The 2030 Agenda Let’s take a look at Goals 1 and 2 of the 2030 Agenda: End poverty and hunger We like to have a positive approach: since 2000, the world poverty rate has declined by 50%. That’s good news, isn’t it? However, there’s still a lot to be done in the fight against poverty! Many people in the world live below the international poverty line with 1.60 euros a day. That’s the equivalent of 47 euros a month. 47 euros to pay for housing, food, clothes… Furthermore, the vast majority do not have access to education and health care. When we refer to global poverty, these are just some of the issues involved.

1 Poverty is everywhere.

In the UK, approximately 22% of the population live in poverty. Here are some words related to poverty. Match the words to the definitions.
