The Belgian energy landscape is facing an immense transformation in the coming 25 years. The lead times associated with the development of the electricity grid and capital-intensive power projects means 2035 and 2050 are much closer than they appear. With this in mind, Elia's Belgian electricity system blueprint for 2035-2050 aims to assist policymakers policymakers as they take decisions about Belgium's energy mix and the path it will follow in the lead-up to 2050.
