Gulliver’s Travels (1726) is a timeless satirical novel that explores the adventures of Lemuel Gulliver, a ship’s surgeon who takes incredible journeys to fantasy lands. He meets the tiny Lilliputians, the giant Brobdingnagians, the clever Houyhnhnms, and many more strange creatures. They all make him think about his own land and people, and be critical of ways of doing things that were for him quite normal before his travels. Part adventure story, part philosophical exploration, the novel is funny and imaginative, and much loved by young and old for centuries.
