Passion to Purpose One-third of undergraduate students change their majors within three years of enrollment, due to the lack or abundance of career knowledge. Why does this occur? I believe the lack of career path courses offered by high schools around the United States is responsible. Common career path courses can include, engineering, information technology, health, and business which align with the top 5 most common majors in the U.S. according to the National Center for Education Statistics. In eDynamic's curriculum, students have a wide range of career path courses that are not offered in many U.S. high schools. In-person students lack career courses to choose from whereas eDynamic students have a wide selection of courses. With eDynamic's course selection, I was able to match my skills and interest with a specific job profession right for me. eDynamic Leaming has helped me discover great careers through incredibly detailed classes that highlight career-specific fields. Having these detailed courses, allowed me to match my skills to a specific career. For example, my Human Resources class offered through eDynamic highlighted the fundamentals of HR management such as recruiting, developing hiring plans for a company, training new hires, interviewing, etc. Therefore, the basic skills to excel in HR management would be communication, leadership, and organizational skills. After taking cybersecurity, I could handle the project work but I did not enjoy the detail involved. I did not plan on going into the cybersecurity field, it was more of an interest. After taking the eDynamic's course, I realized that I do not want to go into a career working on computers. Working on computers is not difficult, but I would not enjoy being under the constant stress of needing to fix and update company computer software. Companies want the project completed with urgency but sometimes it takes longer than expected. Being under companies need-now mentality would be stressful for me because working at a faster pace could increase errors. When fixing a company's security software that can lead to bigger problems. I have always had an outstanding work ethic and leadership characteristics which are important skills companies seek in job applicants. After learning about multiple career fields on eDynamic, I discovered my skills match different career paths. However, when I reviewed closer through the course work; I realized that I do not want to work under certain pressures that some career paths would take me.
