He went through all emotions, and walked through all the situations today the broken and traumatized people go through in their lives. The list is endless. (In Mathew 25:35-40, He says, I was hungry, thirsty, sick, stranger, in prison…) Many such people are around us, we can see them everywhere. The homeless, people and families infected and affected with HIV and AIDS, cancer, and suffering with several other chronic illnesses, people suffering with substance abuse, sex workers, beggars, transgender, street children, fatherless children, orphans, widows, migrant labours, physically and
intellectually challenged persons, LBGT communities, vulnerable children and youth from the broken homes, jail inmates and their families, out castes, the list is long and endless. Thus Jesus says, the poor will be with you always. He came to seek the Lost Specially India is a large home for the world’s poor and the marginalized. Thus Jesus gave the vision and mission to its founders of El-Shaddai Church begin to work among the poor, marginalized and vulnerable communities
and facilitate them to seek first the Kingdom of God. Establish and expand His kingdom among the
marginalized and most vulnerable communities are their prime focus of the church.” It was in September 2014, the founders of the Church left everything and began to serve the Lord in faith, For the first six months, the church was founded and established with one single family, The Founder Family is the one, as a family, as a Pastor, church workers, and congregation, all began from the 1 st
service held in their guest house on the 14th September 2024. In
2015, from Easter Sunday, the church began its public ministry and registered as El-Shaddai church. The first public service started at Possangipur, Janakpuri in New Delhi, where hundreds of beggars, HIV-infected and affected families, homeless, migrant workers and people from various marginalized communities took part, however due to the overwhelming response, the owners by the influence of the Hindutuva groups, asked them to vacate with no notice period. The church progressively expanded to Wasirpur North-1, then to North -2, Dhaka village, Kesavpuram, then to Kings Way Camp, Patel Chest Village, Dwarka More, Nazafgarh,
Gurugram, Ranigarden, Masouri, and Bakarwala. The monthly fellowships started with drug addicts (in Yamuna Bazar), homeless people (Bopura), fatherless children (from various places), transgender people, (Sitapuri, Dabri) , which eventually became the part of our local churches to fulfill the El-Shaddai Church vision and mission to establish and expand the Kingdom of God by planting the local churches among the marginalized and vulnerable communities. The God who called us, separated us and continue to equip us to build His Kingdom, and draw hard souls, the perishing millions to be part of His Kingdom. There is a season, a decade, we used to have 6-7 services in the same day, and go for out reach 6 days in a week. Today, by His grace, the Church continues to serve the marginalized and most vulnerable communities, both by making provisions of Spiritual manna and Physical manna. Over the past years, we were not able to attract any qualified, professional and theologically trained personnel in our team, among the many reasons the two main are that we are not paying any salaries for our team members, only travel support and honorariums;
secondly we want them to live among the marginalized and most vulnerable communities. These prerequisite do not attract any qualified personnel in our
team, however God is faithful to raise the local leaders who are able to adhere to these conditions. Actively engaged in conducting weekly services, Sunday schools, women's and men 's meetings, observing special days like, World AIDS Day, Disability Day, Women Day, Birthdays as an opportunity to share the goodness to various vulnerable groups. Actively engaged in responding to the COVID-19 crisis, running Self-Help groups (SHGs) in the various local communities, where there is a local church. Miracles, healing the sick, deliverance are an integral part of the church ministry. Life of Deliverance; Life of Holiness; and Life of Fruitfulness is the theme of every year- end fasting prayers. In spite of persecutions,
oppositions, demolition of slums, scatter of believers due to covid, flood,
demolitions, migrations, persecutions become common phenomena with El-Shaddai Church, Delhi. Pastor S. Samraj and his wife Mahima Samraj serving as full-time servants and founders of El-Shaddai churches,Delhi are involved in planting churches among the marginalized and most vulnerable communities since 2014. Since covid-19, the Samraj family along with their nine children are staying in a beggar’s colony, north Delhi, as part of the community which they serve. El-Shaddai Church congregations consists of 100% first generation Christians from
Northern Indian states who are the out castes, illiterates, largely of widows, orphans, physically and intellectually challenged adults and children, rag pickers, beggars, street children, families and children with HIV and other chronic ailments, prisoners, migrant workers, drug addicts, slum dwellers, homeless people, transgender and LBGTQ communities.
Both Samraj, his wife and his large family love the Lord and love the communities and continue to share the Hope in Christ Jesus by establishing and expanding His Kingdom, and preparing the congregations as a “Oak of righteousness” and the “Bride of Christ”.
