It has been a lively end to the Equestrian Termly lessons with 40mph winds whipping through the barn and arena on Monday. It’s been a good opportunity to understand how the horses react in these conditions and how to manage their behaviour. We will be running some ad hoc/make-up lessons on Monday and Wednesday but for those of you who we will not see before the end of term, we wish you all a very happy and restful Christmas

Bible Reading

A reading from the Book of Isaiah

A shoot springs from the stock of Jesse

A shoot springs from the stock of Jesse, a scion thrusts from his roots: on him the spirit of the Lord rests, a spirit of wisdom and insight, a spirit of counsel and power, a spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.

Reflection

We continue through this season Advent we are in a time of waiting. Pausing. Expecting. In our busy world and busy lives it is easy for us to become impatient. The traffic on the roads, the length of the queue at the post office. Many things can challenge our patience We want things done now, quickly, in a hurry Yet Advent reminds us that good things take time. We should be patient with ourselves, with those around us and with how God answers our prayers. Look at how in nature things grow slowly it grows. Good things take time. God is at work. Within us and in our lives slowly and deliberately piecing it together. This Advent, let us wait on Him and allow Him to do His work

Prayer

My loving Jesus, May we choose You, this Advent, as our King and God. May we abandon ourselves to You and seek to put all our trust in Your tender care. Draw us close to You and free us from all things that separate us from you Amen Amen.

“It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” – St. André Bessette
