Tactical Performance Strength Solutions

Today’s defence forces operate in a fast-changing security climate with growing demands on combat readiness. Strength, resilience, and reliable infrastructure are essential — and this is where Eleiko contributes. Our equipment is not combat material, but it plays a decisive role in building the physical capability, health, and preparedness of duty personnel across NATO and their allies.
We bring more than 60 years of high-performance expertise to the tactical environment. The same precision that shapes equipment for world-class sport now supports soldiers, sailors, and first responders in their daily training. Our modular Prestera system, container solutions, galvanized outdoor setups, and cable integrations for confined spaces are engineered for demanding environments on land and at sea.
A secure supply chain is mission-critical. We are strengthening ours by bringing production closer to home, expanding manufacturing in Sweden, and partnering with Ovako to use ultra-clean recycled steel with a significantly lower carbon footprint. This improves transparency, reduces lead times, and supports the growing focus on defence-critical supply assurance.
Quality facilities also support recruitment and retention — a priority for every NATO member. Well-designed strength spaces reduce injuries, raise performance, and help personnel stay in service longer. With Eleiko’s consultancy, 3D planning, installation, and tactical education programmes, we help forces build environments that deliver measurable results.
We are committed to being a trusted partner for defence organisations strengthening their capabilities for the years ahead.

Modern Tactical Performance: Building resilient highperformance environments
Modern tactical forces are recognising that gym facilities are more than fitness amenities. They are critical operational assets that reduce injury, extend careers, and support the physical demands of high-performance environments.
Jesper Hørby and Henrik Bengaard, co-founders of H3X Human Performance and specialists in training high-performing athletes and professionals in demanding environments, explain how professional strength environments can impact readiness and resilience. As they note:
“If we can keep someone operational for longer, we don’t just save resources — we keep experience. That’s what matters most.”
Purpose-built, high-performance training environments help cultivate individuals who are resilient, capable, and more likely to maintain long-term performance. In some cases, access to the right equipment has allowed professionals returning from injury to resume full duties in weeks rather than months — a direct example of protecting experience and capability.
Professional environments change behaviour and culture
The psychological impact of the facility itself is powerful. When individuals enter a gym that looks and feels professional, participation improves, attitudes shift, and training becomes a serious part of the working day.
”When a gym is designed for elite sport professionals, people treat it differently — they train smarter, take it seriously, and show up consistently.
— Jesper Hørby & Henrik Bengaard, H3X Human Performance and specialists in training elite tactical personnel.
Modern strength facilities signal priority and respect for people, demonstrating that performance, safety, and longevity in demanding roles matter — a powerful factor in retention. Providing a professional environment encourages consistent use and fosters a culture where people want to train.
Injury reduction and physical longevity
Rehabilitation, injury prevention, and load management are central to readiness. Injuries remove experienced individuals from active duties, increase costs, and slow development pipelines.
Facilities designed with intelligent layouts and versatile equipment allow teams to progress safely, train across diverse ability levels, support effective return-to-service programmes, and maintain consistent monitoring and coaching. As Jesper notes:
We had an athlete coming back from a shoulder injury, and having access to the exact equipment we needed meant he could return safely in weeks rather than months.”
Strength training done well protects careers by reducing the physical strain that can lead to early exit or long-term limitation.
Equipment built for high-duty use
Training spaces in demanding environments are high-volume, high-impact settings. Equipment must withstand daily, heavy use without compromising safety or precision.
In these environments, it is common for multiple groups to train simultaneously: individuals performing at peak readiness, people returning from injury on modified programmes, and developmental groups building foundational strength. Facility design must be versatile enough to support these varying needs at the same time, ensuring safe load progression, efficient workflow, and minimal interference between groups.
Key priorities include exact load accuracy for consistent training and assessment, knurling and handle designs that reduce strain during repeated use, intuitive racks
and strength stations that support fast, varied, and structured sessions, and adaptability for mixed-ability groups and diverse body types.
Tracking, data, and informed programming
Reliable tools allow teams to track progress consistently, monitor load, compliance, and progression, tailor training for operational roles, and support evidence-based injury prevention. Measured training delivers measurable results — leadership teams gain visibility into physical capability across their organisation.
“We monitor load across everyone in the organi — it helps leadership teams see who’s ready and prevents overtraining,” say Jesper and Henrik.
Investing in facilities is investing in people
Modern strength spaces do more than improve fitness — they protect experience, support wellbeing, and enhance readiness in high-performance organisations. As organisations strengthen their capabilities, facilities that promote durability and longevity will become a defining part of operational effectiveness. People are the limiting factor in capability, and strength training facilities help protect that asset.

Eleiko Bars
The Eleiko Feeling. More powerful than ever.
For decades, we have crafted strength equipment that meets the demands of the world’s strongest athletes. With this next generation of Eleiko Bars, that legacy continues — with bars that are even more precise, more durable, and more connected to the lifter’s experience than ever before.
Lifters describe The Eleiko Feeling™ as the harmony of balance, dynamic flex, controlled rotation, and our signature grip.
Through careful refinements in sleeve geometry, tighter tolerances, and performance-focused finishes, this next generation of bars embodies Eleiko’s pursuit of the ultimate lifting experience.
We care deeply about the details, so lifters don’t have to. They simply lift — and feel the difference.

Extreme endurance. Dynamic flex. Each bar is crafted at our headquarters in Halmstad, Sweden, using proprietary Eleiko Steel™ — a precise blend of strength and flexibility honed through decades of innovation, testing and competition use. Combining Swedish-made quality with responsible production, the bars are built from 97% recycled steel, with an 80% lower CO₂ footprint compared to the global steel average. They represent both engineering mastery and environmental responsibility.
The surface that doesn’t give in Our proprietary DN3 Chrome™ pairs an elastic base layer with an ultra-hard 0.3-micrometer trivalent chrome top layer. The result: lasting corrosion protection that preserves knurl sharpness and structural integrity through years of heavy training. Trivalent chrome technology enhances durability while reducing environmental impact and improving workplace safety compared to traditional chrome plating.

Confidence in your hands
Our signature knurling patterns blend skilled craftsmanship with decades of athlete feedback to strike the ideal balance between grip and comfort for each lifting discipline. Four precisely calibrated knurling patterns ensure the perfect connection between bar and lifter: Standard, an all-round volcano pattern for high-volume training; 1.2 Training, a moderately sharp pyramid pattern for weightlifting training; 1.2 Competition, a sharp pyramid pattern for competitive lifting; and 1.5 Power, a pronounced volcano pattern designed for maximum grip in powerlifting.

Iconically Eleiko. Easy to spot.
A medal-inspired colour system and Bar ID rings with clear weight markings make bar selection instant — even in busy training spaces. Visible from any rack position, they reduce search time and keep training moving. Bevelled edges reflect the design language of our strength range, creating a confident silhouette, while engraved production details and certifications ensure authenticity and full traceability down to the individual barbell.

Stronger Together Specialised consultancy for tactical performance facilities
Purpose-built guidance for mission-critical environments
Creating effective tactical performance facilities demands more than equipment knowledge. It requires an understanding of how service members train, how units operate, and how physical readiness underpins mission success. Eleiko brings decades of high-performance experience into the tactical domain, combining precision-engineered equipment with a consultancy practice built around the special requirements of defence and first-responder environments.
From the first idea to a fully realised facility, we work side-byside with organisations to design training spaces that improve readiness, support large training groups, and stand up to heavy operational use.
From Assessment to Realisation — A Clear, Structured Process
1. Understanding the Mission Profile
Every facility design begins with a detailed review of operational goals, training demands, space constraints, and unit structure. Our team works to understand your training patterns, deployment cycles, and equipment needs.
We gather concrete data:
• number of personnel per session
• required lift stations and throughput environmental constraints (indoor, outdoor, maritime, expeditionary)
storage, noise, and safety considerations long-term durability requirements for tactical tempo
This ensures recommendations are grounded in real operational use, not assumptions.
2. Visualisation and 3D Layout Planning
Using our 3D design environments and digital configurators, we translate needs into clear spatial concepts. Facilities see their future layout before a single product is ordered — including flow patterns, platform placements, storage solutions, and Prestera integrations.
For confined spaces such as navy ships or remote outposts, our team models load paths, wall interfaces, doorways, ceiling height challenges, and safe working areas. For outdoor training, we plan drainage, surface requirements, equipment placement, and galvanised solutions that withstand weather 365 days a year.
3. Engineering for Demand, Durability, and Safety
Our tactical customers operate in harsh, high-frequency conditions. We specify equipment that can absorb daily, repeated use from large groups:
• Prestera racks with stainless uprights for precise adjustments and durability
Integrated cable stations for compact, multi-method training
Modular storage to maintain order and speed sessions Galvanised outdoor systems for container gyms and field training
• SVR platforms for calmer training environments in shared buildings
This mirrors our high-performance heritage: the same engineering trusted in Olympic and world championship training halls is adapted to tactical readiness needs.
4. Delivery, Installation, and Technical Support
Eleiko manages installation with the attention to detail required in secure and mission-critical environments. Our teams coordinate access, logistics windows, and safety requirements specific to bases, maritime facilities, and defence institutions. Once installed, we ensure training operations can start immediately.
5. Education and Upskilling
Equipment alone does not build readiness. Our Tactical Trainer course and broader Eleiko Education programs help coaches and instructors run effective, safe, and progression-focused sessions tailored for unit needs. This includes lifting fundamentals, ACFT-relevant movement patterns, and programming for long-term durability of personnel.
High Performance as the Foundation
Tactical performance is closely aligned with the training demands of elite sport — consistent high output, precise execution, and long-term resilience. The same engineering that supports world-class athletes guides our tactical solutions:
Clean Swedish steel and precision engineered sleeves in Eleiko bars ensure safety and reliability

Precision crafted strength equipment since 1957

Our strength journey began with the finest barbells for professional lifters. We’ve grown beyond the competition platform to equipping passionate lifters everywhere.

Since 1957
From waffle irons to the world’s leader in strength
Eleiko manufactured small electrical appliances including waffle irons. In 1957 our factory supervisor Mr Hällström, frustrated with barbells constantly bending and breaking, approached Mrs Johansson, our managing director, with an inspired idea — build a better barbell.
The bar was crafted from specially formulated Swedish steel with knurling inspired by the waffle iron pattern.

Inspired by Lifters
From that first barbell to last an entire competition without bending or breaking, Eleiko set a new equipment standard. Hundreds of championships, over 1,000 world records, and decades of trust from athletes around the world speak for themselves.

Sustainability in the Tactical Environment Stronger equipment. Stronger supply chains. Stronger forces.
Modern defence organisations face a dual challenge. They must maintain peak operational readiness while navigating a world defined by geopolitical instability, supply chain vulnerability, and increasing climaterelated risks. Alongside these pressures, recruiting and retaining personnel remains a key priority for NATO and partner forces. High-quality, modern gym facilities play an important role in supporting both physical readiness and workforce retention.
Eleiko’s sustainability work is built on these principles. Our mission to build A Stronger World aligns directly with the needs of NATO and partner forces — a stronger force is one supported by durable infrastructure, transparent supply chains, and equipment that performs for decades, not cycles.
This section outlines how Eleiko delivers on that commitment.
1. Durability as Sustainability
Equipment engineered to last — reducing waste, cost, and downtime.
Operational environments demand equipment that withstands heavy use, harsh climates, and high-volume throughput. Eleiko’s design philosophy focuses on durability first, because long service life directly lowers environmental impact and lifetime cost.
From our Sustainability Report:
• Durability is sustainability — long-lasting equipment reduces waste and resource use. Core products undergo rigorous testing regimes, including 100,000-drop plate tests and precision control on barbell straightness.
• New products such as the Competition Collar are designed to reduce wear and extend lifespan through innovative materials and construction.
For tactical customers, this long-view engineering reduces the frequency of replacements, minimises logistical burden, and keeps training environments mission-ready at all times.
2. Cleaner Steel for Stronger Equipment
80% lower CO₂ footprint — without compromising performance.
Steel drives performance — and emissions. Through our partnership with Ovako, a leader in low-carbon steel, Eleiko barbells use steel with:
• 80% lower carbon footprint vs. global average Up to 97% recycled content in Swedish steel
A hydrogen-based heating process that dramatically reduces emissions from steel heating and forging
This step forward is significant for defence forces prioritising sustainable procurement. Low-carbon steel reduces environmental impact without compromising strength, precision, or reliability — critical attributes for tactical performance environments.
3. Localising Production for Resilient Supply Chains
A reliable partner in a fractured security climate.
The Danish Defence report and NATO member analyses highlight a strategic priority: strengthen critical supply chains, reduce dependency on vulnerable regions, and bring production closer to home. Eleiko’s own strategy aligns directly with this shift.
From our Sustainability Report:
A clear move toward reshoring and European sourcing across steel, components, and manufacturing partners.
• 46% of production is already based in Sweden, with most remaining production in Europe.
Expansion of our in-house manufacturing and new Halmstad logistics centre improve transparency, control, and reliability.
This significantly reduces exposure to global disruptions, supports NATO-wide security-of-supply goals, and ensures more predictable lead times for military procurement.
4. Alignment with the UN Global Compact
Transparent governance and responsible business conduct.
Eleiko has been an active participant in the UN Global Compact since 2020, committing to the ten principles on: Human rights Labour
• Environment
• Anti-corruption
For defence organisations — where procurement standards are rigorously assessed — this alignment ensures partners can trust our processes, supplier management, and governance frameworks.
Our work includes:
• Annual reporting on progress and compliance Supplier screening and third-party audits in high-risk regions
• A zero-tolerance policy on corruption A structured supply chain due-diligence programme
This aligns directly with DALO, NATO, MOD, and EU expectations for responsible sourcing.
5. Reducing Operational Impact
From transportation to facilities — continuous improvements.
Key highlights from our operational sustainability efforts:
• Scope 3 emissions screening completed, with full reporting in 2025.
Transportation emissions now tracked across upstream and downstream logistics; air freight used only when mission-critical.
• 100% renewable electricity at Eleiko HQ. Waste management improvements, with 92% real data coverage in 2024.
For defence buyers, this transparency supports ESG reporting requirements and shows a clear pathway to further reductions.
6. Circular Design for Tactical Readiness
Products that can be maintained, adapted, repaired, and reconfigured.
Eleiko follows circular design principles:
• Build long-lasting, high-performing equipment Use recyclable materials wherever feasible Ensure products are easy to service and maintain
• Design modular systems (Prestera) that can evolve over time

We work to have a positive impact on our industry, communities and customers by reducing our environmental impact. Our ISO 9001 and 14001 certification, sustainability initiatives, emphasis on durable design, materials and ultraclean green steel exemplify our commitment to building a stronger world.

This is especially relevant for tactical environments: Prestera’s modularity allows facilities to adapt rapidly to force structure, new programming, or deployment scenarios (including container-based gyms).
• Stainless steel uprights and gliding attachments reduce wear and extend equipment lifespan.
Galvanised outdoor systems withstand extreme climates 365 days a year, supporting combat-readiness in Nordic, desert, and maritime conditions.
This reduces replacement cycles and increases training uptime — a critical operational advantage.
7. Social Sustainability: Stronger People, Stronger Forces
Human performance and safety at the centre.
From our sustainability data:
Safe workplaces and zero serious accidents remain core targets.
• Eleiko Education equips coaches, instructors, and tactical trainers with the skills required to run safe and effective strength programmes.
Our Tactical Trainer education pathway aligns directly with readiness and injury-prevention needs across military and first-response communities.
This is integral to sustainability: fewer injuries, improved resilience, and higher readiness.
8. Why Sustainability Matters for Defence Procurement
It’s not about “green”—it’s about readiness, reliability, and risk mitigation.
For defence organisations, sustainable procurement is no longer optional. It supports:
• Operational continuity
Lower total cost of ownership
Secure supply chains
Higher training uptime
• Compliance with NATO, EU, and national frameworks
Reduced environmental impact on bases and training areas
Eleiko’s approach meets these needs — combining durable engineering with responsible sourcing and transparent governance.
9. The Eleiko Advantage for NATO & Tactical Partners
• European manufacturing footprint reduces risk and lead time.
Low-carbon, high-performance steel supports both readiness and sustainability goals.
• Modular, long-life systems adapted to combat-relevant physical demands.
Proven history supplying Danish Defence, Swedish Armed Forces, US Army, US Navy, and NATO partners.
Eleiko is ready to support the next chapter of tactical readiness — building stronger forces through equipment and sustainability practices engineered for the long term.

Stronger Supply Chains, Stronger Forces
Why defence readiness begins with local, secure training infrastructure
Modern defence organisations stand at a strategic inflection point. The global supply chains that enabled efficiency over the past 30 years are now recognised as a vulnerability. Conflicts, geopolitical instability, pandemic aftershocks, and congested freight routes have exposed dependencies that directly impact military readiness.
The latest U.S. national security supply chain analysis confirms that the defence sector must “revamp its supply chain ecosystems” to reduce reliance on fragile overseas sources, especially in the Indo-Pacific. The report warns that many foundational materials required to sustain military operations are still produced in regions that may be inaccessible during conflict, creating dangerous vulnerabilities for NATO-aligned forces.
This shift has led to a clear directive: Defence forces must build resilient, allied-based supply chains — and partner with companies whose production is already close to home.
This is precisely where Eleiko’s approach offers strategic value.
While our solutions are not classified as combat-ready material, they form a significant part of the infrastructure that supports duty personnel. Strength facilities are where service members build physical resilience, reduce injury risk, and prepare for the demands of deployment. When these facilities fail — due to equipment delays, sourcing issues, or unreliable manufacturing — training degrades and readiness suffers.
”While our solutions and products are not considered as combat ready material, we consider it as a significant part of the necessary infrastructure that contributes to the fitness, health and education
of all duty personnel and supports combat & operational readiness of NATO defence forces.
— Erik Blomberg, Eleiko CEO
A Defence Landscape Moving from “Just-in-Time” to “Just-in-Case”
Supply-chain resilience is no longer optional for defence buyers. MITRE highlights that the military cannot depend on the “just-in-time” logistics model that dominated the past decades. The current industrial base is not able to respond quickly enough to the demands of modern multi-theatre conflict.
This is exactly the challenge Eleiko anticipated — and addressed — well before the pandemic made these vulnerabilities visible.
Eleiko’s reshored supply chain: built for stability, not short-term efficiency
• 46% of all manufacturing takes place in Sweden, with an additional 29% elsewhere in the EU. Core machining, assembly, knurling, steelwork, and product testing happen at Eleiko’s Halmstad headquarters.
• The new 18,300 m² logistics and production centre consolidates warehousing, production, and quality control under one roof.
• Eleiko uses clean European steel, with a secure partnership that provides traceability and significantly reduces geopolitical risk.
With these assets positioned entirely within the EU and NATO industrial ecosystem, Eleiko’s supply chain already aligns with what NATO planners increasingly view as essential: secure production inside trusted nations.
Addressing Strategic Vulnerabilities Identified in National Security Reports
The MITRE analysis outlines several vulnerabilities that directly affect procurement decisions today:

1. Heavy dependency on Indo-Pacific materials
Critical components used across global industries still originate from Asia — a region likely to be disrupted during conflict. Eleiko’s focus on EU-based sourcing provides a clear advantage in continuity and risk mitigation.
2. Limited industrial capacity during high-intensity conflict
Most nations lack surging capacity. Eleiko’s concentrated European production and strong supplier partnerships offer predictable throughput during global disruptions.
3. Need for coalition manufacturing and allied industrial cooperation
MITRE urges NATO partners to build integrated manufacturing ecosystems to ensure resilience. Eleiko’s operations already operate inside this framework — entirely within allied nations.
4. Requirement for buffer stock and redundancy
Defence planners are being encouraged to stockpile and preposition critical materials. Eleiko’s predictable sourcing and durable products reduce replenishment cycles and improve facility uptime.
This alignment makes Eleiko an inherently low-risk partner in an increasingly volatile landscape.
Durability as a Strategic Advantage
For defence organisations, durability is more than a cost consideration. It is a readiness factor.
Equipment failure disrupts training cycles, increases injury risk, and adds pressure to already strained logistics networks. Eleiko’s precision-crafted bars, plates, racks, and cable systems are engineered for decades of service — with wear-tested components and designs optimised for high-volume use.
Long-lasting equipment reduces:
• maintenance needs replacement timelines exposure to global freight constraints
• procurement complexity
In a world where MITRE calls for defence forces to maintain higher stockpiles and longer-term operational continuity, durability becomes a direct strategic asset.
Training
Infrastructure
as Part of National Defence Readiness
Modern defence strategies emphasise human performance as a core operational capability. The physical preparation of service members directly affects mission outcomes. Tactical Strength Centres, human performance labs, and distributed training hubs are no longer peripheral — they are foundational.
Eleiko already supports these capabilities globally:
U.S. Navy (5-year IDIQ)
U.S. Army IDIQ and major bases including Fort Liberty
• Danish Defence Forces (DALO), 15+ years
U.S. Air Force Academy
Swedish Armed Forces
• European special operations and naval units
These partnerships demonstrate that Eleiko is more than an equipment supplier. Eleiko is a strategic infrastructure partner in environments where safety, uptime, and predictable supply chains matter.
Designed for Facilities That Cannot Fail
Whether on land, at sea, or in expeditionary environments, defence training spaces must operate with continuity. Eleiko’s equipment and systems are engineered for:
• high-density training cycles
• demanding climates confined shipboard environments containerised and deployable setups
• noise-sensitive facilities
• extreme durability requirements rapid installation timelines
Eleiko’s modular Prestera system, galvanised outdoor units, integrated cables, SVR platforms, and container gyms directly support tactical training where space, reliability, and redundancy are mission-critical.

A Trusted Partner in a Changing Strategic Environment
The defence sector is entering a new era — one defined by supply chain security, coalition manufacturing, and human performance readiness. Eleiko’s strategy of shifting production closer to home, investing in European steel partnerships, and building robust, durable products aligns precisely with these priorities.
”Our mission to build A Stronger World extends beyond strength training — it encompasses resilience, sustainability, and long-term impact.
— Erik Blomberg, Eleiko CEO
Eleiko stands ready to support NATO and allied defence forces with training infrastructure built for a more unpredictable future. Not just strong equipment — but a strong, secure supply chain behind it.
