Cattlemen & Cattlewomen,

The Nebraska Cattlemen’s Classic is extremely excited to get out and ”hit the Road” in January. Classic organizers and the Cornerstone Sponsors will be traveling the state of Nebraska again this January.

The Nebraska Cattlemen’s Classic wants to invite you to be a part of our 24th annual event. The Classic will kick off its opening weekend on Saturday, February 14th and continues through Sunday, February 22nd.

Last year the “Classic On the Road” was in Lexington, Columbus, Bruning, Red Cloud, North Platte and Broken Bow. The Classic Team had the opportunity to visit with over 600 cattlemen and serve them a great BEEF dinner.

I am writing this letter as a fellow cattleman to cattlemen all across the Nation. I want to take a moment to remind cattlemen that the Classic is our event. As a cattleman, it is an exciting time as we are seeing record prices for our calves this Fall.

Ranch Horse Rodeo, Ranch Horse Competition & Horse Sale

Hello Cattle Friends Young & Old! I am excited to invite everyone to the 24th Annual Nebraska Cattlemen’s Classic. Last year we announced a new schedule for the Classic. This year we are working to improve all the opportunities for cattlemen young and old at the Classic. Summertime seems to go faster and faster every year. In June, we held our Cattle Feeders Tour for the youth who purchased heifers or steers at the Classic. We had a great day with 14 youth from across the state of Nebraska. I want to thank the parents of these youth for allowing them to spend the day with us. It was an honor to meet and get to know these “future leaders” in the Beef Industry. This fall our goal is to spend more time out in the country and less time in front of the computer. We want to personally invite cattlemen to be a part of the 24th Annual Classic this February. The Classic is “your event” to showcase your seedstock to other cattlemen from all across the Midwest. We want to showcase a tremendous set of Horses, Bulls, Bred Heifers and Heifers this February at the Classic! The Classic will kick off on opening weekend Saturday, February 14th and Sunday, February 15th. The opening weekend features the Ranch Rodeo, Ranch Horse Competition and Ranch

Horse Sale. The weekend will also feature displays in the Classic Market Place. Monday, February 16 will be set-up day for the cattle to begin arriving. Tuesday, February 17 is Cattlemen’s Day at the Classic. Don’t miss the unique opportunities for you on this day at the Classic.

Make sure and check out the opening weekend of the Classic on Saturday, February 14th & Sunday, February 15th. The horse events will be open to Classic sale horses only. The opening weekend will include the Classic Market Place that will feature a variety of displays. Horse competitors will have the opportunity to win $1,000 cash

awards, buckles, a saddle and jackets!

Wednesday, February 18th will begin the cattle shows and sales for the week at the Classic. The cattle shows and sales continue through Saturday, February 21st. The week long events will conclude on Junior weekend with Junior Show, Judging Contest and The Grand Finale... Supreme Row Judging. The Supreme Champion Horse received $1,000 cash award. This horse also earned several other prizes during the Ranch Rodeo including a saddle, buckle and jacket.

Supreme Champion Female Supreme Champion Female was the Grand Champion Purebred Maine Anjou Heifer Lot 18 , BBR Kashmirs Girl 1290Z , consigned by Blind Badger Ranch of Fort Morgan, CO . This heifer is a 05/4/2012 daughter of HAA Wisdom 505S and she sold to Timothy and Jake Zahm of Osecola, NE for $ 13,750. The consignors of the Supreme Champion Bull & Heifer each received $2,800 in cash awards and jackets. The buyers of the Supreme Champion Bull & Heifer each received $1,000 cash awards.

YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES AT THE CLASSIC

The Classic features a full week of cattle shows and sales and much more. The Nebraska Cattlemen’s Classic wants to invite cattlemen and businessmen to be a part of the event for cattlemen and cattlewomen from all across the Midwest. The Classic will attract nearly 100 different vendors to showcase their products and services at the Classic. The Classic will showcase nearly 1,000 head of cattle throughout the week long event.

The Nebraska Cattlemen’s Classic is proud to invest in the future leaders in the Beef Industry. The Classic and Sponsors have invested thousands of dollars in awards and scholarships for youth. Juniors: make sure and check out all your opportunities at the Classic.

The Classic will invite cattlemen to showcase their seedstock at any of the 12 different sales featured at the Classic. Cattlemen are also encouraged to take advantage of the Live Cattle Display option during the week. The Classic will wrap up with the Junior Weekend and the Grand Finale on Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22nd.

These three young ladies were also inducted into the Classic Ambassador Program. They will have the opportunity to attend sales and events this Fall and the Nebraska Cattlemen’s Convention. They will be on hand to discuss the opportunities the Classic has for the future leaders in the Beef Industry.

2014 SUMMER TOUR OF AREA FEEDLOTS This summer 14 youth from across the state of Nebraska who had purchased a steer or heifer at the Classic enjoyed touring Sweetwater Cattle Co., Darr Feedlot and K Farms-Keiser Feedlot in Gothenburg, Nebraska. The youth also had the opportunity to learn more about the Beef Industry concerning animal health and feed options. Representatives from Merck Animal Health, Dupont, Purina Mills, Plains Equipment Group and CPI enjoyed sharing information with the youth throughout the day. The youth concluded the day by hearing from Jeff Rudolph, President of the Nebraska Cattlemen. He shared with the youth the benefits of being members of the Nebraska Cattlemen and the scholarship opportunities that the NC has for youth in Nebraska. The youth all received several prizes throughout the day. The Nebraska Cattlemen’s Classic was excited to have 14 youth participating in the Classic Scholarship Feedlot Tours this year.

NEW THIS YEAR 3/4 bloods will show in the PB Show. • The NSA and the NCC reserves the right to combine the shows if each division does not meet the entry requirements of the Classic. • All cattle entries showing and selling must have the “green” ASA genetic defect status on the ASA certificate of registration. Cattle that are yellow or red status are not eligible to show or sell unless tested clean by check-in time. • An EPD, weight, and scrotal measurement data sheet will be made. PEN OF 5 TERMS & CONDITIONS FRIDAY, FEB. 20, 2015 - 6 PM

The heifers will be stalled in south-front of the Exposition Building. The heifers will be displayed in this area during the Classic. The heifers will be video taped on Thursday starting at NOON. The heifers will sell on the video screen on Friday at 6 pm. The heifers will not run into the building or the sale ring. Commercial, Registered, Open or Bred Heifers featured in this sale. NO fitting-cattle will be loose in the pen. The heifers will be judged on Thursday afternoon. A Champion and Reserve Champion Pen will be selected. The sale order will also be set at this time. A Champion and Reserve Champion Pen of 5 will be selected. The Champion Pen will receive $500 and the Reserve Pen will receive $250. 1. All entries must include the entry fee of $250 per pen. (Entries done on-line, if you need assistance call 308.627.6385) 2. Pen size shall be 5 head, selling as a pen not split. No individuals will be sold from the pen. Consignors can have the option to bring a additional heifer for the pen (making 6 head to the pen). The option can be given for buyers to select the 5 head of choice or buy all 6 head.

3. All heifers must be checked in by Thursday, February 19 at 10:00 am. Pens will be available earlier in the week. Pens must be vacated by 6:00 pm on Saturday, February 21. ALL SIDES OF THE PEN WILL REMAIN UP DURING EVENT. 4. ALL catalog information must be turned in with the entries. IF YOU ARE SELLING THE HEIFERS AS REGISTERED HEIFERS, YOU MUST BRING THE PAPERS WITH YOU TO THE CLASSIC. THE REGISTRATION PAPERS WILL BE GIVEN TO THE NEW OWNERS. 5. The Classic commission is 9% commission per pen. The minimum commission on a pen is $250. The $250 will be credited back to the sale proceeds on each pen. 6. The heifers will have a $35 bedding fee. Bred heifers will have a $70 per pen bedding fee. Tie out space will be available through the Livestock Office. Tie out space outside of the pen must be requested at the office. All wood shavings are provided. NO straw is allowed on the Fairgrounds. 7. All heifers must be weaned. The maximum age limit shall be 30 months.

Sale Conditions The sale will be limited to 20 lots. All guarantees will be between the buyer and seller. The sale commission will be 13.25%. The entry fee will be $150 per lot entered. Sellers must provide all information on the embryos, flushes, semen and pregnancies offered for sale. All settlements will be made the day of the sale at the Nebraska Cattlemen’s Classic. All guarantees and adjustments will be between the buyer and seller. Embryo Packages Will consist of a minimum of 3 embryos. All details of the package must be outlined with entry. The Right to Flush A minimum of six grade one, transferable embryos are guaranteed to the buyer. All details

of the flush will be documented with the entry. Semen All semen is guaranteed to be of acceptable quality but no guarantee is made as to the conception rate. However, in all cases, the buyer will be responsible for all shipping arrangements and expense. Pregnant Recipients All details of the pregnancy will be outlined with entry. In the case of already realized pregnancies (i.e. embryos that have been implanted and confirmed pregnant) the buyer will pay 100% of the purchase price sale day. Each of these recipient females has been examined for pregnancy by a qualified vet and is fully guaranteed to be carrying the mating described in its respective lot on or about the time agreed upon by the buyer and the seller.
