I hope everyone enjoyed a restful and refreshing half-term break It has been a pleasure to welcome pupils and staff back to school this week.
I would like to start with a special thank you to our Estates Team for their hard work over the holidays, particularly on the Sports Hall development. The new cricket nets are a fantastic addition that will further enhance our sports and co-curricular provision
The week began with a live webinar for Year 11 pupils, offering valuable insights into life in the Sixth Form and helping them begin to consider their next steps On Tuesday, students sat their GCSE English Language exams with great focus, while those interested in medical and healthcare careers attended an inspiring talk by Dr Madden, who shared personal insights and guidance Wednesday saw our pupils take on the IGCSE Mathematics paper with commendable composure. That evening, we held our virtual Year 10 Parents’ Evening, and it was encouraging to see such strong engagement and constructive conversations
We also marked National Green Careers Week, encouraging pupils to explore environmentally focused career paths through assemblies, tutor time discussions, and subject-specific activities.
As we move forward this term, I’m heartened by the enthusiasm and sense of purpose across our school community My sincere thanks to our staff for their dedication, to our parents for their support and to our pupils for their continued positivity

This Week
Bible Reading
A reading from the Gospel of Matthew Jesus taught his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Isn’t there more to life than food and more to the body more than clothing? Look at the birds in the sky; they do not sow or reap, they gather nothing into barns And yet, your heavenly Father feeds them Are not you more important than they? Can any of you add a single moment to your life by worrying about things like that? "
Reflection
This week we focus on the Festival of the Harvest. Across the Trust we have sought to live out our value of Compassion by collecting donations for the Dorking and Cranleigh Foodbanks as well for the LeatherHEAD START Homeless Hostel. At this time of year let us seek to be thankful for all we have received and grateful for all we have been given. We are also encouraged to be open hearted to the needs of others and recognise more fully that it is giving we receive.
Prayer
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is error, the truth; where there is doubt, the faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. Amen.
