YOUR ESSENTIAL ROUND-UP FOR THE WEEK COMMENCING 20 April 2026

This Week’s Headlines:

This week we welcomed everyone back to school after the Easter Break. I hope everyone had an exciting and restful time off and is now ready to take on the summer term.

On Thursday, the EST careers fair took place, multiple year groups took part, and it was an informative experience for everyone. Year 10 learned about the use of AI in the workplace, and Year 12 tried out some practice job interviews. The Spring Term edition of the Dorothea Beale Quarterly is out now! We can’t wait for our Academic Scholars to enjoy what’s in store from this new edition. 2026’s Summer Festival is coming up soon on the 15th of May. It's sure to be a fantastic event for everyone, we look forward to seeing you there. Thank you everyone for working hard this week. It has been a joy to have all of our pupils back!

STOGA EVENT

It was wonderful to host our alumni reunion and hear the heartfelt stories, shared memories, and genuine love for the school that filled the room

BOARDING, WELCOME BACK!

It has been so lovely to welcome everybody back after the Easter break The house already feels full of life again, and it’s great to see the girls back together, settling quickly into routines and enjoying each other’s company.

We are really looking forward to the final term of the year, which promises to be a busy and exciting one. Following the girls’ requests, we have lots of brilliant trips and activities planned, including outings to Oxfordshire and Bath, golf sessions, shopping trips, and plenty of time in London There’s lots to look forward to!

With the longer evenings and improving weather, we ’ re hoping to make the most of being outdoors spending more time on site, enjoying the space, and making the most of the lighter evenings together.

SIXTH FORM OFFER HOLDER

It was a pleasure to welcome our Sixth Form Offer Holders to school on Tuesday night and share an evening getting to know our newest students who will be joining us in September 2026. A truly lovely event, filled with conversations, smiles and the start of new friendships. Thank you to everyone who joined us, we look forward to seeing our new students grow and thrive as part of our school community.

CAREERS FAIR

We were delighted to welcome pupils from across the Trust to our recent Careers Fair. Year 10 pupils attended an engaging panel debate on “AI in the Workplace” in the Sixth Form Lecture Theatre, exploring how emerging technologies are shaping future careers.

Meanwhile, our Year 12 students took part in 1:1 mock interviews with real businesses, gaining invaluable feedback on their CVs and interview skills.

Over the easter break, pupils were excited to head to Italy for a Ski Trip This was tremendously fun for ever yone, as they got to ski on a snowy landscape. They all progressed well throughout the trip and had an excellent time.

This Week A reading from the Gospel of Luke

As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came near and went with them, but their eyes were kept from recognising him. When he was at table with them, he took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them Then their eyes were opened and they recognised him And they said to one another,

“Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked to us on the road?”

Reflection

The disciples on the road to Emmaus were confused and disappointed. They did not expect hope to be walking quietly beside them Jesus does not hurry them or correct them straight away. Instead, he walks with them, listens to them, and gently opens their hearts.

Sometimes we are like those disciples God is close, but we do not always recognise him in our days at school, in our friendships, or when things feel difficult. Yet Jesus is always present, walking with us, especially when we feel unsure

Prayer

Lord Jesus, You walk beside us on the roads of our lives, even when we do not recognise you. Open our eyes to see you in our prayers, in our lessons, and in one another. Warm our hearts with your presence and give us the courage to share hope and kindness with all we meet. Stay with us, Lord. Amen.
