SURREY INDIVIDUALS

SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS

On Saturday 17th January, the swim squad attended the Surrey Individuals Swimming Championships, competing across Junior, Intermediate and Senior age categories.

We fielded a very young Junior team, with four out of the five swimmers in Year 7, competing against predominantly Year 8 swimmers. The girls rose to the challenge admirably, with a special mention to Bella D, who finished an impressive 6th out of 30 swimmers in the 100m Breaststroke.

The Intermediate team were outstanding on the day and showed that they were capable of beating any opposition. The girls placed inside the top 10 in every race, with Jess P securing a silver medal in the 100 Fly and a 4th place for Eva S, which was a fantastic team achievement.

Despite being one swimmer down, the Senior team worked incredibly hard and delivered another strong performance They also achieved multiple top 10 finishes, adding a silver and bronze medal to our overall tally. Well done, Emily C and Darcey A. St Teresa’s finished an excellent 4th overall out of 30 schools.

It was a fantastic Saturday of swimming, and a huge well done to all involved as our exceptional year of swimming continues

SIXTH FORM NETBALL

The Sixth Form Netball Team put in a strong performance to secure a 28–17 victory against St Peter’s School. The team started confidently, taking control early and winning the first quarter 10–4 with sharp passing and accurate shooting. This momentum continued into the second quarter, extending the lead to 20–8 by halftime

U15 FORM NETBALL

St T Vs Reigate Grammar

What a wonderful Saturday morning the U15s had at Reigate Grammar School playing netball. It was great to see so many girls there! The A team won by 1 goal and it was a tough match for both teams. The B&Cs unfortunately couldn't get the win but their work rate throughout the match was fantastic.

This Week

A Reading from the Gospel of Matthew

And when the time came for their purification according to the Law of Moses, they brought him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, “Every male who first opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord”) and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the Law of the Lord, “ a pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons” Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him

Reflection

The Presentation of the Lord shows us faithfulness lived quietly. Mary and Joseph bring Jesus to the Temple in obedience and trust, offering what they have. In Simeon and Anna we see lives shaped by patient waiting, prayer, and hope. They recognise in this child the light God has promised a light that comforts, but also challenges, revealing truth and calling for response Candlemas reminds us that Christ comes gently, often unnoticed, yet his light changes everything.

Prayer

God of faithfulness and promise, you fulfilled the hopes of Simeon and Anna when they welcomed Christ into your holy temple As we celebrate the Presentation of your Son, shine your light into our hearts. Dispel the shadows of fear, weariness, and doubt. Teach us to wait with patience and to recognise your presence in ordinary moments.
