North Iceland - The Official Tousist Guide 2011. North Iceland Marketing Office, located in the town of Akureyri, is responsible for marketing and promoting North Iceland in the tourism industry. The goal of North Iceland Marketing Office is to strengthen the image of North Iceland and promote it as the ideal tourist destination for visitors to Iceland. The Marketing Office is owned by the two tourist associations in the north of Iceland; the Tourist Association of Northwest Iceland Ltd. and the Tourist Association of Northeast Iceland Ltd.
