INTRODUCTION The goal of this schedule is to make nonprofits and community members of El Dorado County aware of the multitude of granting opportunities provided by different funds of the El Dorado Community Foundation. This is an annual schedule with an estimation of dates, so please check our website regularly in case of changes: www.eldoradocf.org.
JANUARY Women’s Fund El Dorado Grant Grant Description: Women’s Fund El Dorado is a giving circle that provides grant opportunities annually. These grants usually range from $10,000$26,000. Nonprofits serving the residents and communities of the Western Slope of El Dorado County are eligible to apply. Nonprofits must have an established office in El Dorado County. Organizations who have been funded in the prior 2 consecutive years need to sit out one year before applying again. www.womensfundeldorado.org
FEBRUARY Grant Description: Tahoe Women’s Community Fund is a giving circle that provides multiple $10,000 grants annually for nonprofits who work directly to improve the community on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe. The TWCF grants are given out in different areas of need: Poverty|Housing|Basic Needs, Well-Being: Mental & Physical, Education, Environment|Animals, and Community|Arts|Culture. Nonprofits serving the South Shore of Lake Tahoe (both CA and NV sides) are eligible to apply. If a nonprofit received a grant the year prior, they are not eligible to apply for one year.

APRIL Endow El Dorado Grant Grant Description: Endow ED is the EDCF competitive grant fund. It is generally an annual grant, but the focus changes annually. This grant is open to all nonprofits serving the residents and communities of El Dorado County. There is a sit-out clause for nonprofits in that if they are funded one year, they have to sit-out the next year before requesting more funds. Often our Endow ED Grant Requests are sent to our Donor Advised Funds for extra funding opportunities! Funds dispersed no later than July 1.
Friends of Seniors Grant Grant Description: Friends of Seniors awards a total of up to $15,000 in grants to El Dorado County nonprofits and agencies that support the wellness, life enrichment, dignity and independence of Seniors (60+) residing on the WESTERN slope of El Dorado County. If a nonprofit received a grant the year prior, they are not eligible to apply for one year. Funds dispersed no later than July 1. www.friendsofedcseniors.org
APRIL Hearts & Mind Technology Grant Grant Description: Welcome to the Hearts and Minds Grant Process. Our Mission is "to provide students in El Dorado County with technology and tools necessary for success in the 21st century with an emphasis on vocational education and hands on experiences for youth on the Western Slope." This grant is open to schools and nonprofits serving Western Slope public schools in El Dorado County. This grant is for "student-used" technology. Licensing Fees will not be funded with this grant. Grant applications of up to $2,500 will be accepted.

APRIL GIVE Tahoe Grant Grant Description: GIVE TAHOE supports nonprofits who work for and within the South Lake Tahoe Area. The GIVE Tahoe Grant is open to all nonprofits, agencies and schools serving the residents and communities of South Lake Tahoe. Proposals of up to $5,000 will be considered. This grant does not have a specific focus allowing the opportunity to respond to our most important needs. Travel expenses are not funded. Pass-through Grants will not be funded. Please do not make a request that ultimately re-grants monies to others.
Veteran’s TOT Grant Grant Description: The Veterans grant program is funded by El Dorado County to support operations, programs, or property improvements/repairs that support the veteran community at large in El Dorado County only. Grants are available in amounts up to $20,000.
APRIL Pay It Forward Project Letter of Inquiries Grant Description: The Pay It Forward Project Fund is asking for letters of inquiries (LOI) from non-profits doing community improvement projects as well as any non-profit volunteer projects on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe, in Carson City, in Minden and in Gardnerville. Pay It Forward Project Fund is looking to support community volunteer projects…this may include projects benefiting the environment, parks, assisting youth and/or seniors. The requests should center on volunteerism, giving back to the community and respecting our environment.
Sierra Nevada Foundation Letter of Inquiries Grant Description: The Sierra Nevada Foundation is asking for letters of inquiries (LOI) for funding from non-profits in good standing that are working on protection, preservation and restoration projects within the Sierra Nevada Conservancy Map. Letters of Inquiries Sought for the sole purpose of protecting, preserving and restoring Sierra Nevada lands, water, wildlife, and communities for lands within the SN Conservancy Map.
AUGUST El Dorado Hills Area Foundation & Giving Circle Grants Grant Description: This Grant is open to all nonprofits and agencies serving El Dorado Hills. Proposals of up to $10,000 are accepted. The grant does not have a specific focus, rather, the intention is on inspiring ideas or programs that respond to unmet community needs. Requests cannot be for fundraising events or sponsorships. This application is for organizational projects and/or programs. Starting in 2025, organizations that have been funded by EDHAF in the prior 2 consecutive years, will need to sit out one year before reapplying.

AUGUST Pay It Forward Project Grant (for Schools) Grant Description: The Pay It Forward Project partners with local school service clubs and organizations that work to build a better community with community service projects and environmental projects that build for a better community. The Pay It Forward Project Grant Application is a youth empowerment grant for student clubs or organizations from any of the El Dorado County High Schools (CA), Douglas County High Schools (NV), and Carson City High Schools (NV) who are planning a community service project that gives back to the community. This grant centers on giving back to the community, respecting our fellow man, and continually looking ahead on how to make the world a better place for everyone in it. This grant, if approved will provide up to $500.00 for a student club's project or up to $1,000 in matching funds that student organizations raise for a community and/or environmentally focused project that builds a better community through volunteerism during the school year in which they apply.

AUGUST Locher Agriculture Grant Grant Description: This grant is made possible by the estate of Carl and Kathy Locher who were passionate about agriculture and sharing this passion with children. The grant is available to all 4-H and FFA programs that serve El Dorado County. Grants of up to $4,500 will be accepted. The Locher’s intent (“wishes”) were for these grants to support tangible, hands-on agricultural educational opportunities for the youth of El Dorado County. Examples: • Larger Equipment (Scales, Milking Machines, Incubators, Heating Lamps, Shears, Pens/Panels, Agility Obstacles...) • Supplies/Smaller Equipment (Feed Buckets, Muck Tools, Stethoscopes, Thermometers, Leads/Driving Tool…) • Curriculum (Textbooks, Toolkits, On-line Education Subscriptions, …) • Facility Improvements (New Roof, Shed, Landscape Materials, Irrigation…) What will not be considered: Entry Fees, Scholarships, Awards, Personnel/Payroll
AUGUST FEET Fund Grant Grant Application Timeline: opens end of August; closes November 1 every year Grant Description: At F.E.E.T. Fund, our primary goal is to fulfill equitable educational trips by providing funds for any socioeconomically disadvantaged student in any 4-6 grade level overnight field trip through a Lake Tahoe Unified School District school. We believe that overnight, standards-based field trips are an essential aspect in a child's development and experience in becoming a well-rounded, contributing citizen. This grant application is to be completed by the teachers/principal of a LTUSD school for their entire grade level to attend.

GRANT PROCESS OVERVIEW Support EDC Non-Profits in their service of our community!
The El Dorado Community Foundation facilitates many competitive grant cycles throughout the year. When funding is available from any of these funds, the Foundation distributes a Request for Proposal (RFP) detailing the funding focus and application deadline. Nonprofit organizations are welcome to apply for grants so long as: The non-profit is in good standing with the IRS, SOS, and DOJ (AG) The organization qualifies for the grant cycles. Please read all requirements carefully! The non-profits directly serve El Dorado County Residents (please read specifics with each grant being offered) You can check the status of your nonprofit organization to ensure that you are in compliance with each agency by using the links below: IRS database shows IRS filings for the past year(s). CA Secretary of State website will show “active and up-to-date” when in compliance. CA Department of Justice website to verify registration is current. If your entity is not based out of California, please submit comparable paperwork/screenshot for the state your entity is registered in. THESE ARE REQUIRED unless your organization is a faith-based organization, a government entity, or a Native American Tribe recognized by the federal government.
