung und sichere Arbeitsplätze erhalten die Kunsthandwerkerinnen ein eigenes Einkommen und neue Perspektiven. Gleichzeitig entstehen einzigartige, farbenfrohe Unikate mit starkem kulturellem Ursprung und modernem Design.

Sjahlendra Handicraft from Bali represents traditional craftsmanship with a strong focus on sustainability. In a meticulous process, mouth-blown recycled glass is shaped over reclaimed root wood—two natural materials that merge organically.
The unique form of each wood piece and the individual character of the glass make every item truly one of a kind. Each creation blends Balinese artistry, sustainability, and timeless design.
Sjahlendra Handicraft aus Bali steht für traditionelles Kunsthandwerk mit nachhaltigem Anspruch. In aufwendiger Handarbeit wird mundgeblasenes, recyceltes Glas auf Wurzel-Altholz geformt – zwei Materialien, die sich auf natürliche Weise miteinander verbinden.
Durch die individuelle Form des Holzes und die einzigartige Glasstruktur entsteht jedes Stück als echtes Unikat. So vereinen die Objekte balinesische Handwerkskunst, Nachhaltigkeit und zeitloses Design.

Since 1996, the Vietnamese NGO Craft Link has empowered around 6,000 artisans through design, training, and exports (accounting for 70% of revenue). All profits are reinvested into supporting its members, with a primary focus on empowering women.
Two examples highlight this success: In a ceramics workshop in Bat Trang, fair prices ensure living wages and social security. Furthermore, the use of modern gas kilns has significantly improved both the environmental impact and working conditions. In Phuong La, Craft Link preserves traditional weaving as a vital livelihood through sustainable production and innovative designs.
Seit 1996 stärkt die vietnamesische NGO Craft Link rund 6.000 Kunsthandwerker durch Design, Schulungen und Export (70 % Umsatzanteil). Sämtliche Gewinne fließen in die Förderung der Mitglieder, besonders in die Stärkung von Frauen.
Zwei Beispiele verdeutlichen den Erfolg: In einer Keramikwerkstätte in Bat Trang garantieren faire Preise existenzsichernde Löhne und soziale Sicherheit. Zudem verbessern moderne Gasöfen dort massiv die Umwelt und die Arbeitsbedingungen. In Phuong La sichert Craft Link die traditionelle Weberei durch nachhaltige Produktion und neue Designs als wichtige Lebensgrundlage.

Screen printing is a versatile printing technique where ink is forced through a fine-mesh fabric directly onto the material using a rubber squeegee. To ensure the desired motif is precisely reproduced, the areas of the screen that are not to be printed are first made impermeable to the ink using a stencil. A defining characteristic of this process is its immense flexibility, as it allows for printing on almost any surface— ranging from soft textiles to solid glass or metal. Due to the heavy application of ink, the results are exceptionally durable and vibrant, which continues to make screen printing a premier choice for high-quality finishing today.
Das Siebdruckverfahren ist eine vielseitige Drucktechnik, bei der die Farbe mit einer Gummirakel durch ein feinmaschiges Gewebe direkt auf das Material gepresst wird. Damit das gewünschte Motiv präzise abgebildet wird, werden die nicht zu druckenden Stellen des Siebes vorab mithilfe einer Schablone für die Farbe undurchlässig gemacht. Ein besonderes Merkmal dieses Verfahrens ist die enorme Flexibilität, da es den Druck auf fast allen Oberflächen – von weichen Textilien bis hin zu festem Glas oder Metall – ermöglicht. Durch den hohen Farbauftrag entstehen besonders langlebige und farbintensive Ergebnisse, die den Siebdruck bis heute zu einer erstklassigen Wahl für hochwertige Veredelungen machen.

Art Therapy with Manovikas Kendra Students
In a two-day workshop at Manovikas Kendra, textile designer Julia Raath nurtured the creativity of 15 students with neurodiverse challenges. The project provided a safe space for young people with autism or disabilities to express themselves through art beyond words. Through techniques such as wax-resist painting and stenciling, the participants discovered their individual talents and built self-confidence. A central aspect of the initiative was linking art with economic participation in collaboration with the Craft Resource Centre (CRC). The resulting designs are being transformed into textile products like scarves to show the students pathways to financial independence. In this way, the project makes a direct contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in the areas of inclusion and quality education. Teachers reported remarkable concentration and emotional balance among the participants during the sessions. Beyond its therapeutic benefits, the workshop helps make the young people‘s strengths visible for the labor market. Future projects aim to further strengthen and sustain this link between art and vocational training. Ultimately, the initiative proves that creativity is a powerful tool for social recognition and resilience.
In einem zweitägigen Workshop am Manovikas Kendra förderte die Textildesignerin Julia Raath die Kreativität von 15 Schülern mit neurodiversen Herausforderungen. Das Projekt bot Jugendlichen mit Autismus oder Behinderungen einen geschützten Raum, um sich jenseits von Worten durch Kunst auszudrücken. Durch Techniken wie Wachsreserve-Malerei und Schablonieren entdeckten die Teilnehmer ihre individuellen Talente und stärkten ihr Selbstbewusstsein. Ein zentraler Aspekt der Initiative war die Verknüpfung von Kunst und wirtschaftlicher Teilhabe in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Craft Resource Centre (CRC). Die entstandenen Designs werden in textile Produkte wie Schals umgewandelt, um den Schülern Wege zur finanziellen Unabhängigkeit aufzuzeigen. Damit leistet das Projekt einen direkten Beitrag zu den UN-Zielen für nachhaltige Entwicklung, insbesondere im Bereich Inklusion und hochwertige Bildung. Lehrkräfte berichteten von einer bemerkenswerten Konzentrationsfähigkeit und emotionalen Ausgeglichenheit der Teilnehmer während der Sitzungen. Über den therapeutischen Nutzen hinaus hilft der Workshop dabei, die Stärken der Jugendlichen für den Arbeitsmarkt sichtbar zu machen. Zukünftige Projekte sollen diese Verbindung von Kunst und Berufsbildung weiter festigen und verstetigen. Letztlich beweist die Initiative, dass Kreativität ein kraftvolles Werkzeug für gesellschaftliche Anerkennung und Resilienz ist.
