Thank God’s Faithfulness with El-Shaddai Church, Delhi!!
Praise God for sustaining our Faith over the years!!!
If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in many. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities. Luke 16:10. Over the years in El-Shaddai Church, we have seen small slums with no streets, no drainage, toilets; little space to squeeze crowds of children and adults; very little or no educated people in our congregations; merger and manual labour with very little money to bring in to feed for the families; very little or no budgets and bank balances to conduct programs, activities for the welfare of the most marginalized and vulnerable communities. Very little acceptance of the Word of God in the beginning, yet through every challenge. Almost no staff, or little. Few faithful volunteers who stood with us over the years.
However as full time missionaries, in faith we continue to share gospel, we have being persecuted and oppressed with the allegations of conversions; Off course, who can stop the millions that the god of this universe blind folded them over the generations, and when the love of Jesus, and through His Word, the liberating gospel opens their eyes, they cant help but became the followers of Jesus. We all know by experience, specially this generation, we can not even convert a four year old, they do as they please. Everyone has their own mind, they follow what they think is right. However His Word (as in Heb 4:12) is alive, active, and sharper than any double- edged sword. Which has broke many hard rocks, stony hearts; because of its power to transform even the hardest souls and lives. God called us to reach out to the hard souls, planting vineyards in the deserts. Over the years no one even bother to see, know, help and be with and identify with the poorest of the poor in our societies or extend their hands and hearts to the well beings of the poor, marginalized
and most vulnerable communities such as the beggars, rag pickers, street children, transgender, sex workers, drug addicts, persons with disabilities, jail inmates and their families, domestic servants, lower castes and the out castes, persons and families infected with HIV/AIDS, etc. We too lived as good Christians reaching out to them during Christmas, forgetting they required Christ 365 days, offering some alms when we found them outside of our churches, streets and come to the gates of our houses, forgetting their hunger souls who need the Word of God to satisfy and Christ came to this world to seek the lost. As one leper says, if no Christians there won’t be any lepers in this nation (what he means, everyone would have perished and died, if the Christians hadn't reached out to the most neglected and unwanted sections of our society, as they see the image of Jesus on every thrown out baby, every neglected adult by the society.
In this competitive world, where everyone wanted to be in the spotlight, we forget the millions dumped in the backyard, as they are no longer able to compete with the rich, educated, skilled, talented, and possess the beauty of this universe demands. However in this nation, several pioneer missionaries such as Padit Ramabai, Ida Scudder, Amy Carmichael, William Carry; Mother Theresa, Graham Stains and so on in their dedication sacrifice of their entire life to see on one perish, but facilitate the provision of eternal life. With no denial, we can see the fruits of their labour. However still a long way to go, the harvest are still plenty, and we require labours. Also if we sow with tears, we reap in joy. Sparingly we sow, we reap only sparingly. Sometimes we were disheartened, specially after the prosecutions and oppositions by the anti christian groups (not to be named, as they are so common and familiar in the recent times). to see empty floors/empty grounds/empty halls/empty rooms/houses where once a crowd of hundreds of adults and children occupying them worshiping, learning, dancing with shouts of Hallelujahs and joyous voices and singing; and continuous serving of physical and spiritual manna with no limits. However His Words are everlasting and ever changing (Jeremiah 1:18-19).We know the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy. The one who is not coming through the door
doesn't care and love, but robs and steals (John 10:1,10). Jesus is the door. He is the way, truth and life. As a church, we want to continue to reflect the true light, who came to light every man who comes into this world. Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts (Zechariah 4:6), which we have seen over these twelve years. When we had a budget for Christmas programs, we hardly had two events, when we had no budget, the Lord took us through 20 Christmas outreaches. Some times, we hear the exact rebuke that Jesus disciple's heard from Jesus- Do you not remember? Referencing both the feeding of 5000 and 4000. El-Shaddai Church, Delhi always want to reflect the great Light that came to this world, to draw the people in the darkness and in the shadow of death (Mathew 4:16); and continue to call the sinners to repent as the Kingdom of God is at hand (Mathew 4:17); and believe that the sick requires the doctor, and not the healthy; and we as a church want to continue to be in obedience of the call Luke 14:21-23, to bring them in, that His house may be full. We are called and anointed for this purpose. (Luke 4:18-19; and Isaiah 61 and 60). We
are in the business of preparing His bride, however there is still a long way to go as out current nature, and shape is far from the expectation of Jesus, who has called us as His bride. As we are in the eve of celebrating God’s faithfulness in the El-Shaddai Church, Delhi, over the twelve years, the Lord has reminded us one of His promises in Isaiah 35 when he called us to start El-Shaddai Church in 2014 The Future Glory of Zion Isaiah 35 The wilderness and the [a]wasteland shall be glad for them, And the desert[b] shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; 2 It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, Even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, The excellence of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the LORD, The excellency of our God. 3 Strengthen the [c]weak hands, And make firm the [d]feeble knees. 4 Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.” 5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. 6 Then the lame shall leap like a deer, And the tongue of the dumb sing. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, And streams in the desert.
7 The parched ground shall become a pool, And the thirsty land springs of water; In the habitation of jackals, where each lay, There shall be grass with reeds and rushes. 8 A highway shall be there, and a road, And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, But it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool, Shall not go astray. 9 No lion shall be there, Nor shall any ravenous beast go up on it; It shall not be found there. But the redeemed shall walk there, 10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, Aand come to Zion with singing, With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness, And sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
