THOMAS J. HENRY & DR. ELENA ALVAREZ-WESTWOOD

Epic Celebrations
Thomas J. Henry Celebrates Engagement
Thomas J. Henry celebrated his engagement to Dr. Elena Alvarez Westwood with an epic celebration at the Fairmont El San Juan Hotel. Hundreds of guests traveled to San Juan, PR for an evening of live music and latenight dancing at the Isla Verde resort.
Guests arriving at the historic oceanfront property were greeted by an outdoor performance by the Earth Harp – a string instrument suspended across the entrance to the hotel with imagery matching the performance

projected onto the hotel building. A lavish cocktail reception set against the hotel’s iconic lobby saw intricate ice sculptures and 35 musicians from the Philharmonic Orchestra of Puerto Rico who played familiar compositions with a Latin twist. The couple requested an “unplugged” experience to encourage guests to fully engage with and enjoy the festivities.
The night’s entertainment featured an extraordinary lineup of Marc Anthony, Ricky Martin and other Latin superstars

whose high-energy performances turned the engagement party into a private stadium-level concert that had guests on their feet from the first song.
Following the surprise performances, an outdoor drone show lit up the Caribbean sky above Isla Verde, choreographed to music and tracing celebratory patterns overhead. As the drones dimmed, a full fireworks display erupted above the resort, drawing cheers from the crowd and setting the scene for the presentation of a birthday cake in honor of Dr. Alvarez-Westwood.

After the formalities, two DJs took over, transforming the celebration into a latenight dance party that continued into the early hours of the morning with the final performance of the celebration by Robby Elias from Miami. Guests moved between indoor and outdoor spaces, enjoying signature cocktails, late-night bites and views of the resort’s palmlined pools and shoreline.
One of the beautiful outcomes of this romance is the how this couple is seeking to transform lives of people around them. Their goal is to build
together on recent philanthropic work on the island, helping post-earthquake recovery of education services in Guayanilla and more recently as title sponsors of the American Cancer Society Puerto Rico Gala.
Dr. Alvarez-Westwood’s hair was by Eddy Scudo and makeup by Hung Vanngo. She wore outfits from Paris fashion designers Zuhair Murad, and Gustavo Arango from Puerto Rico. Guests were gifted a bottle of Don Q Gran Reserva Anejo Rum from Dr. Alvarez-Westwood’s hometown, Ponce, and chocolates from Montadero.

THOMAS J. HENRY HITS A HOME RUN WITH DUSTIN LYNCH CONCERT AND FIRST RESPONDERS SUPPORT AT WHATABURGER FIELD

Whataburger Field was alive with baseball, country music, and community spirit on Thursday night as fans packed the stadium for the Corpus Christi Hooks game followed by a high-energy postgame concert from country star Dustin Lynch. The one-night-only event was made possible through a partnership between Thomas J. Henry and Whataburger Field, creating a seamless blend of sports, entertainment, and philanthropy.
The Hooks took the field against the Wichita Wind Surge at 6:35 p.m., with thousands of fans staying late into the

evening for the concert that kicked off immediately after the final out. Admission to the show was included with the game ticket, drawing a capacity crowd that filled the ballpark with excitement from the first pitch to the last song.
Beyond the entertainment, the evening carried a deeper purpose: supporting first responders. Throughout the night, attendees entered prize giveaways, and for every entry submitted, Thomas J. Henry donated to the National First Responders Training Complex (NFRTC).

“WE’RE INCREDIBLY PROUD TO BRING THIS UNIQUE EXPERIENCE TO CORPUS CHRISTI. COMBINING AMERICA’S FAVORITE PASTIME WITH LIVE MUSIC WHILE SUPPORTING OUR FIRST RESPONDERS IS A WIN FOR EVERYONE.”

PHILANTHROPIST THOMAS J. HENRY’S $1 MILLION GIFT HELPS EXPAND SPECIALIZED CARE AS SER OF PUERTO RICO CELEBRATES 75 YEARS OF SERVICE
As SER of Puerto Rico marked its 75th anniversary, the organization announced a major expansion in its capacity to deliver specialized medical and rehabilitation services, made possible in large part by a generous $1 million donation from attorney and philanthropist Thomas J. Henry.
The donation is part of Thomas J. Henry’s broader global philanthropic initiative to expand access to specialized healthcare and elevate communities worldwide. These efforts are coordinated through his philanthropic center based in Corpus Christi, Texas, which oversees strategic investments in medical, educational, and community-based organizations to ensure measurable, long-term impact.
Henry’s contribution represents a transformative investment in healthcare access for children and adults across Puerto Rico. The funds will allow SER to recruit and retain highly specialized physicians in critical fields, including
fetal and neonatal neurology, adult neurology, neuroimmunology, physical medicine and sports rehabilitation, and pediatric rheumatology. These are areas where advanced expertise can profoundly change lives.
From November 2024 to October 2025, SER of Puerto Rico delivered 61,367 services, a 15.5% increase over the previous year. Medical evaluations climbed to 5,599, reflecting a 26.8% increase, while therapeutic services totaled 54,638, a 13.3% rise. These gains coincide with the expanded capacity enabled by philanthropic investments such as Henry’s.
In addition, SER admitted 562 new participants during the period, expanding access to care by 32.6%, and reduced therapy wait times by 30%, ensuring that families receive services sooner, when intervention can be most effective.
As the only pediatric rehabilitation center in Puerto Rico, SER also serves adults with acquired conditions. The organization emphasized that the growth supported by Henry’s donation has translated into meaningful improvements in mobility, communication, and functional independence for participants across the island.
Founded in 1950, SER of Puerto Rico provides comprehensive medical, therapeutic, educational, and rehabilitation services to individuals with physical disabilities, neurodevelopmental conditions, and autism spectrum disorders. With centers in San Juan, Ponce, and Ceiba, along with a robust community outreach program serving the entire island, SER continues its mission now strengthened by the generosity and vision of Thomas J. Henry.

The $100,000 Promise
Billion-dollar attorney and philanthropist Thomas J. Henry continues to make dreams come true through his ongoing Million Dollar Giveaway, an ambitious nationwide initiative designed to uplift communities and celebrate the power of generosity. As the giveaway moves toward its highly anticipated grand finale in December, excitement is growing around the two grand prizes of $100,000 each, offering participants the opportunity of a lifetime.
Since its launch in April 2025, the Million Dollar Giveaway has distributed thousands of dollars in weekly prizes, with five winners each week receiving $5,000 in cash. The program has become a symbol of hope and encouragement, reflecting Henry’s enduring commitment to giving back and making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

THOMAS J. HENRY AND DR. ELENA ALVAREZ-WESTWOOD EXPERIENCE SUPER BOWL LX SHARING THE MIND-SET FOCUSED ON TEAMWORK AND GIVING BACK
Prominent Texas trial attorney Thomas J. Henry and his fiancée, Dr. Elena Alvarez-Westwood, a respected radiologist based in San Juan, Puerto Rico, were among the distinguished attendees at Super Bowl LX, the NFL’s premier championship event held on February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. This marked the second time the state-of-the-art venue in the San Francisco Bay Area had hosted the big game, transforming the stadium into a global spectacle for millions of viewers.
In a thrilling matchup that captivated fans nationwide, the Seattle Seahawks emerged victorious over the New England Patriots with a decisive final score of 29-13. The Seahawks’ dominant defensive effort stifled the Patriots’ offense throughout the contest, while standout performances—including running back Kenneth Walker III earning Super Bowl MVP honors— highlighted Seattle’s balanced and
relentless approach to claiming their second Lombardi Trophy in franchise history.
Amid the electric atmosphere of the biggest game in American sports, Henry and Dr. Alvarez-Westwood took time to reflect on the deeper parallels between athletic excellence and their own professional pursuits. They emphasized core values that define true championship performance: unwavering focus, seamless teamwork, relentless hard work, and a commitment to rising above challenges. These same principles, they noted, guide their daily efforts to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
Henry applies this mindset in his high-stakes personal injury litigation practice, where he advocates fiercely for clients facing life-altering accidents and injustices, fighting to secure the justice and compensation they deserve. Dr. Alvarez-Westwood, a board-certified
radiologist with decades of experience, channels these qualities into her medical career, particularly through her longstanding dedication to early detection and advanced imaging techniques in radiology. Her work has played a vital role in identifying conditions like cancer at treatable stages, saving countless lives and empowering patients with timely interventions.
The couple’s shared ethos also aligns closely with the NFL’s emphasis on community impact and philanthropy. Programs such as the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award—presented annually to the player who best exemplifies outstanding character, leadership, and dedication to giving back—resonate deeply with their own charitable endeavors. Most notably, Henry’s recent $1 million donation to SER of Puerto Rico, a nonprofit organization celebrating its 75th anniversary, has enabled significant expansions in specialized neurological
Dr. Elena Alvarez-Westwood, Thomas J. Henry
and rehabilitation services across the island. This transformative gift has enhanced access to critical care for children and adults with disabilities, improving mobility, communication, and overall quality of life for countless individuals.
Adding to the evening’s grandeur, the halftime show delivered an unforgettable cultural celebration. Bad Bunny, the global superstar and first artist to headline the Super
Bowl halftime entirely in Spanish, commanded the stage in a vibrant, high-energy performance steeped in Puerto Rican pride and Latin influences. The set featured elaborate tropical and historical motifs, including sugarcane fields symbolizing heritage and resilience. Special guest appearances by Lady Gaga—who joined for a salsainspired rendition—and Ricky Martin elevated the spectacle further, blending reggaeton, salsa, bomba, and other genres in a joyful homage to Latino

culture. The pregame festivities also included Green Day, setting an energetic tone for the night.
For Henry and Dr. Alvarez-Westwood, attending Super Bowl LX was more than witnessing a sporting triumph—it was an inspiring reminder of how discipline, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence transcend the field, driving positive change in law, medicine, and philanthropy alike.

GOLDEN TONES
Golden tones take on a richer, more decadent mood for 2026, where molten metallics meet deep noir and untamed prints. This story pairs high gloss black with warm gold hardware, baroque pearls, and tiger’s eye, proving that opulence is all about texture and contrast. A dramatic leopard coat trimmed in plush shearling sets the tone, while sculptural sunglasses, a heart shaped minaudière in hammered brass, and bold, heirloom worthy jewelry add polish with personality. The result is glamour with edge, luxury that feels powerful, tactile, and unapologetically statement making from head to heel.

CABARET QUEEN MARILYN
A RED-HOT KICKOFF TO HAMPTONS SUMMER SONGBOOK BY THE SEA
Last summer, the Hamptons Summer Songbook by the Sea launched its 2025 season in spectacular fashion, with legendary cabaret star Marilyn Maye headlining the Independence Weekend celebration at LTV Studios in East Hampton (technically Wainscott). Titled “Meet Marvelous Marilyn Maye,” the July 5 performance at 7:30 PM set the tone for an unforgettable summer of song, blending powerhouse vocals, razor-sharp timing, and irresistible showmanship that left the audience electrified.
Produced by Donna Rubin and Josh Gladstone (Creative Director at LTV), the series once again transformed the working television studio into an intimate cabaret haven—complete with café-style seating, flawless acoustics, and a gleaming Baby Grand piano. It remains the East End’s premier spot where Broadway glamour meets beachside elegance.
At 96 (and performing with the vitality of someone decades younger), Marilyn Maye proved why she’s an American treasure. Discovered by Johnny Carson— who booked her on The Tonight Show a record 76 times—Maye has spent over seven decades bridging big band swing,
Broadway classics, and contemporary cabaret. Her July 5 set was a masterclass: dazzling medleys that wove jazz storytelling with heart, humor, and impeccable phrasing. Reviewers called it “cabaret performing at its absolute finest,” praising her energy, command of the stage, and ability to hold the room in thrall. One account described her as bringing “extraordinary magic” to the venue, with the rhythm entirely hers and the crowd hanging on every note.
“Opening this season with Marilyn Maye was a dream come true,” producer Donna Rubin reflected afterward. “She embodies everything the Songbook series stands for—elegance, talent, charisma, and a profound love for the great American songbook.”
The season-opening event included a special reception, drawing devoted theatergoers and newcomers alike to the intimate space. It kicked off a strong third season that ran through August 30, featuring a stellar lineup including Lee Roy Reams, Liz Callaway, Eric Comstock and Barbara Fasano, KT Sullivan and Mark Nadler, international sensation Moipei, and more. The series has solidified its reputation as one of the Hamptons’ most celebrated live music experiences, thanks to its up-close encounters with top-tier talent and atmospheric charm.
Looking back, Maye’s performance stands out as a highlight—proof that timeless artistry knows no expiration date. For those who missed it or want
to relive the magic, the full 2025 season underscored why Hamptons Summer Songbook by the Sea continues to draw crowds: it’s where legends perform, stories unfold, and the great American songbook comes alive by the sea.

SROKA WORLDWIDE ADVISORY NETWORK
STRENGTHENS CROSS BORDER CONNECTIVITY BETWEEN MEXICO AND GLOBAL LUXURY REAL ESTATE MARKETS
WITH CARLOS OROZCO

The Sroka Worldwide Advisory Network (SWAN) today announced that Carlos Orozco has joined the network as a strategic advisor, reinforcing its crossborder platform connecting global luxury developers with qualified Mexican purchasers and positioning Mexican developers in front of key international buyers and advisors.
SWAN is a newly formed expansion of Sroka Worldwide Consulting, founded by Neal J. Sroka, and brings together a curated group of intermediaries who directly influence purchasers of luxury real estate, including elite brokers, family offices, private wealth advisors, and lifestyle and hospitality consultants.
Based in Mexico City and Cancun, Carlos Orozco is the founder and principal of AB Collection, a boutique advisory firm recognized for shaping several of the Mexican Caribbean’s most prominent
luxury residential and hospitality projects. Over the past two decades, Orozco has advised leading developers and ownership groups on market positioning, global sales strategy, and international buyer outreach, helping transform local developments into internationally benchmarked assets.
More recently, Orozco has been deeply involved in structuring cross border sales platforms for projects targeting UHNW buyers from the United States, Europe, and Latin America. His work spans branded residential, resort, and mixed-use developments, and he is widely regarded for his ability to align developers with the right brokers, advisors, and private investor networks rather than relying on broad based brokerage distribution.
Orozco’s inclusion in SWAN formalizes a long-standing alignment and significantly deepens the network’s reach throughout Mexico, while strengthening its relevance for global developers seeking informed access to Mexican buyers.
The advisor driven platform operates independently of traditional brokerage structures, providing developers with direct access to the individuals who influence UHNW purchasing decisions across the United States, Europe, the Caribbean, and the Middle East.

“SWAN reflects the evolution of how luxury real estate is actually transacted today. Carlos brings depth of experience, recent execution, and credibility that further strengthens our ability to operate across borders at the highest level,” said Neal J. Sroka.
“Developers are increasingly focused on quality over quantity,” said Carlos Orozco. “SWAN is built around trusted relationships and informed intermediaries, which is exactly how cross border luxury real estate decisions are made.”

SO CAL FIRE SUPPLY
SETS NATIONAL STANDARDFOR WILDFIRE PROTECTION WITH NEXT-LEVEL MISSIONTO SAFEGUARD COMMUNITIES
With wildfires overwhelming Los Angeles and dominating headlines across the country, dramatically changing the landscape that people live and work in the wildland-urban interface, there’s never been a more urgently compelling time than now to focus on home protection.
As a leading manufacturer of wildfire defense systems in southern California with dedicated expertise harnessed across three decades of experience, Founder Bobby Milstein of So Cal Fire Supply is setting an elevated standard of wildfire safety through education and preparedness.
His wildfire defense systems safeguards properties as urban density and global warming changes the landscape in mountain terrain from California to New Jersey. Milstein’s home-hardening techniques and custom wildfire defense systems work in tandem to mitigate flames, heat and embers from encroaching fire. His methods for preparedness and fire safety provide a wealth of information for everybody and an indispensable resource for
homeowners and private landowners looking to fortify their property and assets against the increasing threat of fires.
Homeowners can no longer count on public emergency response systems currently in place for home defense because of the dense urban landscape and use of insufficient building materials and infrastructure that has been created over the last century. Milstein’s fire-fighting techniques and cutting-edge equipment promote a new radical standard of homeowner self-reliance and accountability that insurance companies are increasingly demanding for wildfire coverage.
So Cal Fire Supply promotes productive conversation in education and training at city and private homeowners’ fire awareness and emergency preparedness meetings on a frequent basis for defense and home hardening techniques. It is simply no longer a matter of putting in an emergency call to the fire department to save your property when there’s a mass outbreak. Public emergency response and city
infrastructure is not logistically designed to handle fires of this magnitude. It’s become a necessity to have a backup plan to survive the scenarios that arise.
Home hardening aims to increase a home’s resistance to wildfire damage, not to make it completely impervious to fire.
BOBBY
MILSTEIN’S 10 HOME FIRE PROTECTION TIPS:
1. Drone Surveys of the home, property and surrounding neighborhood to identify fire threats.
2. Assessment of the ‘Zone Zero’ Defensible Space: The 5ft surround of the house and other structures on the property.
3. Assessment of Outlying Defensible Space: Creating a 30-foot cleared area around the house to prevent flames from reaching the structure. Optimal space between neighboring homes and outlying structures is 30ft.
4. Home Fire Resistance Measures: Ember Sealing of vents, roofs and intrusion points.
5. Home: Installation of fire-resistant
Aerial photo of home saved by So Cal Fire Supply on Big Rock Road in Malibu

windows and doors and sealing gaps and entry points.
6. Home: Exterior surface inspections for cracks in stucco, pipe, plumbing and electrical for fire penetration.
7. Home: Eaves, awnings and exterior furniture inspections.
8. Home: Inspection of utility cabinets attached to the house for air gaps and fire intrusion.
9. Vegetation Management: Brush clearance and landscaping assessment of flammable ornamental fuels.
10. Vegetation Management: Debris under decks and surround and wood pile management.
A First Defender Wildfire Defense System designed by So Cal Fire Supply is a stand-alone system 100% autonomous and activates on its own when smoke is detected by its sensors. Powered by propane fuel, a high-pressure fire pump uses active fire sensors to detect incoming smoke and agricultural grade sprinklers rapidly deploy and deluge the property with an eco-friendly water/ foam mixture requiring no external power or municipal water. All units are custom programmed to take maximum
advantage of water resources available and automated maintenance exercises prevent atrophy.
“We’re in a new era of wildfire management that requires radical change on every level from private homeowners to city and county levels as well,” Milstein emphasizes as America comes off of the horrific wildfires of 2025 that devastated Altadena and Pacific Palisades.
“Preparedness isn’t just an option, it’s a necessity. Our mission is to provide the most effective tools available to save lives, protect property and assets, and support those who risk everything to keep us safe. Our biggest accomplishment during the Woolsey Fire of 2018 was the biggest historic save in LA County of the Calamigos Ranch resort and preservation of 540 full-time jobs and 250-acre iconic LA ranch.”
Bobby Milstein works with people dedicated to the implementation of fire prevention strategies that minimize risk and enhance community resilience with
a focus on self-reliance. With longer and more destructive fire seasons becoming the norm, So Cal Fire Supply urges homeowners, communities, businesses, and wildfire outreach programs to take a proactive approach to wildfire preparedness, and offers the expertise, training and equipment to implement necessary changes as promptly and effectively as possible.
ABOUT SO CAL FIRE SUPPLY:
Founded in 2009, So Cal Fire Supply is a leading provider of wildfire suppression and prevention solutions dedicated strictly for wildfire defense, serving fire departments, municipalities, and private entities across the U.S. Founded by industry expert Bobby Milstein, the company specializes in high-quality wildfire defense systems, firefighting equipment, safety gear, and cutting-edge fire mitigation strategies and private fire brigades to combat the increasing threat of wildfires nationwide.

SOLD-OUT
OPENING
FOR “AN EMPIRE FALLEN” BY AL DIAZ IN
NEW YORK CITY
One Art Space in Tribeca launched its highly anticipated exhibition An Empire Fallen, a solo show by pioneering graffiti artist Al Diaz, to an enthusiastic packed house of collectors, curators, and New York art world insiders. The opening reception celebrated the legendary street artist’s latest body of work, which explored the fall and reinvention of cultural empires through Diaz’s signature fusion of text, symbolism, and raw socio-political commentary.
A first-generation subway graffiti artist by age 15, Diaz rose to prominence through his groundbreaking collaboration with Jean-Michel Basquiat on the iconic SAMO© graffiti project, a cornerstone of New York’s late-1970s avant-garde scene. An Empire Fallen extended that legacy — a meditation on rebellion, language, and survival in
an ever-shifting urban landscape. “The opening was electric. You could feel how deeply this city still connects to his story.”
“Al Diaz represents the heartbeat of New York’s art underground — rebellious, poetic, and historically resonant,” said MaryAnn Giella McCulloh, co-owner of One Art Space.
The exhibition, which ran through Monday, November 10, 2025, drew widespread attention from critics and collectors alike throughout its run. A special artist talk with Al Diaz took place on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 6:00–8:00 PM, offering attendees an intimate conversation with the artist about the evolution of his work from
graffiti to fine art. Notable attendees included: Al Diaz, MaryAnn Giella McCulloh, Mei Fung, Alexis Adler, Charlie Ahearn, Dr. Robi Ludwig, Bill McCulloh, Billy McCulloh, and Madison McCulloh.
ABOUT AL DIAZ:
A fixture of the downtown New York art scene, Al Diaz (b. 1959, New York City) is a pioneering first-generation graffiti artist and mixed-media creator whose career spans over five decades. Raised in a Lower East Side housing project as a Puerto Rican New Yorker, Diaz began writing graffiti at age 12 under the moniker “BOMB-ONE,” tagging trains, buses, and urban surfaces with bold, prolific energy that marked him as an influential figure in the city’s
early subway graffiti movement. By his mid-teens, he was already a respected name in the underground scene, driven by a rebellious spirit and sharp social observation.
Diaz rose to international prominence through his groundbreaking collaboration with Jean-Michel Basquiat on the iconic SAMO© project in the late 1970s. The duo—teenage friends who bonded over shared Hispanic roots, art, music, and a disdain for conformity— flooded Lower Manhattan and SoHo with cryptic, poetic street messages signed “SAMO©” (short for “Same Old Shit”), accompanied by the copyright symbol to mock commercialization. Phrases like “SAMO© SAVES IDIOTS” and “SAMO© AS A CONGLOMERATE OF DORMANT GENIUS” became a hallmark of the era’s avant-garde rebellion, blending wit, critique, and philosophy. The partnership ended in 1980 when they publicly “killed” SAMO© with tags declaring “SAMO© IS DEAD,” signaling
a shift in their paths—though Diaz’s influence endured as a foundational element of street art’s transition to the fine art world.
Following the SAMO© era, Diaz continued evolving as an independent artist, navigating personal challenges including a 19-year battle with addiction before a powerful resurgence. His work transitioned from pure graffiti to sophisticated text-based mixed media, installations, and anagram-driven pieces that repurpose everyday urban elements—like NYC’s “WET PAINT” signs—into clever, socially reflective commentary. Themes of corporate control, misguided government, cultures of excess, disposable values, widespread apathy, bittersweet nostalgia, and cultural erosion remain central, delivered through layered photographic images, vibrant paint, rhythmic multi-panel sequences, and unapologetic poetic rhetoric. His art serves as a multi-layered examination
of power, consumerism, and the cyclical fall and rise of urban empires, proving that language and rebellion can endure as powerfully as any canvas or wall.
Today, Diaz remains a vital voice in New York’s underground and contemporary art scenes, with recent solo exhibitions like An Empire Fallen (2025) at One Art Space in Tribeca showcasing breakthrough maturity in mixedmedia responses to global frustrations and unseen NYC works. His pieces have appeared in galleries worldwide, collaborations (including early sound projects like Beat Bop with Rammellzee), public installations, and major media coverage, solidifying his status as a creative disruptor. Diaz’s enduring reminder—that sharp words and defiant expression can outlast empires— continues to inspire new generations of artists and collectors alike.

“NOT
ARTIFACT PROJECTS OPENING FOR
JUST A BARN” DON HERSHMAN
AT ARTIFACT PROJECTS IN NEW YORK CITY
California-based painter and surgeon Don Hershman launched his new solo exhibition I AM A BARN at Artifact Projects in New York City. His new exhibition captures the quiet dignity and weatherworn strength of rural barns, transformed into monumental meditations on human resilience and can be viewed at the Gallery Wednesday through Saturday, 12:00pm–6:00pm each week through October 26th,
I AM A BARN marks Hershman’s first major New York City solo show since 2023, following a dynamic 2025 season of exhibitions in San Francisco, Pleasanton, and Sonoma County. Crafted in layers of acrylic, ink, and pencil on large-scale wood panels, Hershman’s barns are more than just buildings. They are symbolic portraits — cracked, bowed, enduring — echoing the scars and strength that
come with time. “Each aging plank tells a story”, Says Hershman. “These barns mirror our own human journey: tested by the elements, shaped by trials, yet still standing.”
Notable Attendees included: Noreen Donovan, Ryan Roth, Brendan Roth, Stacy Schneider, Dr. Robi Ludwig, Kelly Hershman, Ben Bellow, Stella Bellow, Heather Bellow, Cory Cain Barton, and Gigi Salomon.
ABOUT DON HERSHMAN:
Don Hershman leads a dual life of accomplished podiatric surgeon and fine art painter. As a child, Don Hershman was profoundly influenced by his field trips to the world-class museums such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He fantasized about becoming an
artist, drawing incessantly, creating sketchbooks, and experimenting with color well into high school. When it came time to choose a career, he felt compelled to lock in a secure path that pointed toward medicine.
During medical school and surgical residency, he continued to draw, enabling him to better conceptualize the intricate spatial relationships between anatomical structures. As with a scalpel, he began to perfect his command of the pencil and paintbrush.
Donald went on to receive his BA in premed with psychology from State University of New York at Buffalo and trained in podiatry at California college of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco before establishing his own private practice there in the early 1980s. As he

was building his medical practice, Don was also evolving a body of artwork, exploring various media in the form of drawings and paintings, and finding his voice as an artist. While hosting a party in 1992, with many of his new artworks hanging in his home, Donald was invited by a guest, a curator at the Spectrum Gallery, to participate in a group show she was organizing. To his surprise, all of his pieces in that show sold, giving Donald the confidence and inspiration he needed to push on more seriously with his art.
Hershman’s work has been collected nationally and internationally. His paintings have been jury-selected for the de Young Open (2020, 2023) and exhibited in solo shows, including Donald and Victor: Under the Influence (2021) and Code Switching (2023) at Salomon Arts Gallery in New York. His I AM A BARN series, exploring resilience through aging structures, was exhibited at Radian Gallery in San Francisco and featured on the cover of San Francisco Arts Monthly magazine (2024).
In 2025, Hershman’s work was on view at 45 Fremont and One Front Street in San Francisco, and featured at Sea Ranch Lodge (Sonoma County), with solo exhibitions at Firehouse Arts Center (Pleasanton, CA), and MAG Galleries (San Francisco), with an upcoming show at Wessling Contemporary (San Francisco) in November.

CANVAS MEETS CODE
HOW ARTEM MIROLEVICH AND DMITRY TREKHSVYATSKY’S
In the fast-evolving landscape of contemporary art, where artificial intelligence generates images in seconds and virtual realities blur the line between spectator and participant, a quiet but powerful revolution has been unfolding. It began modestly in May 2025 with Code & Canvas, a 10day exhibition at Salomon Arts Gallery in New York’s Tribeca district, and it has since grown into one of the most compelling examples of thoughtful, human-driven hybrid creativity in 2026.
The story starts on May 6, 2025, when the gallery at 83 Leonard Street, FL4, hosted a VIP reception that felt more like a salon than a standard opening. Amid the exposed brick and industrial chic of the space, guests including surrealist painter Artem Mirolevich, gallery principals Rodrigo Salomon
and Gigi Salomon, nightlife icon Carmen D’Alessio, and Tina Radziwill encountered a seamless fusion of old and new. Mirolevich’s intricate oil paintings, etchings, and mixed-media works, dense with surreal visions of crumbling civilizations, biomechanical flora, and humanity’s fraught dance with technology, were brought to life by digital artist Dmitry Trekhsvyatsky’s projections, interactive mappings, and algorithmic animations. Viewers did not just look; they activated the pieces through subtle movements, watching static canvases pulse with light, evolve in real time, and respond to the room’s energy.
The event’s atmosphere was electric: Pop Up Events NYC provided elegant bites, Aphrodise supplied signature cocktails, and the appointment-only
hours (Monday to Friday, noon to 6 p.m.) created an exclusive feel.
Mirolevich, born in Belarus and long based in New York, has always been a bridge-builder. A graduate of the School of Visual Arts with exchange time at Amsterdam’s Gerrit Rietveld Academie, he draws from Albrecht Dürer’s obsessive detail, Salvador Dalí’s psychological surrealism, and the dynamic storytelling of manga. His works, shown in over 100 exhibitions across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the U.S., layer fantastical scenes with urgent subtext: warnings about climate collapse, critiques of rampant consumerism, meditations on how technology both elevates and erodes the human spirit. As founder of initiatives like the Russian Pavilion and Art Cosmos, he has championed Eastern European voices on the global stage.
Trekhsvyatsky, his long-term art partner, brings a complementary fluency in digital realms. His contributions, projection mapping, immersive environments, and responsive code, do not overshadow the physical artwork; they extend it, turning paintings into living ecosystems. In Code & Canvas, the result was a rare equilibrium: analog precision met digital possibility, inviting viewers to ponder whether the “true” artwork resided in the brushstroke or the algorithm.
The exhibition closed on May 15, 2025, but its influence did not fade. By late 2025, Mirolevich and Trekhsvyatsky were scaling their vision. December announcements teased a major new chapter: a solo presentation of largescale paintings at Hilton Miami Aventura, featuring seven monumental works and a signature immersive installation co-created with Trekhsvyatsky. The opening on January 7, 2026 (titled When We Where Giants in some promotions, When We Were Giants or When We Were Titans in others) transformed the hotel into a multi-sensory arena. Live
music, body painting performances, experimental “robot painting” demonstrations, live TV coverage, and an open bar for the first hour drew crowds eager for glamour-infused art. The exhibition, still on display through April 2026, builds directly on Code & Canvas. Projection mapping envelops viewers in animated extensions of Mirolevich’s canvases; interactive elements respond to presence; the overall experience feels cinematic and communal. Recent posts from Mirolevich highlight ongoing work in progress, including large-scale cityscape oils reminiscent of Venice, layered with his trademark surreal twists. He is also in residency at The Pearl in Fort Lauderdale via @artistsalapts, mentoring students and continuing to produce.
This evolution mirrors wider shifts in 2026’s art world. As major institutions grapple with AI’s role, hybrid shows like these remind us that technology can amplify human expression rather than supplant it. Mirolevich and Trekhsvyatsky avoid gimmickry; their collaborations feel deliberate, rooted in

mutual respect and shared inquiry into civilization’s future.
Mirolevich’s trajectory remains dynamic: recent features at events like Miami Art Week precursors, ongoing explorations of gold-leaf techniques, and new immersive formats keep him at the forefront. For the latest, visit www.artemart.com orartemirogallery.com, or follow on Instagram and Threads @arte_miro, and LinkedIn: artem-mirolevich.
A year after Code & Canvas first lit up Tribeca, the partnership has proven enduring and expansive. What began as a bold dialogue between canvas and code has become a model for the next era of art, one where tradition and innovation do not compete, but conspire to create something greater. In 2026, as the boundaries continue to dissolve, Mirolevich and Trekhsvyatsky are not just keeping pace; they are helping define where the conversation goes next.

THE SLATTERY GALLERY OPENED IN SOUTHAMPTON WITH THE FIRST SOLO HAMPTONS EXHIBITION OF IRISH ARTIST
GERARD BYRNE
LEGENDARY SOCIETY PHOTOGRAPHER
PATRICK MCMULLAN
HOSTED A GLITTERING SOUTHAMPTON
VIP PREMIERE FOR ARTIST GERARD BYRNE
The Hamptons social and art scenes converged last summer as Irish artist Gerard Byrne was welcomed with a glittering reception at The Slattery Gallery in Southampton for his first solo exhibition in the Hamptons. Hosted by legendary society photographer Patrick McMullan—the undisputed chronicler of New York and Hamptons high society who has documented icons across decades—the opening drew an enthusiastic mix of collectors, curators, philanthropists, and cultural tastemakers. This star-studded event not
only celebrated Byrne’s signature style but also marked his triumphant arrival on the East End art stage, while serving as the grand launch of the new Slattery Gallery itself, instantly establishing it as a must-visit cultural destination.
Guests arrived at the gallery on Saturday, August 30, 2025, to view Byrne’s exhibition, titled Stillness in Motion: Seeing Light Anew. The show ran through Monday, October 13, 2025, and was described by McMullan as “a luminous exploration of light, form, and memory.” It introduced Byrne’s distinctive interpretations of Impressionism and contemporary realism to Hamptons audiences for the first time in a solo setting, featuring more than twenty original works— including plein air paintings capturing the unique light of Southampton (some
created on-site) and a selection of largescale studio pieces spanning landscapes, figurative works, still lifes, and seascapes with subtle nods to his native Ireland.
McMullan remarked that hosting Byrne’s debut was a natural extension of his own passion for both the art world and the Hamptons cultural community, lending the evening an extra layer of prestige and positioning it as one of the summer’s standout events.
The Slattery Gallery—then newly established at 30A Jobs Lane in the heart of Southampton Village—provided a fitting, intimate stage. Guests mingled as natural light poured through the front windows, creating a dynamic, ever-shifting backdrop that perfectly complemented Byrne’s canvases and their trademark sensitivity to tone,

texture, vibrant palette, and expressive brushwork.
Notable attendees included John Slattery, Gerard Byrne, Patrick McMullan, Agata Byrne, Damien Roman, Jean Shafiroff, Leesa Rowland, Melanie Wambold, Nancy Stone, Leila Pinto, Ron Burkhardt, Sophie Rose Slattery, Nicole Salmasi, Lucia Hwong Gordon, James Byrnes, and Noreen Donovan.
Since its successful inaugural season, which wrapped with high praise for bridging Irish and American creativity, Slattery Gallery has continued to thrive as a forward-thinking hub. The gallery closed out 2025 with exhibitions including a Man Ray showcase alongside masters like Pablo Picasso, Willem de Kooning, Sean Scully, and Hunt Slonem, followed by its first Holiday Group
Exhibit running from November 14, 2025, through January 26, 2026. Gerard Byrne remains closely tied to the space as artist-in-residence, with plans for a major solo exhibition there in August 2026—part of his expanding long-term presence in the U.S. art world (including another solo show at One Art Space in Tribeca later that year). The gallery is actively preparing an ambitious 2026 program featuring additional exhibitions, cultural dialogues, and collaborations that further celebrate the interplay of Irish and American contemporary art, alongside exceptional Post-War and Modern masterworks.

The evening unfolded as a perfect fusion of intimacy and grandeur. Guests arrived to a lavish cocktail reception amid the lush gardens and stunning grounds, mingling over exquisite hors d’oeuvres

THE HAMPTONS GARDEN GALA 2026 IS SCHEDULED FOR
SATURDAY, AUGUST 8, 2026,
AT THE PRIVATE RESIDENCE IN WATER MILL, NEW YORK
The gala built excitement that had been building since earlier in the summer. A kick-off gathering at the Silversteins’ home welcomed friends and supporters to launch the campaign, drawing notable attendees including Patricia and Roger Silverstein, Brian Packin, Carrie Packin, Jean Shafiroff, Noreen Donovan, James Byrnes, Peter Thomas Roth, and Rebecca Seawright. That preview set the tone for what became an unforgettable celebration of progress toward eradicating diabetes.
Post-event reflections from organizers and participants described the 2025 edition as a resounding success, marked by heartfelt generosity and meaningful connections. Coverage in outlets like Dan’s Papers, Black Tie Magazine, and Hamptons Party Girl highlighted the evening’s elegance and the tangible support it generated for DRIF’s singular mission: to cure diabetes through innovative, multidisciplinary research that restores natural insulin production and frees individuals from the daily burdens of the disease. While exact fundraising totals were not publicly detailed in all reports, the event’s impact was clear in its ability to rally
high-profile philanthropists, inspire hope, and channel resources toward groundbreaking clinical trials and prevention efforts.
The Silverstein Dream Foundation, founded by Patricia and Roger Silverstein, continues to lead with a focused strategy. Its work centers on three pillars: supporting academic research, implementing diabetes prevention programs, and making strategic investments in earlystage companies poised to advance treatments. By bridging these areas, the foundation accelerates the journey from laboratory breakthroughs to real-world impact, addressing not only diabetes itself but also the chronic inflammatory conditions that often accompany it. silversteindreamfoundation.com
The Diabetes Research Institute Foundation remains the steadfast partner in this endeavor. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with thousands of supporters worldwide—and offices in Florida and New York—DRIF channels every dollar toward its core goal: a biological cure that eliminates the need for insulin and constant monitoring. Clinical progress
has offered glimmers of that future, with some type 1 diabetes patients achieving insulin independence through advanced therapies. For millions affected by the disease, DRIF represents the unwavering commitment that “tomorrow is not soon enough.”
One year on, the legacy of the 2025 Hamptons Garden Gala endures. The event’s success has fueled momentum for the Silverstein Dream Foundation’s ongoing initiatives, including the recent Healthcare Biotech & AI Conference in December 2025, which explored innovations at the intersection of health, technology, and life sciences. Looking ahead, the foundation has already announced the Hamptons Garden Gala 2026, promising another season of inspiration and impact at the same storied Water Mill venue.
In an era when chronic illness affects so many, evenings like the Hamptons Garden Gala remind us of the power of community, elegance, and unrelenting optimism. Thanks to hosts like Patricia and Roger Silverstein, the path toward a diabetes-free future feels a little closer— and infinitely more hopeful.

It was an evening where the power of the written word—both on the page and in the lives it transforms—took center

stage, drawing together media icons, authors, journalists, and civic leaders in a shared celebration of education as a force for equity and opportunity.
The gala opened with a waterfront cocktail reception overlooking the Hudson, setting a tone of warmth and anticipation. Guests then moved into dinner amid elegant waterfront views, where the program unfolded with heartfelt remarks from Literacy Partners students sharing personal stories of
transformation. A poignant tribute honored the late author Barbara Taylor Bradford, whose legacy of storytelling and resilience aligned perfectly with the organization’s mission. The highlight came when global media leader Oprah Winfrey took the stage as a special guest and presenter, delivering remarks that underscored the profound, generational impact of literacy. Her presence amplified the evening’s message: reading is not just a skill—it’s a gateway to dignity, independence, and possibility.

EVENT RAISES $1,180,000 TO SUPPORT LIFE-CHANGING LITERACY PROGRAMS
E.K. Lewis, Elyse Mayer, Spencer Graham McFadden Hoge, Jean Shafiroff, Jonathan Karp (CEO, Simon & Schuster), Jon Yaged (CEO, Macmillan), Joni Evans, and Elizabeth T. Peabody. Coverage from outlets like People, The Knockturnal, Harlem World Magazine, and Resident Magazine captured the glamour and purpose, with photos showing an electric mix of black-tie elegance and genuine connection.
Proceeds from the night directly bolster Literacy Partners’ evidence-based programs, which serve adults, parents, and caregivers in high-need areas including New York City, Philadelphia, Nevada, and San Diego, reaching participants from 30 states and Puerto Rico. Grounded in the Science of Reading, these initiatives help families build stronger foundations through literacy, parenting education, and workforce readiness—two generations at a time.
In the months since June 2025, the gala’s impact has continued to unfold. Funds have supported expanded virtual and in-person tutoring, professional
development for educators, and outreach in underserved communities. The organization’s work remains vital in an era when adult literacy challenges affect millions, limiting access to jobs, health information, and civic engagement. Literacy Partners’ commitment to measurable progress— through research-backed methods and community partnerships—offers a model of hope and action.
As 2026 begins, Literacy Partners carries forward the momentum from that unforgettable evening. The 2025 gala stands as a testament to what collective belief in education can achieve: not just dollars raised, but lives changed, stories amplified, and futures brightened. For those inspired to get involved— whether through volunteering, donating, or attending future events— more information is available at literacypartners.org.
In retrospect, the 2025 Evening of Readings & Gala Dinner was more than a fundraiser; it was a powerful reminder that literacy remains one of
society’s most transformative tools— and that when luminaries and everyday advocates unite around it, extraordinary change becomes possible.

SAMUEL WAXMAN CANCER RESEARCH FOUNDATION
HOSTED THE 43 RD ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT AT THE FRESH MEADOW COUNTRY CLUB
The Fresh Meadow Country Club in Lake Success, NY was once again the scenic location for the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation’s (SWCRF) Annual Golf Tournament. More than 80 participants enjoyed a spectacular day on the green to raise more than $200,000 for groundbreaking cancer research programs aimed at eradicating cancer and developing innovative and more effective treatments with less harmful side effects. And thanks to a partnership with The Mark Foundation for Cancer Research, all funds raised at the tournament will be matched, dollar for dollar.
Over the last 20 years, scientific advancements have led to a decrease in cancer mortality by nearly 30 percent. Yet, despite this significant progress in treatment and prevention, cancer incidence is increasing worldwide. In fact, according to the World Health Organization, cancer incidence is expected to rise to 35 million cases globally by 2050, up from 20 million in 2022. This is primarily driven by an aging population, since aging is the number one risk factor for cancer.

“Our mission has always been to eradicate cancer through groundbreaking research, but we also recognize that to truly change the trajectory of this disease, we must confront its greatest risk factor: aging. By advancing research that addresses the biology of aging, we are opening new doors to prevention and treatment strategies that can improve lives and bring us closer to a world without cancer.”
Gary Jacob, Executive VP Glenwood Management Corp., and Dennis Herman, Chairman and CEO of Beekman International Center, Ltd., co-chaired the SWCRF Golf Tournament. The golf
committee members incldued Frederick W. Barney, Jr., Robert Eichler, Michael Hight, Gerard F. Joyce, Jr., Samuel Waxman, MD, and Ari Zagdanski.
ABOUT THE SAMUEL WAXMAN CANCER RESEARCH FOUNDATION:
The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF) is a leading international nonprofit organization committed to eradicating cancer through innovative and collaborative research. Since its founding in 1976, SWCRF has awarded more than $120 million to support the work of over 200 distinguished scientists worldwide. At the forefront of a global effort to confront the increasing incidence of cancer associated with aging, the Foundation funds cross-institutional research aimed at identifying and correcting abnormal gene functions that drive both cancer and aging. SWCRF is dedicated to advancing minimally toxic therapies to prevent and treat cancer, with the ultimate goal of improving patient outcomes and quality of life. waxmancancer.org

Coinciding with the organization’s 50th anniversary celebrations throughout the year, the free, family- and pet-friendly fair celebrated the unwavering joy that cats and dogs bring to our lives and highlighted ARF’s half-century of dedicated rescue work.
Families flocked to the adoption center with their four-legged companions for an afternoon packed with tail-wagging fun and meaningful connections. of the individuals who power ARF’s mission—including contributions to the Pet Food Pantry, youth education programs, and the new low-cost spay/ neuter services.

SWCRF 4TH ANNUAL KIDS CANCEL CANCER: THE EVENTLED BY TEENAGE ADVOCATES RAISES $100,000 TO SUPPORT PEDIATRIC CANCER RESEARCH
On August 12, 2025, the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF) hosted its 4th Annual Kids Cancel Cancer at The Clubhouse in East Hampton. This kid-created, kidled fundraiser combined arcade games, miniature golf, great food, and exciting live/silent auctions to support pediatric cancer research—all with donations matched dollar-for-dollar by the Mark Foundation for Cancer Research.
Guided by teenage co-chairs Mischa Abend, Abey Fuks, Ava Litman, and Hayley Silvers, the event raised nearly $100,000 (excluding the match), funding four innovative researchers dedicated to childhood cancers. It showcased how young people can become powerful philanthropists and advocates.
A poignant moment came from survivor Ben Kahne, who spoke about his diagnosis with a rare brain tumor at age 21 while in college. After successful treatment, he credited life-saving research: “I likely would not be alive without the scientific advancements in cancer treatment.”
Dr. Samuel Waxman, SWCRF Founder and CEO, celebrated the effort: “Kids Cancel Cancer proves philanthropy—at any age—can drive real change. With federal funding challenges, private support like this is vital to speed discoveries and offer hope to affected children and families.”
Progress has been significant—a 65% drop in childhood cancer deaths since 1970—but the disease remains a top cause of disease-related death in kids worldwide. The WHO reports over 400,000 new cases (ages 0–19) annually; in the U.S., about 10,500 children (0–14) were diagnosed in 2025, with over 1,000 lives lost.
Co-chairs: Mischa Abend, Abey Fuks, Ava Litman, Hayley Silvers.
2025 DONOR RECOGNITION:

Experiencing Transcendence: The Freedom of Recovering from Addiction and Trauma (released October 2025) is a timely, conversation-starting gift for anyone interested in mental health, healing, and personal transformation—co-authored by addiction recovery expert Richard Taite, founder and executive chairman, Carrara Treatment Wellness & Spa and chairman, 1 Method Centers, and resilience researcher Constance Scharff, PhD. Challenging the idea that addiction must be managed as a lifelong “chronic illness,” the book reframes recovery as a complete, achievable process rooted in trauma healing, compassion, and connection, and introduces a newly defined “sixth stage” of change—Transcendence—designed to move readers beyond maintenance into lasting wholeness. Blending neuroscience insights, composite case studies, and practical exercises, it offers a hopeful, actionable framework for posttraumatic growth and genuine freedom. experiencingtranscendence.com

Conquer the Slopes: Five Alpine Anchors
For downhill days, build your itinerary around the region’s five cornerstone ski areas. Each mountain offers a distinct personality and robust programming, making them the core alpine options for any winter traveler: Berkshire East Ski Area, Bousquet Mountain, Catamount Mountain Resort, Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort, and Ski Butternut. Typically, downhill operations run through mid-March, conditions permitting, solidifying February as the prime, most reliable window for planning your winter trip to the Berkshires.
Ski Under the Stars: Nightlife on the Mountain
Night skiing is not just an activity; it is part of the Berkshires’ winter DNA and the perfect way to turn a day trip into a memorable evening out. Bousquet proudly boasts a history dating back to 1936, when floodlights were first installed—a
legacy that continues to define its legendary after-dark appeal today. For those seeking more turns beyond daylight, look to Catamount and Jiminy Peak, which also offer extensive nightskiing options.
What’s New and Noteworthy This Season
Keep your eyes on the latest mountain enhancements. Ski Butternut has injected fresh momentum into its on-mountain experience by installing the new Skytrac lift, “Jane’s Quad,” for the 2026 season. For visitors demanding a resort-scale day on the snow, Jiminy Peak stands as a natural anchor, widely recognized as the state’s largest ski area.
Fun for Everyone: Tubing and Lessons
Winter sports are for everyone, and the Berkshires make them exceptionally accessible. Tubing and comprehensive

learn-to-ski programs are explicitly included in the winter sports highlights. Berkshire East is a premier family-friendly destination, expertly pairing downhill skiing, snowboarding, and tubing with top-tier lessons and engaging youth programs.
Beyond the Chairlift: Nordic Adventures
Not every exhilarating Berkshire winter day requires a chairlift. Cross-country skiers and snowshoers can immerse themselves in groomed, scenic serenity. Some great Nordic options include Notchview Reservation and Maple Corner Farm. Be sure to check out other stellar spots such as Hilltop Orchards, which is also home to JMash Cidery and Furnace Brook Winery. You should also visit the Greylock Glen.
