بدأ شرٌؾ فتحً ،وزٌر الطٌران المدنً ،منذ قلٌل ،جولة تفقدٌة بمبنى الركاب الجدٌد رقم 2بمطار القاهرة الدولً ،لمتابعة حركة سٌر الركاب داخل صاالت المطار بعد إتمام انتقال 10شركات للعمل بالمبنى الجدٌد. وقالت مصادر بمطار القاهرة ،إن وزٌر الطٌران المدنً حرص على تفقد صاالت السفر والوصول داخل المبنى ،والتأكد مع عمل كل األجهزة بالمبنى بعد إتمام عملها بشكل كامل بانتقال شركات الطٌران للعمل بالمبنى الجدٌد ،فضال عن متابعة تركٌب أجهزة البصمة البٌرمترٌة. وأضافت المصادر أن وزٌر الطٌران حرص على لقاء مسئولً مطار القاهرة، وقٌادات شركات الطٌران العاملة بالمبنى الجدٌد للتعرؾ منهم على أي مشكالت قد تواجههم فً العمل بالمبنى الجدٌد.

وزٌر الطٌران المدنى ٌلتقى وزٌر األمن البرٌطانى التقى شرٌؾ فتحى ،وزٌر الطٌران المدنى ،السٌد روبرت بن واالس ،وزٌر األمن البرٌطانى ،والوفد المرافق له بحضور السفٌر جون كاسون ،سفٌر برٌطانٌا بالقاهرة ،وذلك لبحث سبل التعاون بٌن البلدٌن فى مجال أمن الطٌران المدنى، وعودة تشؽٌل الرحالت إلى مدٌنة شرم الشٌخ. وعقب اللقاء ،اصطحب وزٌر الطٌران المدنى وزٌر األمن البرٌطانى والوفد المرافق له فى جولة تفقدٌة بمبنى الركاب الجدٌد رقم 2للتعرؾ على إمكانٌات المبنى الجدٌد ،وسٌر عمل الرحالت منه خاصة بعد افتتاحه التجرٌبى وانتقال عدد كبٌر من الشركات للعمل منه. وأوقفت برٌطانٌا رحالتها الجوٌة إلى مطار شرم الشٌخ ،عقب سقوط الطائرة الروسٌة بوسط سٌناء أكتوبر من العام الماضى.

إلؽاء إقالع 7رحالت طٌران دولٌة فً مطار القاهرة مؤمن التهامً تلقت سلطات مطار القاهرة الدولً ،الٌوم الثالثاء 7 ،إخطارات من شركات الطٌران ،بإلؽاء إقالع 7رحالت طٌران دولٌة؛ لعدم جدواها اقتصادٌا؛ لقلة الركاب. وقالت مصادر مالحٌة بمطار القاهرة :إن شركة النٌل للطٌران ألؽت 4رحالت دولٌة؛ رحلة 115المتجهة إلى القصٌم ،و 103و 113المتجهة إلى ٌنبع ،و 111المتجهة إلى الطائؾ. وأضافت المصادر :إن الشركة المصرٌة ألؽت رحلتها 104المتجهة إلى الطائؾ ،و510 المتجهة إلى الكوٌت ،كما ألؽت إٌر كاٌرو رحلتها 441المتجهة إلى ٌنبع؛ لعدم جدواها اقتصادٌا؛ لقلة الركاب ،مشٌرة إلى أنه تم التنسٌق مع الشركات لسفر الركاب على متن رحالت أخرى. وأشارت المصادر إلى أن رحلة الخطوط السودانٌة ،المتجهة إلى الخرطوم ،تأخرت ساعة عن موعد اإلقالع المقرر لها؛ بسبب ظروؾ التشؽٌل.

كابتن طائرة مصر للطٌران لزوجة مرٌض« :موتٌه فً مصر إنتو هتقرفونا» كريم الخطيب روت المواطنة المصرٌة سارة ؼالب ،تفاصٌل إنقاذ الشرطة اإلماراتٌة لوالدها من «ضٌق تنفس» بسبب ما وصفته بإهمال طاقم طائرة مصر للطٌران فً دبً. وقالت سارة ؼالب ،إن والدها مرٌض بتلٌؾ فً الرئة وٌحتاج أكسجٌن دائما ،موضحة أنه كل سفرٌات والدها تكون دائما فً طائرة مجهزة طبٌا ،لذلك أبلؽوا الشركة بالحالة لتوفٌر أجهزة األكسجٌن الالزمة ،وعندما تعرض لألزمة فً الطائرة طالبوا أحد العاملٌن بتوفٌر الجهاز لكنه صدمهم بأنه ال ٌوجد أكسجٌن عندهم ،رؼم أنهم دفعوا الرسوم الخاصة به كاملة.
وأضافت «ؼالب» أن كابتن الطائرة تطاول على والدتها ،وقال لها« :متموتً جوزك فً مصر هو انتً مشحططاه معانا لٌه إنتو هتقرفونا ،وٌال انزلوا من الطائرة علشان نطلع»، فردت علٌه والدتها «إٌه اللً انت بتقوله ده واتكلم معانا باحترام إنت راكب طٌارة مش مٌكروباص» وبعدها تقدموا بشكوى بما حدث لوزارة الطٌران لم ٌرد علٌهم أحد حتى اآلن. وأوضحت «ؼالب» أن الشرطة اإلماراتٌة المدنٌة هً التً استقبلت والدتها وأنقذت والدها من «ضٌق تنفس».

)(1 وصول جثامٌن ضحاٌا طائرة مصر للطٌران إلى فرنسا مروان حجازي وصلت جثامٌن الضحاٌا الفرنسٌٌن لطائرة مصر للطٌران ،التً تحطمت فً التاسع عشر من ماٌو الماضً ،الٌوم الثالثاء ،إلى مدٌنة روٌسً الفرنسٌة ،لٌتم تسلٌم الجثامٌن لذوٌهم ،بعد شد وجذب بٌن مصر وفرنسا فً تلك المسألة. وذكرت صحٌفة "لو فٌجارو" الفرنسٌة ،أن الدبلوماسٌة الفرنسٌة ظلت متمسكة بهذا األمر إلى النهاٌة ،ولمدة ثمانٌة أشهر ،أملت العائالت الفرنسٌة أن تتسلم جثث ضحاٌا الرحلة ،MS804 وما ٌعتبر إجراء روتٌنً هو أن ٌتم تسلٌم جثث الضحاٌا لذوٌهم ،إال أن األمر تحول إلى حرب دبلوماسٌة بٌن مصر وفرنسا ،على حد وصؾ الصحٌفة ،مضٌفة أن عائالت الضحاٌا كانوا ٌخشون أن تؽٌر مصر رأٌها فً اللحظات األخٌرة ،إال أن الجثث وصلت "مدٌنة روزي" ظهرا بتوقٌت فرنسا. الفرنسٌة ،فً الواحدة والنصؾ ً وكانت تلك الحادثة سبب فً أزمة بٌن مصر وفرنسا؛ حٌث سقطت تلك الطائرة التابعة لشركة مصر للطٌران المتهجة من مطار "شارل دٌجول" فً فرنسا ،وعلى متنها 66راك ًبا ،إلى مطار القاهرة ،وسقطت بٌن جزٌرة كرٌت والساحل الشمالً المصري ،وصرح وقتها شرٌؾ فتحً، وزٌر الطٌران المصري ،أنه ٌرجح أن ٌكون سبب سقوط الطائرة عمل إرهابً أكثر من العطل الفنً ،ومنذ ذلك الوقت والتحقٌق ٌجرٌه المحققون المصرٌون ،وأقل ما ٌقال عنهم أنهم ؼٌر متعاونٌن ،على حد وصؾ السلطات الفرنسٌة.

)(2 وتم العثور على حطام الطائرة ،بعد أكثر من أربعة أسابٌع من وقوع تلك الحادثة ،وكان الصندوق فً حالة سٌئة ،وطلبت السلطات المصرٌة إرسال التسجٌالت إلى فرنسا الستخالصها ،وقبل رحٌل الخبراء الفرنسٌون ،تم مسح كل البٌانات الموجودة على أجهزة الكمبٌوتر الخاصة بهم ،ما ٌجعل مصر الحائز الوحٌد على الصندوق األسود للطائرة. وفتح المدعى العام الفرنسً تحقٌ ًقا قضائ ًٌا حول تلك الكارثة ،وفً أؼسطس ،تم دعوة فرٌق تحقٌق فرنسً لالطالع على نتائج التحقٌق ،ولكن تم التأجٌل فً آخر لحظة ،ومن ثم لم ٌعلم الفرنسٌون شٌ ًئا عن سٌر التحقٌق. وكانت السلطات المصرٌة قد تعرفت على 64جثة من أصل ،66دون إبالغ فرنسا؛ فكان الفرنسٌون ٌعرفون القتلى من خالل متابعة الصحافة ،وتم استدعاء فرٌق التحقٌق المصري إلى فرنسا عدة مرات إلطالع السلطات على ما توصلوا إلٌه ،دون جدوى. وفً سبتمبر ،طلب فرٌق التحقٌق المصري من الفرنسٌون التوقٌع على مستند ٌفٌد بوجود آثار مواد متفجرة فً حطام الطائرة ،وهو ما رفضه الفرنسٌون؛ حٌث لم ٌتم إطالعهم على كٌفٌة الوصول لتلك النتائج ،ووضؾ مصدر فرنسً متابع لذلك الملؾ" :المصرٌون ٌبتزوننا" ،مضٌ ًفا أن التلوٌح بأن سقوط الطائرة بسبب حادث إرهابً ٌعفٌها من دفع التعوٌضات للضحاٌا ،فً ظل الحالة المالٌة التً تمر بها مصر وشركة مصر للطٌران. وأكدت مصادر أنه سٌتم فحص الضحاٌا بشكل دقٌق لمعرفة ما إذا كان هناك بقاٌا متفجرات ناجمة عن االنفجار أو تم وضعها على الجثث إلثبات النظرٌة التً تروج لها مصر. وفً الرابع عشر من دٌسمبر الماضً ،قام أهالً الضحاٌا الفرنسٌٌن بإطالق حمالت على اإلنترنت مطالبٌن باستالم جثث الضحاٌا ،وفً الٌوم التالً ،أعلن النائب العام المصري أنه سٌتم تسلٌم جثث الضحاٌا لذوٌهم وسٌتم البدء بالمصرٌٌن ،ثم الجثث من الجنسٌات األخرى، ضا طلب فرنسا بفحص الجثث من خبراء مؤكدًا العثور على آثار متفجرات على الجثث ،راف ً مستقلٌن ،وهو ما وصفته الصحٌفة الفرنسٌة باالبتزاز.

"لماذا ال تسافر بالطٌارة" ،إعالن فً صورة سؤال كانت تطرحه "الخطوط الهوائٌة المصرٌة" على عمالئها المحتملٌن من المصرٌٌن ،هذا اإلعالن ٌرجع تارٌخه إلى حقبة األربعٌنٌات من القرن العشرٌن. فقدٌ ًما لم تكن مشكلة عزوؾ البعض عن السفر بالطائرات مرتبط بارتفاع أسعار التذاكر أو مخاطر السفر بالهواء ،ولكن ألن السفر بالبواخر وؼٌرها من وسائل المواصالت كان األكثر شٌو ًعا. شركة مصر للطٌران كانت قد بدأت تشؽٌل أولى طائراتها عام ،1933والرحالت كانت داخلٌة بٌن القاهرة واإلسكندرٌة ،وقٌمة التذكرة حٌنها لم تكن تتجاوز الجنٌهٌن ،فً حٌن أن قٌمة التذكرة اآلن تتخطى 600جنٌه وأكثر وف ًقا لتوقٌت الحجز. نظرا الختالؾ الزمان والظروؾ بالطبع المقارنة فً هذه الحالة قد تكون ؼٌر منطقٌة ً االقتصادٌة ،إال أن المفارقة تجبرنا فً بعض األحٌان على عقد مقارنات ،خاصة عزٌزي القارئ إذا شاهدت صور اإلعالنات المرفقة بالموضوع وعلمت أن سعر تذكرة الطٌران للٌونان على سبٌل المثال لم تكن تتجاوز 14جنٌه مصري. ٌذكر أن شركة مصر للطٌران التً تعد األولى فً العالم العربً وأفرٌقٌا ،قد أسسها كل من كمال علوي ومحمد صدقً بدعم من طلعت حرب ،وبدأت برأس مال بلػ 20ألؾ جنٌه، وكان ٌخدم بها اثنٌن فقط من الطٌارٌن. واآلن ..إذا طرحت علٌك إحدى شركات الطٌران سؤال مماثل "لماذا ال تسافر بالطائرة"؟ فما هً اإلجابة المناسبة التً سترد بها على هذا السؤال؟

ICAO-Expression of condolences: ACT Airlines Flight TK6491 The Council President and the Secretary General of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) expressed the UN agency‘s deepest condolences today for the families and friends of the victims of ACT Airlines Flight TK6491, a scheduled cargo flight from Hong Kong to Istanbul, Turkey, which was lost due to unknown causes on 16 January 2017. An accident investigation into the loss of Flight TK6491 has now been launched by Kyrgyzstan authorities, as per the associated provisions of Annex 13 to the Convention on International Civil Aviation (Chicago Convention). "On behalf of ICAO, I would like to express our compassion for the victims and the communities affected by this tragic accident. We will work with the global civil aviation community on any associated risk mitigation recommendations appropriate to our role,‖ declared the UN agency‘s Council President, Dr. Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu. "Any accident or incident resulting in loss of life is always a matter of utmost regret and concern to ICAO and to the entire air transport community. ICAO offers our condolences as we await the Annex 13 accident investigation Preliminary and Final Reports to learn more about the causes and contributing factors of this event, added ICAO‘s Secretary General, Dr. Fang Liu.

JACC: MH370 Joint Communique - Today the last search vessel has left the underwater search area Today the last search vessel has left the underwater search area. Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 has not been located in the 120,000 square-kilometre underwater search area in the southern Indian Ocean. Despite every effort using the best science available, cutting edge technology, as well as modelling and advice from highly skilled professionals who are the best in their field, unfortunately, the search has not been able to locate the aircraft. Accordingly, the underwater search for MH370 has been suspended. The decision to suspend the underwater search has not been taken lightly nor without sadness. It is consistent with decisions made by our three countries in the July 2016 Ministerial Tripartite meeting in Putrajaya Malaysia. Whilst combined scientific studies have continued to refine areas of probability, to date no new information has been discovered to determine the specific location of the aircraft. We have been overwhelmed by the commitment and dedication shown by the hundreds of people involved in the search, which has been an unprecedented challenge. Their tireless work has continued to improve our knowledge of the search area and has been critical in our efforts to locate the aircraft. We would like to reiterate our utmost appreciation to the many nations that have provided expertise and assistance since the early days of this unfortunate tragedy. Today‘s announcement is significant for our three countries, but more importantly for the family and friends of those on board the aircraft. We again take this opportunity to honour the memory of those who have lost their lives and acknowledge the enormous loss felt by their loved ones. We remain hopeful that new information will come to light and that at some point in the future the aircraft will be located.

Rolls-Royce Settles Corruption Case with $812 Million in Fines Engine maker Rolls-Royce agreed to pay penalties totaling more than $812 million to avoid going to a full trial over allegations of bribery and corruption following a complex investigation by the UK‘s Serious Fraud Office (SFO). The High Court in London on Tuesday confirmed a Deferred Prosecution Agreement reached between the UK-based manufacturer and the SFO. The agreement calls for Rolls-Royce to pay £497.3 million ($616.7 million) to the UK authorities, $169.9 million to the U.S. Department of Justice and $25.6 million to Brazil‘s Ministério Público Federal. The SFO investigation, which began in 2012, covered multiple instances in which various intermediaries acting on behalf of Rolls-Royce in different countries made improper payments and gifts to secure deals for engines for civil and military aircraft, as well as for industrial energy generation equipment. The company faced charges of 12 counts of conspiracy to corrupt and failure to prevent bribery relating to the activities of the intermediaries. The actions in question included dealings involving contracts with Indonesian airline Garuda, Thai Airways and China Eastern Airlines. David Perry, an attorney acting for Rolls-Royce, said that the company‘s current management acknowledges that the practice outlined by prosecutors was ―unacceptable and under no circumstances would it be condoned.‖ He said that RollsRoyce ―apologizes unreservedly for the conduct which has been uncovered.‖

(2) SFO attorney Sir Edward Garnier gave Rolls-Royce credit for its “high level of cooperation” with the investigation, which was triggered by allegations of a whistleblower. Law firm Debevoise & Plimpton advised Rolls-Royce in reaching the DPA with the SFO, and also on the equivalent agreements with the U.S. and Brazilian authorities. Rolls-Royce‟s share price increased by 8 percent on news of the settlements. The company indicated that it will give a full account of the financial implications of the case when it publishes full-year 2016 results on February 14.

TSA administrator Neffenger to step down Jan. 20 US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) head Peter Neffenger will resign Jan. 20, the day President-elect Donald Trump assumes office. Neffenger, formerly the vice commandant of the US Coast Guard, has been the TSA administrator since July 2015. He enjoys wide bipartisan support in Congress—the Senate confirmed him by an 81-1 vote—and there had been speculation that he would remain on the job following Trump‘s inauguration. But TSA has confirmed Neffenger is leaving his post Jan. 20. No formal statement has been made. Questions to TSA about whether there was consideration of Neffenger staying on were referred to the Trump transition team, which did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Trump will have to nominate a new TSA administrator who will have to be confirmed by the Senate. During the prior US presidential transition—from George W. Bush to Barack Obama—in 2009, then-TSA administrator Kip Hawley also stepped down on inauguration day. The post remained open for more than 17 months until John Pistole became the administrator in June 2010.

(2) Neffenger took the helm of TSA in July 2015, shortly after the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) inspector general‘s office issued a report detailing ―red team‖ undercover investigators repeatedly bringing banned items through airport passenger checkpoints. His most high-profile challenge came in the 2016 spring, when TSA checkpoint waits of more than 90 minutes and even as long as three hours in some instances wreaked havoc with air travel at major airports around the US. Neffenger said TSA quickly learned a number of lessons from the line crisis and made adjustments to fix the problem. ―You do have to staff to meet the demands of the system,‖ he said at an industry conference in September 2016, adding, ―We changed dramatically the way we operated.‖ During his tenure, Neffenger sought to accelerate enrollments in the Pre-Check expedited screening program. He also worked to create a more uniform training program for TSA screeners. ―I was surprised to discover when I came to TSA that there was no true, formal training program across the entire organization, at any level of the organization,‖ he told Congress at a hearing in May 2016. ―To me, that‘s foundational.‖ Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA) president and CEO Kevin Burke said in a statement that Neffenger should be credited with ushering in ―a new era of efficiency and collaboration that has strengthened aviation security.‖ Burke expressed appreciation for Neffenger‘s ―willingness to work alongside airport operators and our airline partners.‖ Airlines for America (A4A) president and CEO Nicholas Calio praised Neffenger for ―a strong level of collaboration and an unprecedented attitude of positive problem-solving with stakeholders.‖

New House Bill Could Complicate Boeing, Airbus Sales to Iran A Republican congressman has introduced legislation in the new U.S. Congress that could complicate Boeing and Airbus sales to Iran Air, made possible by a multinational nuclear agreement signed in July 2015. The action came on the heels of Airbus‟s first new airliner delivery to state-owned Iran Air two days earlier. Rep. Peter Roskam (R-Ill.) introduced H.R. 566 on January 13. It calls for the incoming Trump administration to report on Iran‟s use of commercial aircraft and related services for “illicit military or other activities.” Reps. Brad Sherman (DCalif.) and Lee Zeidin (R-N.Y.) are listed as consponsors of the legislation. The bill was referred to the House Committee on Foreign Affairs. In the previous, 114th Congress, Roskam introduced legislation to prohibit the U.S. Export-Import Bank from providing financing that would benefit Iran. Roskam represents the Illinois sixth congressional district, located west of Chicago—Boeing‟s corporate headquarters. In a speech on the House floor during the debate over the Treasury Department legislation, he said: “We now have American companies that are saying „you know what? Let‟s go in and let‟s do business with a terrorist regime. Let‟s just go make a buck.‟ The scandal is that there are American companies, there are international companies—Boeing, Airbus—that are now making their own names inextricably linked with terror for evermore.” Roskam‟s Washington, D.C. office did not immediately issue a statement or explanation of the new legislation.

American Airlines is 2017 ATW Airline of the Year American Airlines has been named the recipient of the 2017 ATW Airline of the Year, taking the top honor of the 43nd annual ATW Airline Industry Achievement Awards. American Airlines was selected by ATW‘s editorial board in recognition of the phenomenal achievements by American‘s leadership and employees this past year. The integration of American and US Airways was practically flawless despite it being the largest, most complex airline merger in history, editors noted. And throughout the integration process, American has maintained a close eye on delivering profitability and shareholder return while also investing more than $3 billion in new customer products and services that include greater onboard connectivity, new entertainment and dining choices, upgraded lounges and new city pair services. American is also spending billions more to upgrade its fleet with hundreds of new aircraft. ―The creation of the ‗New American‘ has been a remarkable journey for employees, customers and investors. United earns $2.3 billion 2016 net profit United Airlines parent United Continental Holdings reported a full-year 2016 net profit of $2.3 billion, down 69.2% from net income of $7.3 billion in 2015. However, Chicago-based United‘s 2015 earnings included a one-time $3.1 billion non-cash tax valuation benefit that skews year-over-year comparisons, especially since 2016‘s earnings include a one-time tax expense of $1.5 billion. On a pre-tax basis, United‘s 2016 net profit was $3.8 billion, down 9.5% from $4.2 billion on a similar basis in 2015. United‘s 2016 revenue dropped 3.5% year-over-year to $36.6 billion while expenses decreased 1.5% to $32.2 billion, producing an operating profit of $4.3 billion, down 16% from operating income of $5.2 billion in 2015. United‘s consolidated RASM fell 5.4% year-over-year in 2016 to 14.4 cents, but RASM was down just 1.8% in the fourth quarter and president Scott Kirby said the airline ―saw meaningful improvement in the pricing and demand environment in the quarter.‖ Kirby added that United anticipates first-quarter 2017 consolidated unit revenue to be approximately flat year-over-year. United‘s full-year 2016 consolidated traffic increased 0.8% year-over-year to 210.3 billion RPMs on a 1.4% rise in capacity to 253.6 billion ASMs, producing a load factor of 82.9%, down 0.5 point. Yield fell 4.8% to 15 cents. The airline, which has made improving operational performance a priority, said it achieved the best full-year ontime performance and the lowest number of flight cancellations, delay minutes and mishandled bags in company history.

China's Comac C919 Edges Toward First Flight China‟s efforts to develop a second airliner to boost the nation‟s economic competitiveness and prestige is slowly coming to fruition in the form of the C919, the inaugural flight of which officials expect as soon as late March. Developed by state-run Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (Comac), the narrowbody has reached the early stages of pre-flight trials, including taxi and brake tests, according to a Comac official who spoke with AINon the condition of anonymity. “Every day, the experimental test pilots get progressively more involved in testing different things,” he told AIN. “It looks like it will fly late in the first quarter or early in the second quarter. After that you probably won‟t see it fly for quite a while.” According to the same official, the C919‟s major avionics systems such as the navigation, flight management system and autopilot remain incomplete, however. Final design reviews also remain pending. Launched in 2008, the C919 program has experienced a series of setbacks that pushed back its maiden flight and delivery date, originally scheduled for 2014 and 2016, respectively. Despite the delays, the narrowbody serves as a testament to China‟s ambitions to advance its standing in the aerospace manufacturing value chain. The smaller ARJ-21-700 regional jet, also developed by Comac, entered service in June 2016 after a lengthy development program that finally culminated in Chinese certification in late 2014. In July 2016, leasing groups Friedmann Pacific Asset Management and China Aircraft Leasing Limited signed a deal to buy up to 60 of the aircraft.

The ARJ-21 has collected a total of 413 orders and commitments from 19 customers since program launch in 2002. Comac delivered the second ARJ-21 to Chengdu Airlines on September 29, and on December 2 the aircraft obtained the first foreign airworthiness certificate, issued by the Republic of Congo. ―We learned from the ARJ,‖ said the Comac official. ―There are certain things that we want to do this time around that we didn‘t do last time.‖ With the ARJ-21-700, avionics integration proved one of the biggest development impediments. On the C919, the cockpit ―won‘t be as integrated as the [ACJ] Neo‖ but will ―be closer to a [Boeing] Max,‖ he said. ―It still will not be the same level of integration but again what the balance of that is obviously the cost,‖ he added. ―A better established process‖ and English-language manuals have also helped in C919‘s development. As the C919 edges toward its first flight, Comac continues to work toward gaining a production certificate for the ARJ. While the official said that won‘t happen until it builds between 10 and 15 airplanes, once obtained the certificate will allow the aircraft to undergo a series of upgrades, including a new avionics suite and better integration of its major systems. For aircraft already in service, Comac will offer a retrofit.
