تعرف على أفضل 10شركات طٌران لعام 2020 ّ

1 الناقل الوطنً اإلماراتً ٌمتلك أضخم أسطول بـ 268طائرة ..وٌحلق إلى 158وجهة فً 85دولة «طٌران اإلمارات» 34عاما ً من الرٌادة والهٌمنة على أسواق الطٌران كاظم 864 :ملٌار درهم إٌرادات «اإلماراتٌة» فً 34عاما ً ..ونستهدف تولٌد إٌرادات جدٌدة أسطول «اإلماراتٌة» سٌتجاوز 300طائرة ..و 30وجهة جدٌدة خالل 10سنوات مقبلة % 77نسبة إشغال المقاعد خالل األشهر الـ 6الماضٌة ..ونستهدف الوصول إلى %80 دبً ـ مصطفى صالح دشنت شركة طٌران اإلمارات عملٌاتها الرسمٌة فً ٌوم 25أكتوبر ،1985لتكون الناقل الوطنً لإلمارات ،حٌث انطلقت فً البداٌة بطائرتٌن مستؤجرتٌن من الخطوط الباكستانٌة ،واحدة من طراز «إٌرباص «A300واألخرى «بوٌنغ .»737 ومنذ تدشٌنها قبل 34عاما ،بدأت طٌران اإلمارات فً التوسع بشكل مدروس وبتخطٌط متقن تحت قٌادة الشٌخ أحمد بن سعٌد آل مكتوم لفرد أجنحتها على العالم ،ومنافسة أعرق وأكبر شركات الطٌران العالمٌة ،لتصبح اآلن أحد الكبار المهٌمنٌن على أسواق الطٌران العالمٌة ،بفضل امتالكها أسطوال ضخما مكون من 268طائرة من طرازي «إٌرباص «A380و«بوٌنغ ،»777وشبكة خطوط واسعة تغطً 158وجهة فً 85دولة ضمن قارات العالم الست بما معدله 1800رحلة أسبوعٌا. ركائز أساسٌة وبالحدٌث مع الرئٌس التنفٌذي للعملٌات التجارٌة فً الشركة عدنان كاظم ،اوضح أن نموذج العمل لدٌة ٌسٌر وفقا الستراتٌجٌة عمل تعتمد على 3ركائز أساسٌة ،هً :المرونة ،الجودة ،ومعدالت النمو ،حٌث ٌإكد على أن الشركة تتعامل بمرونة عالٌة مع المستجدات التً تطرأ على السوق بصورة سرٌعة ،وفق أعلى معدالت الجودة فً تقدٌم الخدمات. وٌضٌف كاظم أن «طٌران اإلمارات» تمكنت من تحقٌق 864ملٌار درهم إٌرادات تشغٌلٌة منذ تؤسٌسها قبل 34 عاما ،مشٌرا إلى أن التوجه المستقبلً للشركةٌ ،ستهدف تولٌد إٌرادات جدٌدة من خالل استثمارات ومصادر بدٌلة، مع الحفاظ على فعالٌتها ،من خالل تكوٌن هٌكل تنظٌمً ٌتواءم مع التحدٌاتٌ ،تمكن من خلق إٌرادات جدٌدة فً المستقبل ،مع االستمرار فً عملٌة نمو الشركة ورفع معدالت إشغال المقاعد. ولفت إلى أن نسبة إشغال المقاعد على رحالت «طٌران اإلمارات» خالل فترة االشهر الستة األولى من السنة المالٌة الماضٌة بلغت نحو ،%77متوقعا أن تكون نسبة اإلشغال خالل العام الحالً أفضل ،حٌث تستهدف الشركة الوصول إلى نسبة إشغال تفوق %80بنهاٌة العام المالً الحالً مع تخطٌط لرفع تلك النسبة مستقبال. توسعات مستقبلٌة وأوضح كاظم أن التوسعات المستقبلٌة سترتكز بصورة كبٌرة على التغٌرات التً ستطرأ على األسطول من خالل الصفقات الجدٌدة ،التً ستمكن الناقلة من الوصول إلى وجهات ال تستطٌع خدمتها تجارٌا عبر أسطولها الحالً ،مبٌنا أن هناك توسعا مستقبلٌا مستمرا ٌرتكز على تحدٌث وتوسٌع األسطول خالل السنوات العشر المقبلة ،حٌث بدأت «طٌران اإلمارات» تقلٌل عدد طائرات «إٌرباص « ،A380وسٌكون تركٌزها أكثر على الطائرات متوسطة السعة االدارة العامة للعالقات العامة والمراسم المقعدٌة.

2 واشار إلى أن الصفقات الجدٌدة تحقق تلك االستراتٌجٌة إذ تتضمن 40طائرة إٌرباص ،A330 NEOو 30أخرى من طراز ،A350-900باإلضافة إلى 40طائرة من طراز «بوٌنغ 787درٌمالٌنر» ،بتكلفة إجمالٌة تصل إلى 21 ملٌار دوالر. وأشار إلى أن تلك الطائرات ستحقق فائدة عظٌمة للشركة إذ ستتٌح لها عامل المرونة فً التشغٌل إلى وجهات جدٌدة لم تكن تستطٌع الدخول إلٌها بحكم كبر حجم طائرات أسطولها الحالً ،خصوصا أن متوسط عدد مقاعد الطائرة الواحدة فً الوقت الراهن 440مقعدا وهو ما ٌمنعها من دخول األسواق المتوسطة والصغٌرة. وذكر أن الطائرات الجدٌدة ستكون بسعة مقعدٌة أقل تتراوح بٌن 250و 290مقعدا للطائرة الواحدة ،ما سٌمكن الشركة خالل السنوات الخمس المقبلة من التركٌز على دخول أسواق متوسطة الحجم ،حٌث تستهدف بصورة كبٌرة التوسع فً عملٌاتها بؤفرٌقٌا ،وجزء من شرق آسٌا ،وفً أمٌركا أٌضا خصوصا بالمحطات التً لم تستطع دخولها بسبب حجم الطلب فٌها ،والتً تعد خدمتها بطائرات األسطول الحالً مكلفة وغٌر مجدٌة تجارٌا ،ولكن مع الطائرات الجدٌدة ستشكل تلك األسواق إضافة قوٌة لعملٌات الناقلة. 300طائرة ووجهات عدٌدة واشار كاظم إلى أن الولوج إلى تلك األسواق سٌتم مع وصول الطائرات الجدٌدة اعتبارا من عام 2021وحتى .2028 وال ٌزال لدى «طٌران اإلمارات» 6طائرات متبقٌة من طلبٌة A380ستتسلمها حتى ،2022حٌث سٌتجاوز عدد طائرات األسطول 300طائرة مستقبال ،كما ستتم إضافة 30وجهة جدٌدة إلى شبكة الوجهات العالمٌة للناقلة. وذكر كاظم أن الشركة تغطً 43وجهة فً أوروبا ،وسط منافسة قوٌة فً السوق هناك ،ولكن ٌدعم الشركة فً تنافسٌتها شبكتها القوٌة التً تربط أوروبا بالخلٌج وأفرٌقٌا وشبه القارة الهندٌة وشرق آسٌا واسترالٌا ،وهو ما ٌعطٌها مٌزة هناك ،حٌث تلبً الطلب الكبٌر على السفر هناك عبر طائراتها من طراز إٌرباص A380. كما أنها تخدم محطات كثٌرة فً أوروبا بؤكثر من رحلة واحدة ٌومٌا ،حٌث تشغل مثال 10رحالت ٌومٌا إلى لندن6 : إلى هٌثرو ،و 3إلى جاتوٌك بطائرات ،A380ورحلة واحدة إلى ستانستٌد بطائرات البوٌنغ .777 وفً أمٌركا تغطً «طٌران اإلمارات» 12وجهة ،كواحدة من الشركات القلٌلة التً تغطً أمٌركا بشكل جٌد بٌن الشرق والوسط والغرب ،مبٌنا فً الوقت ذاته أن السوقٌن األوروبً واألمٌركً ٌحققان للناقلة نحو %35من إٌراداتها. 230ملٌون راكب وذكر كاظم أن تطوٌر مطار آل مكتوم ٌؤتً ضمن استراتٌجٌة حكومة دبً فً أن ٌكون باإلمارة مطارٌن ،إذ ٌعمل جنبا إلى جنب مع مطار دبً الدولً ،فسعة مطار آل مكتوم 30ملٌون راكب ،فً حٌن تصل طاقة مطار دبً إلى 110 مالٌٌن ،أي ان مجموع طاقة المطارٌن تصل إلى 140ملٌون راكب سنوٌا. وسترتفع سعة مطارات دبً بنسبة %65حال وصول «آل مكتوم» إلى سعته المستهدفة بخدمة 120ملٌون راكب سنوٌا ،إذ سٌضٌف 90ملٌونا إلى سعته التشغٌلٌة الحالٌة ،لٌصبح المطاران حٌنها قادرٌن على خدمة نحو 230 ملٌون راكب سنوٌا. «إكسبو دبً ..»2020تواصل العقول وصنع المستقبل

Gulf Air signs five year retailing deal with ATPCO to integrate Routehappy Rich Content
Gulf Air recently signed a five-year retailing deal with ATPCO to integrate Routehappy Rich Content on the airline’s website gulfair.com to further modernize and enhance its flight shopping display. In addition to Gulf Air’s direct channel website, the deal will also see the airline’s targeted rich content integrated with key regional and global third-party sales channels. ATPCO’s Routehappy Rich Content types that will be integrated by Gulf Air are: • Amenities: provide at-a-glance information about flight features. • UTAs (Universal Ticket Attributes) provide easy-to-understand benefits and restrictions such as cancellation, refund policies and boarding priority by fare. • UPAs (Universal Product Attributes) providing relevant media, captions and descriptions to define the airline’s products and services by aircraft type, cabin, time of day, etc. ATPCO will also support Gulf Air in creating and structuring its new branded fares, crafting its UPAs and providing UX (User Experience) consulting and design. Creation of UPAs and development work is currently underway. IATA suggest competitiveness of aviation crucial for jobs and prosperity An IATA study based on the Netherlands recommends that employment and prosperity opportunities will be maximised by aviation competitiveness. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has released analysis suggesting that, by 2037, higher aviation competitiveness in the Netherlands could generate 40,000 new jobs and approximately €8 billion in extra GDP for the nation’s economy. Currently, the aviation industry supports 306,000 jobs and contributes €22 billion to the Netherlands’ economy – a considerably significant contribution, accounting for 3.2 per cent of the Netherlands’ GDP – compared to the possibility of 84,000 jobs being lost over the same period should Dutch air transport competitiveness weaken. As a result of IATA’s ‘Netherlands Air Transport Regulatory Competitiveness Indicators’ study, it has been recommended that, to maximise employment and prosperity opportunities, the Netherlands should increase the cap on aircraft movements and ensure cost-effective expansion of Dutch airports; avoid the introduction of new environmental taxes; and continue to maintain slot allocation policy in line with EU and global best practice. IATA’s Regional Vice President for Europe, Rafael Schvartzman, said: ”The Netherlands has always been an open trading nation and aviation has helped drive forward the Dutch economy. But future progress depends on strong aviation competitiveness. The Netherlands is looking to restore passenger carbon taxes that were abolished years ago because they were proven to damage employment and have no measurable impact on climate change. We urge the government to remember the lessons from last time. Instead of taxes, if strategic policy support for sustainable aviation fuels is given, carbon emissions can be cut faster, without restricting access to air travel for those on lower incomes.“

1 Hahn Air Joins IATA’s 25by2025 Diversity & Inclusion Initiative Dreieich, Nov. 25, 2019. Hahn Air supports the improvement of gender balance in the aviation industry by signing IATA’s industry-wide 25by2025 campaign. With 39% of its leadership positions occupied by women, the German airline and distribution specialist already surpasses the desired 25% gender ratio of the initiative. Representing Hahn Air at the signing ceremony during IATA’s Wings of Change conference in Berlin on November 19, was Hahn Air’s General Director, Kirsten Rehmann. Among the 29 signatories are other key industry players, such as China Eastern, Lufthansa and Qatar Airways. IATA represents 290 airlines comprising 82% of global air traffic. The 25by2025 initiative, launched earlier this year, sets several goals for its member airlines, including increasing the number of women in senior positions and underrepresented jobs, such as pilots or operations, to a minimum of 25%. Additionally, it calls for transparency by inviting airlines to report key diversity metrics annually. Kirsten Rehmann who has been General Director of Hahn Air since 2012, commented: ”For Hahn Air, gender equality has always been part of our corporate ethos and I am immensely pleased to champion this initiative that recognises the need for a change. In a statement released this evening, the airline has confirmed no more flights will operate until the 21st December, 2019. Ticket sales have also been suspended until the 16th December. It appears the airline is in difficulties financially, and is attempting to undertake an emergency restructuring in order to ensure its survival. Turkish airline AtlasGlobal has suspended all its flight services effective today. In a statement released this evening, the airline has confirmed no more flights will operate until the 21st December, 2019. Ticket sales have also been suspended until the 16th December. It appears the airline is in difficulties financially, and is attempting to undertake an emergency restructuring in order to ensure its survival. ”We regret to inform you that we had to suspend all our flights as of November 26, 2019 until December 16, 2019 in order to provide the necessary configuration and improvement in our cash flow. All operational processes that will be carried out within the company by this date will be carried out with minimum number of personnel and the personnel will be determined by the unit managers and will be informed by telephone this evening. Announced through to 21st December However, a subsequent statement from the airline says that the suspension will actually be in force until the 21st of December. 1 Trent 1000 Issues Delay Virgin Atlantic Airbus A340 Retirement It appears as though the Airbus A340-600 is scheduled to stay with Virgin Atlantic even longer than previously planned. As the Boeing 787 Trent 1000 engine crisis continues, the aircraft are needed to ensure no drop in capacity. Unfortunately, carriers across the world have been affected by issues with the Boeing 787’s Trent 1000 engines. While Rolls Royce taking the situation incredibly seriously, there still remains some aircraft which are grounded while awaiting replacement engines. As a result, Virgin Atlantic could be delaying their Airbus A340’s retirement with the aircraft now in schedules up until the end of July 2020. Six-month reprieve Virgin Atlantic had originally planned to have retired the Airbus A340-600 by the end of 2019. However, after the type’s retirement was repeatedly pushed back, it now seems that the aircraft will remain in service for much longer than planned. Six months longer to be exact. According to Virgin Atlantic’s online booking engine, on the 1st of August 2020, VS412 from Lagos to London Heathrow is currently scheduled to be operated by an Airbus A340-600. However, from the 2nd of August, the flight will be operated by an Airbus A350-1000. Of course, depending on operational needs, this could still change in either direction. ”Flying longer than planned“ Simple Flying reached out to Virgin Atlantic to enquire about the delayed retirement. The airline told us that the aircraft will be staying around for longer due to 787 engine supply issues. The airline said: ”We’re always reviewing our fleet, and timelines around aircraft retirement are always subject to change in order to give us greater flexibility for our customers. Whilst no decisions have been made, due to ongoing supply issues with 787 Rolls Royce engines, our A340-600s may remain flying a little longer than planned.“

2 Single figure AOGs By Q2 2020 While a definitive number cannot be put on the number of aircraft on the ground due to Trent 1000 issues, it is within double digits. UK based airlines currently affected by the issues include British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, and Norwegian. While Virgin Atlantic is keeping its Airbus A340s around, British Airways and Norwegian have been forced to wet-lease capacity. Addressing the number of aircraft grounded due to the Trent 1000 issues, a Rolls Royce representative told Simple Flying: The company has expressed its deep regret regarding the level of disruption caused by durability issues with its Trent 1000 engine. We are urgently addressing these issues with a plan to reduce Trent 1000 AOGs to single figures in Q2 2020. Such in-service issues can sometimes develop with advanced engineering. Unexpected things happen on all engine systems when building new equipment with new technologies. In this case, some parts wore out faster than we forecast. 1 First El Al Boeing 787-8 Delivery Just Days Away Israel’s flag carrier El Al is expecting to take ownership of his first Boeing 7878 in just a matter of days. Paying Boeing $125 million USD, the airline expects the new aircraft to be delivered on its doorstep before the week is out. What are the details? El Al is currently in the process of retiring its Boeing 747 fleet and replacing them with Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Their initial goal was to acquire 16 Boeing Dreamliners, with 12 787-9s and four 787-8s. So far they have received all 12 of the 787-9s and are now preparing to take onboard the smaller version. They have signed a purchasing agreement to take a single Boeing 787-8 from Boeing for $125 million USD, as reported by Flight Global. The deal is structured as a lease buyback, with the airline slowly paying off the aircraft (by using the aircraft to fly flights) and will end up owning it outright after 10 years (paying back roughly $12.5 million per year). Airlines generally only pay just before they are due to receive their aircraft and thus we know that now it is simply up to Boeing to help complete the delivery flight and then the 787-8 will be in action.

2 Where will this new 787-8 be deployed? The El Al 787-8 is currently due to fly to a variety of destinations on the El Al route network, from Boston to Mumbai to Paris. As we wrote when El Al first inked the deal to fly to Chicago with the 7878, Israel Consul General Aviv Ezra thanked Chicago’s Mayor Rahm Emanuel for the ”win-win“ flight and economic opportunity for both cities, adding: ”We
look forward to getting Israelis addicted to deep dish pizza, and Chicagoans hooked on hummus.” The aircraft will then go where it is needed, helping fill route remand that is not currently suited for the bigger Boeing 787-9s. From there we also do know that it is intending to replace either a Boeing 747 or Boeing 777-300ER service. As both these aircraft have a larger capacity than the 787-8, it is possible that this aircraft will be used for the less full long-range routes.
Instead of flying a half-empty 747 halfway around the globe, the airline can now fly a full Boeing 787-8 to profitability. The aircraft will be powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines, the very same that are currently under inspection for potential issues. As this aircraft is brand new, it is very likely that Rolls Royce has already taken the time to inspect the engines before delivery and thus subverting the problem. What do you think? FAA takes 737 Max airworthiness certificate issuance from Boeing The Federal Aviation Administration has taken further control over certification of individual 737 Max aircraft, saying it will not allow Boeing itself to issue the airworthiness certificates that permit specific aircraft to be flown. Boeing had previously had the ability to issue the aircraft-specific certificates under its FAA-granted organisational design approval. Airworthiness certificates affirm that each new 737 Max is cleared to fly. The documents would be issued only after the FAA also issues an airworthiness directive, which would lift the grounding of the 737 Max fleet. "The FAA notified Boeing today that the agency will retain authority over the issuance of airworthiness certificates for all newly manufactured 737 Max aircraft," says the FAA in a statement. "This action is in line with administrator Steve Dickson’s commitment that the agency fully controls the approval process for the aircraft’s safe return to service." The FAA says the change does not affect 737 Max already delivered to customers. Operators of those aircraft, which were already issued airworthiness certificates, will need to "comply with all changes required by an FAA airworthiness directive that will be issued as part of the FAA’s requirements for return to service of those aircraft". Asked to comment about the FAA's change, Boeing says, "We continue to work with the FAA on the safe return to service for the Max". The FAA adds that its 737 Max work continues. "The FAA has not completed its review of the 737 Max design changes and associated pilot training," it says. "The agency will not approve the aircraft for return-to-service until it has completed numerous rounds of rigorous testing." El Al seals financing for first 787-8 Israeli carrier El Al has signed for the financing of its first Boeing 787-8, which is scheduled for delivery during November. The airline is intending to acquire 16 787s, of which it has received 12 – all of them the larger -9 variant. El Al states that, on 25 November, it signed a $125 million financing agreement to purchase its first 787-8 from Boeing. The financing takes the form of a JOLCO structure, the airline adds, with the aircraft held by a special-purpose vehicle and transferred to the carrier's ownership after 10 years. El Al is to receive four 787-8s, of which two aircraft are being purchased from the US airframer. All of its 787s are being fitted with Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 powerplants. El Al has been introducing the 787s as it phases out its Boeing 767-300ER and 747-400 fleets. It disclosed earlier this month that, in connection with the withdrawal of its 747s, it has sealed an agreement to sell 12 Pratt & Whitney PW4000 engines to an unidentified foreign buyer. El Al says it expects to make a capital gain, before tax, of around $30 million from the powerplant sale, subject to checks on their condition.

jetBlue discloses $160mn accelerated stock buyback jetBlue Airways (B6, New York JFK) revealed on November 22 that it had entered into an agreement with United States investment bank Morgan Stanley to implement an Accelerated Share Repurchase (ASR) transaction. Under terms of the buyback deal, it will pay a total of USD160 million to the investment bank and initially receive around 6.9 million shares based on the November 21 closing price of USD18.63 per share. The agreement is part of a USD800 million share repurchase announced in September. The total number of shares the carrier will ultimately receive depends on the volume-weighted average price of the stock during the term of the agreement. The stock has gained 16% so far this year, according to the American financial data website MarketWatch. The move follows similar accelerated share repurchase agreements signed earlier this year with Goldman Sachs and Barclays Bank, both of which were for the buyback of USD125 million worth of the airline's stock.

Lufthansa keen to deepen ties with Indian carriers Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt Int'l) is seeking to "strengthen" its ties with Indian airlines like Vistara (UK, Delhi Int'l) and Air India (AI, Mumbai Int'l) next year as a result of the demise of the German carrier's partner Jet Airways (9W, Mumbai Int'l) in April. Currently, Lufthansa Group has an interline agreement with Vistara, and may look to pursue moving this up to a full codeshare in the future. "We are trying to strengthen it," said George Ettiyil, Senior Director, South Asia, Lufthansa Group to the Press Trust of India. "Let us see what the future holds in store. We have the desire to actually strengthen partnerships with other Indian airlines also. So, Vistara is an obvious choice." These moves by Lufthansa with industry newcomer Vistara are being taken despite a long-held codeshare agreement with the more established Air India. Definitely on the agenda for 2020 is penetrating deeper into India. The Lufthansa Group "will be trying to strengthen our Indian partnerships" so that Indian carriers "can bring passengers from second- and third-tier cities to our four gateways," Ettiyil suggests. Both Lufthansa and Swiss (LX, Zurich) operate flights to India, with the latter carrier presently flying daily services from Zurich to Delhi Int'l and Mumbai Int'l, both with its 14-strong A330-300 fleet. The German flag carrier operates daily flights from Frankfurt Int'l to Delhi (A380-800 service), Mumbai (B747400 service), Bangalore Int'l (B747-8 service) and Chennai (A340-300), as well as daily flights connecting Munich to Delhi (A350-900 service) and Mumbai (A350-900 service). In addition, Lufthansa will start a 5x weekly operation connecting Munich and Bangalore, from March 31, 2020. Despite this pending route launch next spring, Ettiyil confirmed that the airline does not plan to start any other service in 2020. "We currently do not have any immediate plans to grow in terms of adding flight capacity. We have seen continuous growth over the past four years of India's share on our aircraft. We are trying to grow by allowing more Indian-origin passengers on our aircraft," he added. the air force allows," he concluded.

While in the short-term new points in India are not an option, the medium-term is another consideration. "Promising cities are always on the radar. Hyderabad Int'l is always something that is there. But one has to always look at profitability," Ettiyil said. When asked if Lufthansa was planning to resume its Frankfurt to Pune operations, which had been flown under a wet-lease agreement with PrivatAir (Germany) (PTG, Düsseldorf Int'l) until it went bankrupt in December 2018, Ettiyil was dismissive. "We have tried for a year [to find an alternative]. We have not been successful so far. We don't have that kind of aircraft. This aircraft [for the Frankfurt-Pune route] has to be a modified aircraft. It needs to have a bigger fuel tank, less cargo capacity and the economy class should be better than the domestic product," he said. Ettiyil also added that the modified plane needed to have a European Air Operator's Certificate (AOC), with safety standards that were regulated by the European Union (EU). Therefore, due to these specific requirements, the airline was unable to restart the Pune operations as yet, but he did not completely rule out the opportunity: "If we find an alternative to PrivatAir, we will definitely restart it." After PrivatAir's demise last year, Lufthansa did operate the service itself between December 2018 and January 2019, using its own A319s, however, Ettiyil said: "Passengers did not accept that." Ettiyil also commented that Pune's main runway 10/28 is only 2,539 metreslong and is, therefore, a challenge in terms of attracting long-haul services. He said that if the Indian Air Force is able to expand the airport after buying an additional piece of land, any wide-body aircraft will be able to land there.
