It takes a flower

Interdisciplinary paths for a creative school

Children see the world through eyes that are different from those of adults. That is why a poppy or a rose is never “just” a flower, but a special encounter with nature and its beauty. Flowers carry wonder, questions and possibilities. The task of adults, in turn, is to learn from this ever-renewed gaze, understanding that looking at a flower means connecting with oneself and with nature. Under the scientific direction of Alessandra Falconi, the volume offers teachers, librarians, museum and cultural professionals eight interdisciplinary pathways that weave together art, history, science and poetry, restoring the flower to its role as a vital symbol and a tool for knowledge.

The school that makes you learn

“Learning isn’t just understanding: it’s feeling, choosing, remembering, trusting.” In this new book, Daniela Lucangeli guides us into the most fascinating laboratory we have: the learning brain. With a caring perspective, the author brings together neuroscience, developmental psychology and everyday classroom life to answer the question that truly matters: what does the brain need in order to learn well? A clear, engaging journey designed for teachers, educators and anyone who believes that knowledge should not be filled, but nourished.

EDUCATIONAL ALLIANCES

When these two worlds come together, every difficulty can become an opportunity for growth. Through 10 chapters, the book guides teachers, educators and parents along a path that alternates between theoretical reflections and practical tools, with the aim of recognising educational alliances as a tangible resource.

POINTS OF VIEW

50 flash cards for conscious argumentation and discussion

We often interpret the world around us based on our social and cultural background, our values, and our personal experiences. Therefore, the same situation can be viewed from different perspectives, and there isn’t necessarily a right or wrong one. These tools help middle and high school students reflect on everyday situations, express their own point of view, and consider those of others

The material is designed for classroom use and consists of 50 flashcards referring to events or conversations that have taken place online and in person between young people and to the use of language that reinforces stereotypes and prejudice. It provides teachers with appropriate discussion techniques tailored to a variety of situations.

This volume offers concrete, validated tools for those who care daily for a person with aphasia and face daily communication challenges. It presents two innovative and complementary tools:

• The ACCA-cl Scale , an assessment grid for structured evaluation of the caregiver’s communicative competence;

• The TIC-TAC Method, a flexible training programme to help caregivers become effective conversational partners, even in the early stages of aphasia.

Through theory, operational protocols and clinical examples, the volume shows how to integrate these tools into rehabilitation to improve interaction, support autonomy, and reduce caregiver burden

SOS Aggression

Mini-guides to problem behaviours in autism spectrum disorders

This volume offers practical, easy-to-apply strategies to prevent and reduce aggressive behaviours in children with autism, actively involving parents, caregivers, teachers and educators. Drawing on key international frameworks, including the DSM-5-TR and the ICF bio-psycho-social model, the book views aggression as a form of communication—an expression of a need, a difficulty or a state of distress.

A concrete support for adapting environments, communicating effectively during crisis moments and fostering a calmer, more supportive atmosphere at home, at school and in everyday life.

SOS Food selectivity

Mini-guides to problem behaviours in autism spectrum disorders

This volume provides practical support for parents, teachers, and professionals dealing with food selectivity in children, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Drawing on their clinical experience, the authors offer an integrated approach that combines practical strategies, sensory activities, and observation tools

The book starts with an analysis of the causes of food selectivity, dividing them into three main areas:

• Organic and gastrointestinal factors;

• Sensory perception differences;

• Rigid and routine behaviours typical of autism.

Using questionnaires, observations, and practical tools, the volume guides readers in building personalised interventions, offering support not only for children but also for parents, teachers, and practitioners.

Have you done your homework?

Breakthrough guides for parents who have tried everything

This book speaks to parents of pre-adolescents who feel they have “tried everything” and offers concrete tools, guided dialogues and practical strategies to reduce the conflicts that arise around homework. Page after page, it helps readers identify where the real difficulty lies: is it simply a lack of motivation? Disorganisation? Poor time management? Or could it relate to deeper issues involving motivation, emotions and self-efficacy? One of the book’s key strengths is its portrayal of everyday situations through two voices: that of the parent and that of the child. Two perspectives on the same afternoon, often worlds apart. Bringing these viewpoints into dialogue makes it possible to overcome misunderstandings, reduce misinterpretations and build more effective communication.

The colourful illustrations enrich the stories, turning each page into an immersive experience, like a little film on paper. Readers can follow the clues, stick on the stickers, complete the investigation notebook and become budding spelling detectives

A Little Survival Guide to a Changing Planet

Feeling anxious about the planet’s future is becoming increasingly common. This illustrated book helps readers to recognise and name the emotions linked to the environmental crisis: eco-anxiety, solastalgia, eco-paralysis… but also biophilia, eutierria and other positive climate emotions. Through practical ideas, exercises and reflections, it offers tools to transform environmental sensitivity into the energy to act. Talking about eco-emotions is not a sign of weakness, but of awareness: it means being connected to the world and wanting to protect it.

Beat your obsession

Gabriella Simoni NOT JUST "MARANZINE"

The girls we do not want to see

Not just "maranzine" brings together eleven intense, authentic stories by young Italian and non-Italian women marked by violence, marginalisation, abuse and loneliness. These are accounts that avoid emotional shortcuts, offering a powerful portrayal of a often-hidden reality—deep wounds, and very young lives tested far too soon. The book becomes a map of female generational distress, giving voice to the “maranzine” and to all the girls and young women fighting to be seen and heard. A powerful, necessary journey into the darker side of society, but also into the resilience, humanity and determination of those who, every day, seek a way out.
