Senior School pupils from Year 7 to Year 11 delivered a vibrant and unforgettable performance of Little Shop of Horrors this week, transforming the stage into the bustling – and slightly bizarre – world of Skid Row Their production showcased not only impressive acting talent, but also exceptional teamwork, musical skill, and creative flair
From the outset, audiences were drawn into the story of Seymour, Audrey, and the mysterious man eating plant that changes their lives forever. The cast brought energy and personality to every scene, with confident vocals, polished choreography, and a clear enthusiasm for the quirky humour of this much loved musical Behind the scenes, pupils worked tirelessly on set design, lighting, sound, props, and costume, contributing to a visually striking and immersive production Their efforts ensured that every detail helped bring the story to life
The performance was a true testament to the pupils’ dedication over months of rehearsals. We are incredibly proud of our young performers, whose hard work and creativity resulted in a hugely entertaining and memorable show Congratulations to everyone involved in making Little Shop of Horrors such a standout success: Mr Penfold, Mrs de Voil, the Art Department, Mr Hennegan, the Facilities team and, of course, all of our pupils who performed in, supported and assisted in directing the play

Cranmore STEM Club achieved an outstanding victory, winning First Place (the Judges Award) at the ISA STEM Finals 2026. This remarkable accomplishment reflects the pupils’ creativity, teamwork, and impressive scientific thinking We are incredibly proud of their innovation and dedication throughout the competition

On Wednesday, a Faith Discussion Evening was held at St Teresa’s We were delighted to welcome Fr Toby Lees, Fiorella Nash, and Fr Charles Benoit, who spoke about the changing landscape of AI and what St Francis can teach us as we navigate these times of rapid transformation It was a truly inspiring evening one that reminded us both of who we are and who we are called to be.
Two ideas particularly stood out for me The first was the question: Who are we becoming? In an age when AI seems to make so many things easier, we should remember that our identity is not defined by what we do, but by the people we are becoming The second was the importance of attention what we give it to, and how essential it is to be fully present with one another
We look forward to welcoming you to the next Faith Discussion Evening!
Mr Jakubowski

Last Friday, 13th March, the CPA Quiz Night brought together enthusiastic teams and some healthy competition Fuelled by an excellent curry dinner provided by our school caterers, Harrisons, teams enjoyed the same delicious food their children are served each day, a highlight that was appreciated by all
There was plenty of suspense and detailed strategy throughout the night as teams tactically played their Joker card to double their points in different rounds, causing the leaderboard to shift dramatically right up to the final moments At the end of a fun filled evening, the Year 5 parents emerged victorious, with the staff team coming in a respectable joint second place.
Thank you to the CPA volunteers who generously gave up their time to organise the evening, it was a wonderful chance for parents to come together, share great food, and enjoy some friendly rivalry. There is already excited talk about a date for next year’s quiz night, and we hope many more of you will join us for this highly anticipated annual event!

Year 10 pupils brought tremendous energy to the Digital Schoolhouse Esports regional qualifier, delivering strong performances and only narrowly missing out in their final match Beyond the excitement of competition, Esports offers valuable opportunities to develop digital literacy and problem solving skills These capabilities are increasingly recognised in the wider world, where organisations now use game based assessments to evaluate candidates’ critical thinking, adaptability and teamwork in dynamic, engaging environments
At Cranmore, Esports is underpinned by a commitment to helping pupils explore future career pathways within the industry By connecting them with leading gaming companies and highlighting the creative possibilities within the sector, we aim to inspire pupils to see how their skills and passions can translate into a thriving future in the world of games and interactive media

After a spell of challenging weather conditions, it has been fantastic to see our rowers finally back out on the water. More than 40 pupils from Year 7 to Year 11 now take part in rowing at Cranmore, and we are fortunate to have several highly competitive squads developing across the age groups During the period when water sessions were not possible, the pupils showed excellent commitment by maintaining their training on land Their programme included extensive ergometer work, running, and a range of strength and fitness sessions designed to ensure continued progress despite the conditions
Now that the weather has improved, we are looking forward to an uninterrupted stretch of training at our partner venue, Walton Rowing Club The rowers are eager to make the most of the opportunity, and we are excited to see their continued development over the coming weeks

Tuesday was an outstanding day for the school and for Cranmore’s rugby programme Our U10 and U11 teams took part in the Surrey Schools Rugby 7s, hosted at Trinity, and both age groups delivered exceptional performances. The U10s went undefeated in their group before progressing to a three way play off with two of the other top performing schools Cranmore beat Bishopsgate 15–10 and followed this with an impressive 20–0 victory over Dulwich to be crowned champions. The U11s also topped their group and moved into a knockout format. They produced a dominant 30–10 win over Dulwich in the semi final and then secured the title with a 20–10 victory against Hornsby in the final It is extremely rare for a school to win two age group tournaments on the same day, making this achievement even more special.
