EGYPS 2022 – THE BEATING HEART OF THE REGIONS OIL, GAS AND ENERGY INDUSTRY EGYPS a Gateway for Cooperation Opportunities Under the auspices of His Excellency President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the fifth edition of the Egypt Petroleum Show (EGYPS 2022) kicks off to connect the global energy market’s major players, all under one roof. Living up to its theme “North Africa and the Mediterranean: Delivering Energy Today”, this year EGYPS has opened its doors against all odds and in defiance of all pandemic-related obstacles to deliver immediate results in being the industry’s catalyst. With the participation of over 450 exhibitors and 26,000 expected visitors, it is self-evident that EGYPS is a unique place where oil and gas ties are developed, business is conducted, and professionals are able to network and share industry expertise and knowledge. EGYPS plays an essential role in the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ efforts in developing and modernising the country’s booming sector by attracting not only the industry’s muscle and money, but the innovative minds and youthful energy that will drive Egypt’s energy sector forward.

In recognising the importance of reducing carbon emissions and building upon Egypt’s commitment to The Paris Agreement, EGYPS also brings a number of inspirational roundtables, tackling topics such as hydrogen production, sustainable energy financing, and the essential elements of the energy transition. This year those who have had notable accomplishments in various fields will receive the recognition and appreciation that they deserve. To this end, EGYPS will be giving out the Global HSE Excellence in Energy Awards, Global Finance & Investment Awards, and Global Equality in Energy Awards. With the world recovering from the economic fallout of the global pandemic, EGYPS is committed to moving forward with its agenda to build on the rapid development of Egypt’s energy sector, taking all necessary safety precautions for the benefit of both visitors and exhibitors. This year, as EGYPS opens its doors to new visitors, it also seeks to open new windows of opportunity and the way to a better future.

Aiming to target youth, the EGYPS Youth Engagement Programme and the EGYPS Young Professionals programme are two interesting initiatives, sponsored by ExxonMobil and Petrojet, that will take place to prepare tomorrow’s generation to take control as the industry moves forward. Adding to the engaging experience that the exhibitions will offer visitors, this year’s show will feature a host of stimulating roundtable discussions, conferences, and panels, addressing a range of different issues concerning all areas of the industry. These include the Strategic Conference, Technical Conference, Finance & Investment Summit, HSE in Energy Conference, and Equality in Energy Conference. Some of these events will witness the participation of the industry’s most important figures, including H.E. Minister of Petroleum & Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla. It will also include the East Mediterranean Gas Forum’s (EMGF) Secretary General Osama Mobarez, the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) Executive Director Fatih Birol, and many more. At the centre of all of this, discussions at EGYPS will revolve most notably around digitalisation and digital transformation, which have become the essential ingredients for progress. At this edition of the show, EGYPS will also be hosting the Digitalisation in Energy Zone, sponsored by Enppi and Esri, offering a platform for exhibitors to showcase a wide variety of digital innovations and technological solutions that aim to transform the sector.

In the past two years, many achievements ❝ have been fulfilled. The Egyptian oil and gas sector has managed to boost investment climate and achieve unprecedented records of foreign and national investments in the oil & gas sector allowing us to increase our contribution to the national economy.
