SCHOLA RSHIP
The Alvaro L. Martins Scholarship was created in honor of The Executive Leadership Council’s first President and CEO and noted founding member. The Alvaro L. Martins Scholarship is open to ambitious undergraduate Black male students who are enrolled in one of the nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). supported by
Dequane Nealy Howard University Dequane Nealy is majoring in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science at Howard University. In 2021, he became a Howard Legacy Ambassador for Michael B. Jordan’s Invesco QQQ Legacy Classic, a college basketball tournament that showcases men’s teams from Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Also, Dequane is a member of the Terminator Project, a student-led group that created a chess game in Python that is simulated by a robotic arm. In addition to his interest in robotics, Dequane enjoys public speaking on topics that include equity and inclusion in STEM education. In the future, he hopes to create greater opportunities for minority students in the STEM fields.
Kahron Campbell Bowie State University Kahron Campbell is majoring in Sport Management with a minor in Communications at Bowie State University. He participated in the CSCP Kappa League Mentoring Program and has served as a volunteer at Food & Friends and the Capital Area Food Bank. Kahron attends First Baptist Church of Glenarden. In the future, Kahron plans to become a Sports Agent.
