PRESIDENTS REPORT

Hello and welcome to the G.J. Gardner Ellinbank & District Football Netball League Grand Finals for 2025!

Congratulations and all the best to all the football and netball teams participating today. It’s fantastic to see ten different clubs represented on Grand Final day. Making it to this last day of the season is a triumph in itself and unfortunately only one team can hold each of the premiership cups high after the final siren blows.

2025 has been another great year for the EDFNL. I’d like to acknowledge the club and league administrators who continue to keep football and netball running smoothly week in and week out. Countless hours and energy goes in to what can be a thankless job to ensure players can run out onto the fields and courts each week. Volunteers are the lifeblood of all our clubs, and we thank you all very much.

Thank you to the Gippsland Umpires Association. Every season brings challenges, and as we continue to work together and navigate through them. We look forward to continuing to build the partnership and umpiring engagement in 2026 and beyond. A shout out to the club umpires who covered the Reserves matches this year. Thank you to all the netball umpires across the League for your time to officiate matches. Umpires play an important role in the successful delivery of matches for football and netball.

To my EDFNL Board Directors - Karen, Chris, Meaghan and Connor, and the subcommittee members - Sophia, Tanya, Steve, Roger, Alan, Debbie, & Angela - thank you for all your countless hours and dedicated contribution to the League in 2025. We continue to learn and evolve as an administrative group, striving to deliver the best competition possible for clubs and players.

On Sunday and Monday, we hosted the G.J. Gardner EDFNL Junior and Senior vote counts as presentations. Congratulations to all the Award recipients - individuals and clubs - for your outstanding season. Ellinbank claimed the Football Club Championship, Neerim South won the Netball Club Championship and also took home the overall ERobin Hood League Club Championship (football and netball combined).

The Most Disciplined Club Awards went to Buln Buln (Senior)

and Neerim South (Junior).

Longwarry Football Netball Club was recognised for their community engagement, through fundraising and awareness of important issues with the Warragul Downtowner Community Club of the Year award.

The junior football competition grew in 2025, with 11 teams in the Under 16 competition and 10 teams in the Under 18s. The Junior representative program consisting of Under 16s Intraleague and Interleague (versus West Gippsland), Under 18s Interleague (Gippsland Carnival) and Netball Association Championships (junior netball) was a highlight of the year again. The development of the juniors is a priority for the League. Thank you to all the coaches and volunteers who made selections, training and matches happen.

None of the EDFNL competitions and programing is possible without the support of our valued sponsors. Thank you to G.J. Gardner Homes, our naming rights sponsor in 2025. It’s been fantastic to have you on board for your inaugural year, and we look forward to continuing the partnership long into the future.

NETBALL REVIEW PRELIMINARY FINALS

The Preliminary Finals were held at Caldermeade in hot but perfect conditions, with big crowds turning out to support their clubs, knowing the stakes were high. The atmosphere was electric, with every contest just as fierce as the sun that shone all day.

The 13 & Under Preliminary Final between Buln Buln and Bunyip was a tight contest early before the Lyrebirds’ consistency proved the difference. At quarter time Buln held a narrow 5–4 lead, with both sides applying strong defensive pressure and making goals hard to come by.

Buln continued their steady approach into the second term, shooting another five goals while restricting the Bulldogs to four. At half time the Lyrebirds had edged two goals clear, 10–8, with centre Macy Eastwell beginning to take control through the midcourt.

From there, Buln Buln gradually pulled away. Their ability to post five goals a quarter across all four terms underpinned a reliable performance, while Bunyip simply couldn’t find enough firepower to stay in the contest. The Lyrebirds closed out the match 20–10 to secure a place in the Grand Final. Centre Macy Eastwell was named Best on Court for her tireless efforts.

The 15 & Under Preliminary Final was a replay of the Qualifying Final, with Poowong and Lang Lang meeting again in another tight battle. This time the Magpies started strongly, putting the Tigers on the back foot with their defensive pressure and clean finishing. Poowong led 6–2 at quarter time and extended the advantage to 12–6 by half time and looked well in control of the contest.

Lang Lang regrouped after the break, lifting their work rate through the midcourt and converting more efficiently in the circle. They outscored Poowong 9–7 in the third quarter to reduce the deficit to four goals, and carried that momentum into the last term. The Tigers continued to surge, finding rhythm in attack and winning the second half 15–11, but their fightback left them just short.

Poowong steadied in the dying minutes to hold off the fast-finishing Tigers, running out 23–21 winners to claim a place in the Grand Final. Captain Nicola Fort led from the front in Goal Attack, to be named Best on Court.

The 17 & Under Preliminary Final saw Lang Lang take on Catani for a place in the Grand Final. The Tigers made the perfect start, with goal shooter Tiani Johnson almost unstoppable in the circle. She scored 12 of her side’s 13 goals in the opening quarter, giving Lang Lang a 13–7 lead and all the early momentum.

Catani worked hard to respond in the second quarter, adjusting through the midcourt and tightening their defensive pressure. Despite their efforts, Lang Lang continued to find answers in attack and went into half time with a 6 goal advantage.

The third quarter brought Catani’s best patch of the game. They threw multiple positional changes across the court in search of a spark, and it paid dividends as they closed the margin to three goals by the final change. With the momentum shifting, the stage was set for a thrilling finish.

The last quarter delivered on the tension, with Catani pushing hard and creating opportunities, Lang Lang held firm, taking their chances when it mattered. The Tigers steadied to record a 36–33 win and book their Grand Final spot. Goal Attack Ebony Michie was a standout across four quarters and was named Best on Court for Lang Lang.

The C Grade Preliminary Final between Neerim South and Trafalgar was a tight contest from the outset, with both teams desperate to keep their season alive. The Cats opened strongly but Trafalgar’s defensive pressure quickly turned the momentum. Accurate shooting gave Traf a 10–6 lead at quarter time.

Neerim South fought back in the second quarter through the hard work of centre Emily Robb, who provided drive through the midcourt and fed her

shooters well. The switch of Nari Abrahams into goal keeper also gave the Cats more presence in defence. Trafalgar, however, continued to capitalise on their opportunities, holding a narrow 17–16 lead at half time.

The third term was a true arm wrestle as both sides traded goals and fought for every possession. Neerim South worked tirelessly to stay in touch, with defenders creating turnovers to keep the game on edge. Trafalgar, however, kept their composure and carried a slim onegoal lead, 24–23, into the final break.

The last quarter lived up to the occasion, with Neerim pushing hard but Trafalgar holding firm under pressure. Their alternating goalers, Courtney McLatchie and Lucy Coulthard, proved pivotal, each stepping up in their quarters to combine for 25 of the side’s 32 goals. At the other end, goal defence Gracie Dempsey was outstanding in cutting off Neerim’s attacking plays, her dominance earning Best on Court as Trafalgar steadied for a 32–30 victory.

The B Grade Preliminary Final brought together Ellinbank and Bunyip in a high-pressure contest, with the Bulldogs welcoming back coach Jade Taylor after her return from a wedding in Bali. Both teams started nervously, with defensive pressure creating plenty of turnovers. Ellinbank steadied first and strung together five goals in a row to lead 10–6 at quarter time.

The second term proved decisive in typical Ellinbank fashion. Their defensive unit tightened, and with longrange shooting complementing their sharp midcourt play, the Eagles outscored Bunyip 15–8 for the quarter to take a commanding 25–14 lead into half time.

Bunyip refused to give in, rallying in the second half with renewed intensity. They won the third quarter on the back of strong defensive work and accurate shooting, reducing the deficit to seven goals at the final break. Their momentum carried into the last term, where they further closed the gap to three goals before Ellinbank regained their composure.

The Eagles steadied in the dying stages, showing their experience to close out a 42–36 victory. While Bunyip won the second half 22–18, the damage had been done in the second quarter. Goal Keeper Emma Robertson was a standout for Ellinbank, her intercepts and defensive presence earning her Best on Court honours.

The A Grade Preliminary Final brought together reigning premiers Nilma Darnum and Ellinbank in what promised to be a fierce battle for a Grand Final spot. The Bombers made the stronger start, with captain and goal shooter Hayley Purcell leading from the front to guide her side to a 6 goal quarter-time lead.

Ellinbank took advantage of Nilma’s loss of focus in the second quarter, just as Neerim South had the previous week. With their midcourt finding more flow and defensive pressure forcing turnovers, the Eagles surged back into the game and cut the margin to just two goals, 29–27, at half time.

Nilma regrouped after the break and returned with renewed intensity. The introduction of Caitlyn Frecklington into Wing Defence added extra spark, helping to shut down Ellinbank’s midcourt drive and turning momentum back the Bombers’ way. Their defensive pressure forced errors, and with Purcell continuing to finish strongly under the post, Nilma pushed their lead back out to eight at three-quarter time.

Ellinbank threw everything at the game in the last quarter, with coach Jaz Ferguson making bold changes. Taylah Wallace moved into Wing Attack and even rotated into Goal Attack, while Chloe Johnstone shifted back to Goal Keeper to combat the height of Purcell and Skye Rees. The switches brought some hope, but Nilma’s composure ensured they maintained control.

Nilma Darnum ran out 60–48 winners to secure their return to the Grand Final and keep their title defence alive. Purcell was the standout across four quarters and was Best on Court.

WARRAGUL DOWNTOWNER COMMUNITY CLUB OF THE YEAR

Congratulations to Longwarry Football Netball Club who were awarded the 2025 Warragul Downtowner Community Club of the Year at the Senior presentation night on Monday 8 September.

The Longwarry Football Netball Club aims to be more than just a place to play sport.

Their vision is to grow participation in football and netball while creating a safe, inclusive environment where people feel supported and connected. They’re committed to raising awareness of important community issues and creating space for open conversations, working alongside local groups to make a meaningful impact.

2025 has been one of their most impactful seasons yet. The Longwarry Football Netball Club were involved in the following events:

• Pink Stumps Day, Breast Cancer Awareness - joining forces with the local cricket club, it’s a pre-season community event that includes kids’ activities and fundraising efforts for breast cancer research.

• ANZAC Round - paying respects by partciiapting in the local ANZAC Service, as well as hosting a commemorative ceremony before the designated round, including a special medal presentation to honour the ANZAC spirit.

• Indigenous Round - where education is at the heart of thr round. Including a moving smoking ceremony from aboriginal elder Cheryl Drayton, and Berny Wells sharing insights into the rich indigenous histroy of the region and the club.

• Cassidy Crew Footy Training - hosting the crew for a training session, running a fun and inclusive session followed by a traditional footy dinner. This highlighted commitment to inclusivity and growing club

connections.

• Mindful Aus Mental Health Round - with the key message “Let’s change the culture - Speak up, Reach out, Be there.” Player Jay Wells is a proud ambassador for Mindful Aus and the day raised awareness and funds.

• and Do it for Dani – Cancer Awareness Round - a deeply personal initiative in support of long-time committee member Dani who is battling terminal cancer. The event centred on the key message “In this family, no one fights alone” and the club and community came together to raise over $16,000.

The club also supported Ellinbank’s Fragile X round, and attended the Walk to Australia Zoo – a community fundraiser organised by Nilma Darnum Junior Football Club.

Congratulations to Kody Wilson from Neerim Neerim South on being awarded the Mercure Hotels Warragul 2025 Most Valuable Player. The MVP is voted on by the Coaches, each Senior Coach gives a 3,2,1, a total of 12 votes on offer.

This makes it back to back MVPs for the Neerim South Co-Coach. Kody polled in 14 of a possible 18 rounds and scored a perfect round on four occasions where he was voted Best on Ground by both Coaches.

Well here we are, the final Saturday of season 2025.

Firstly a massive thank you to all our wonderful volunteers for a fantastic year. Without your dedication each week our club wouldn’t function as the well oiled machine that it is.

A big well done to Ned Ashton on being selected in the Senior EDFL Team of the Year, a great recognition of his hard work and talent.

Congratulations also to Lisa Proctor (1st) and Talise Berryman (3rd) on their brilliant results in the B Grade League Best & Fairest – an outstanding achievement for both players and for our club.

Netball:

Goodluck to all teams for the 2025 Grandfinal!

The prelim final at Lang Lang was the final chapter for both teams on Saturday.

Under 13s couldn’t close the margin with their strong rivals but put their all onto the court. We couldn’t be prouder of the way they conducted themselves throughout the whole season, right until the final whistle. Our club has a bright future with these under 13 stars. Congratulations to our wonderful coaches for guiding them in this journey.

B grade staged a daring 4th quarter comeback to within 3 goals, after trailing by 9. Unfortunately, Ellinbank were able to hold off the determined Bulldogs and claim the win on the day. The whole team should hold their heads high after a fantastic display of grit.

The league vote count took place on Monday night where Lisa Proctor was announced B Grade Best and Fairest. Congratulations on a fantastic season Proc, we’re sure it has been one to remember!

Another Monday night victory came in the form of our midweek under 13s claiming their Grand Final victory at the Warragul and Distract Netball Association. Congratulations little legends.

As we close the chapter on another football and netball season, I want to take this opportunity to reflect on our achievements and thank everyone who has contributed to making this year such a success.

Firstly, to our committee – thank you for the countless hours you have given behind the scenes. Your hard work in planning, organising, and problem-solving ensures that our club continues to thrive. The commitment you show to both football and netball is the backbone of our community, and I am truly grateful for the dedication you bring each week. It’s been a long season, so please go and enjoy a well deserved break, well for a few weeks anyway.

To our huge band of volunteers, your leadership, encouragement, and willingness to step in wherever needed has made a huge difference. Whether it be trainings, game days, coaches, canteen, team managers, bar, trainers, runners, time keepers, umpires, ground curators, canteen, grants, functions & fundraising events, your efforts have not gone unnoticed and I cannot thank you enough.

To our players, congratulations on the way you have represented our club on and off the field and court. Whether it was your first season or you’re a long-time player, the spirit, determination, and sportsmanship you’ve shown has been inspiring. We’ve celebrated some great achievements this

year – including A grade making finals for the first time in 18 years, U17s going through to the big dance undefeated, C grade making another finals appearance, seniors, reserves & U18s finishing 2nd on the ladder, many, many milestone games and these are just some of the moments we can all be proud of.

AND then there were two.

Trafalgar will have the final chance to knock over the undefeated Neerim-Neerim South when the Ellinbank District football deciders are played out on the Bloods’ home ground on Saturday.

Although challenged by Longwarry in the second semi final, the Cats have been a class above and enter the grand final with the opportunity to be crowned premiers and champions.

They boast a forward line that can be difficult to contain with key targets Lachlan Bambridge and Kai Mounsey supported by the likes of centurion goal kicker Mason McGarrity and Luke Kinder at their feet.

It’s midfield also looms as a difficult prospect with the likes of co-coach Kody Wilson and William Papley driving them forward, complemented by Ayden Ramm running all day on a wing.

Co-coach Tom Muir leads an organised defence that has conceded the least amount of points this season.

Trafalgar will enter the contest buoyed by improved form that saw them charge home over Buln Buln and then kick away from Longwarry.

Led by Brad Hoffman, the Bloods’ defence has almost been as stingy, conceding just 17-points more than this week’s opponent.

Captain Dylan Farrell will back himself to provide first use to his midfield to bring an equally potent forward line into the mix.

The Bloods would have been impressed with William Claridge stepping up in the forward line last week.

Blake Slater, if he can get up from a knock to the knee, will provide a good leading target alongside Brewster brothers Danny and Shane.

Isaac Caroleo is evasive with Kyle Beveridge and Matthew Devon also capable to find themselves among the goal.

Dylan Gauci works hard and could find himself with a role on Saturday in what is expected to be an intriguing match up.

LANG LANG will take on Trafalgar after winning through in the Reserves.

They will face a determined Bloods side looking to start their day on the right foot.

ELLINBANK have been the team to beat in the under 18 competition, but will face a Buln Buln side that has shown improved form to advance.

BUNYIP will face off against Poowong in the under 16s, the Magpies looking to put in an improved performance from the qualifying final to challenge the Bulldogs.

NETBALL GRAND FINAL PREVIEW

The 2025 EDFNL Netball Grand Finals will, for the first time, be staged at Trafalgar next Saturday, with nine of the league’s 12 clubs represented across the six Grades. With premiers-champion titles on the line and a huge crowd expected, it promises to be a showcase of the league’s best young talent and senior stars.

The headline act of the day will see Neerim South and Nilma Darnum meet in the A Grade Grand Final for the third time in four years. In 2022 it was Neerim who claimed the flag, in 2024 Nilma responded, and now in 2025 the rivalry is set for a blockbuster decider with everything on the line. The Cats are undefeated this season and chasing the premiers-champions crown, while the Bombers enter as reigning premiers determined to defend their title.

The contest is stacked with fascinating individual battles across the court. In the shooting circle, Neerim’s Kimberley Edwards and Nicole Alcock will carry the scoring load, their movement and accuracy vital against Nilma’s defensive trio of Melanie Cook, Nikki Mirams and Ondine Olsson. Cook’s ability to read the play, Mirams’ reliability, and Olsson’s height and leap give Nilma one of the most versatile defensive units in the league.

Through the midcourt, Neerim’s speed and flair will be tested against Nilma’s steadiness and power. Mia Muir and Ava McGarrity will look to feed quickly and precisely into their goalers, supported by the tenacity of captain

Kasey Tymkin at wing defence. Matching up against them will be Nilma’s Madlyn Borsato, whose speed and precision feeding has been a standout, Rachael Chandler, whose tireless effort provides stability, and rising star Mia Tweddle, whose confidence and pace can break games open.

At the other end, the clash between Neerim’s defence and Nilma’s “twin towers” will be pivotal. Hayley Purcell has been the competition’s dominant shooter this season with her height and holding strength, while Skye Rees provides agility and long-range shooting to complement her captain. They’ll be tested by player-coach Christie Urie, whose defensive pressure is second to none, and the reliable Paris Smith, with the possibility of Elly Radford stepping up to add height and intercepting strength.

Neerim rarely rotate their line-up, but have the option of introducing Tessa Fusinato into defence to free up Urie for a midcourt role if needed or Ash Barneveld into goals. Nilma, with Stacey Lawry directing from the sidelines, may look to change the flow of the game with the likes of Caitlyn Frecklington injecting strength through the middle. Gabrielle Paynter can add further long-range shooting, and Halle Wouters midcourt speed. The tactical nous of Urie and Nilma’s coaching group will no doubt be on display.

With one win each across their last two Grand Final meetings, and so much talent on both sides, this year’s A Grade decider promises

to be gripping viewing and well worth the admission price. Two fierce teams, a fierce rivalry, and the premiership on the line — it doesn’t get much better.

The day will begin with the 9am centre pass for the 13 & Under Grand Final between Lang Lang and Buln Buln. Lang Lang enters undefeated, looking to complete the season as premiers champions. The Tigers’ consistency and defensive strength have been a feature of their year, but Buln Buln comes in with momentum after a strong finals run. The Lyrebirds will back themselves to cause an upset if they can restrict Lang Lang’s shooters and keep the contest tight for four quarters.

In the 15 & Under decider, Catani will look to maintain their unbeaten streak and claim the premiers champions title. The Blues have been dominant all year, but Poowong has shown they can push them, particularly with their ability to finish games strongly. Much will depend on Catani’s ability to settle early and control the midcourt, while Poowong will need to pressure consistently across the court to find a way past the favourites.

The 17 & Under Grand Final will see Longwarry, also undefeated, take on Lang Lang. The Crows’ attack has been difficult to stop all year, and they will start as favourites to add the premiers champions title. The Tigers, however, bring confidence from a strong finals campaign and will look to apply defensive pressure early to disrupt Longwarry’s rhythm and keep the game alive into the final quarter.

Ellinbank’s incredible record continues in the C Grade Grand Final, with the Eagles reaching yet another decider. Since 2014 they have featured in every Grand Final, winning multiple titles and building an unmatched legacy. Standing in their way is Trafalgar, who have impressed through the finals and will be buoyed by their Preliminary Final win over Neerim South. With Traf’s shooters in strong form and Ellinbank’s defensive pedigree, this promises to be a battle right to the wire.

The B Grade clash brings together Ellinbank and Neerim South. The Eagles have dominated this level for over a decade, with premierships in 2011–2013, 2016, 2017, and a remarkable run of three straight flags from 2022–2024. Neerim South, however, have built steadily through the year and bring momentum into the decider. The midcourt battle will be crucial, with both sides boasting game-changers who can turn the contest in an instant.

With six Grand Finals across the day and premiers-champion honours on the line, everything is at stake in what has been one of the best seasons of netball the EDFNL has seen. Trafalgar will provide the perfect stage for a day of fierce competition, drama, and celebration of the game.

NEERIM-NEERIM SOUTH CLUB NOTES

The day we have all been waiting for – Grand Final Day!

As a club, we are so proud of our 2025 home and away season, and all our teams that have had a finals series this year. It is great to see the club building and growing and the success is a bonus!

Last weekend the club went to Lang Lang to support our C grade girls in their match against Trafalgar. Previously in the season, our girls had come up against the Bloods twice and were unsuccessful in claiming a win. They matched up against them again in Round 1 of finals and claimed victory. It was inevitable they would meet again at some point and the game would be thrilling – and that it was. Trafalgar got the jump early, with a four-goal lead at the end of the first quarter. By half time, the scores were moving between a draw and 1-2 goals up for Trafalgar. Moving into the third quarter, much stayed the same and it was a goal the difference. Heading into the fourth it was anyone’s game! The intensity rose and the fight for that grand final spot was evident in both teams play. With around 3 minutes to go, Trafalgar got an important intercept and took the lead by 2 goals. The siren went and the final score was 30-32 with Trafalgar moving onto the grand final. We are so proud of our girls’ efforts and their season. Best on was awarded to defender Nari Abrahams who did a mountain of work on Trafalgar’s integral GS.

On Sunday, the junior league presentation was held. Congratulations to our Under 17s player Rianna Jinnette who won the leagues runner up Best and Fairest! Ri has been an outstanding addition to our club in 2025. She also plays for the B grade side and will be seen alongside the B grade team today! We would also like to congratulate our netball top vote getters: Skye Black and Charlotte Muir (15s) and Lola Lord (13s). In the football, we would like to congratulate our top vote getters – Tait Cornwall, Ollie Bain and Aidan

Franz (16s) and Declan Shortis, Kyson Cornwall and Ash Mounsey (18s). Our Junior Club was also awarded ‘Most Disciplined Junior Club’ which is a fantastic achievement for us!

On Monday, the seniors league presentation was held. A huge congratulations to Emily Robb on winning the C Grade Best and Fairest; Adam White for winning runners up Best and Fairest; Elly Radford and Alanah Williams on making the top 10 leaderboard for B Grade; Christie Urie on A Grade Best and Fairest; Christie Urie, Mia Muir and Kim Edwards on making netball team of the year; Kody Wilson, Tom Muir, Lachlan Bambridge and Mason McGarrity on making football team of the year; Kody Wilson for winning Seniors Best and Fairest and MVP. In addition, our club was awarded League Club Championship Award and Netball Club Championship Award.

And now we look to TODAY!! We are SO proud to support our B, A and Seniors teams in the big dance!! B grade has been building for the past four seasons and expanding on their finals experience. B grade has not been in a grand final for at least twenty years! They have had an outstanding season – defeating Ellinbank who had been unbeatable for many years! Today they fight for the cup against Ellinbank, in what should be an outstanding game. Following this, we have our A grade team! They have had some great success over the last four years – winning 2/3 Grand Finals against Nilma Darnum. For a fourth year in a row, they battle against the Darno’s for the cup in what will be a ripper game! Alongside the netball, we have our Seniors playing in their 3rd grand final in the last four years. Our boys have had an immaculate season and face off against Trafalgar today. We look forward to supporting all our teams and hope to be taking three cups back to Neerim South!

A warm Trafalgar welcome to all league clubs, sponsors, life members and supporters as we host the 2025 EDFNL Grand Final Day.

We’ll start by saying a huge thank you to our own club members, players and supporters who have volunteered their time in the preparation, and in today’s hosting of the big day. It’s been a real community commitment and your efforts have not gone unnoticed.

And to top it all off we have 3 teams representing Trafalgar, the Seniors and Reserves footballers and the C Grade netballers. Best of luck to all coaches and players.

It’s also the right moment to thank our huge number of volunteers who have contributed to a very successful 2025 season. Whether it’s canteen duty, red coat, timekeeping, mowing or linemarking the grounds, sweeping changerooms, Thursday night meals, water carriers, trainers, umpiring etc, the list is endless. Our president Jamie has done all of these roles at some point and we all need to say a huge thanks to him, he has led a hard-working committee fantastically.

Well attended Junior and Senior Vote Counts and Presentations were held this week at the Warragul Downtowner and Logan Park respectively.

Thank you to both venues for their hospitality for what were great events celebrating the on field achievements of players.

JUNIORS

Congratulations to Wesley Scott from Trafalgar, Under 16s and Buln Buln’s Callum Kennedy, Under 18s who were awarded the 2025 EDFNL Best & Fairest.

SENIORS

Neerim South’s Kody Wilson made it back to back Alf Walton Medals.

Isaac Caroleo from Trafalgar claimed the Arthur Pollard Award as the highest junior vote getter in seniors.

Lang Lang’s Jesse Hand took home the Gerald Heenan Medal, winning the Reserves Best & Fairest.

INN EDFNL CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS

Two points are awarded for each win in each grade of football and netball across the season. Neerim South finished on 233 points with consistent performances across all grades. This is highlighted by their representation in Senior football and A and B Grade Netball on Grand Final Day. The award was accepted at the Senior Presentation night by President Connor Perry and Vice President Meg Ferguson. Thank you to the Robin Hood Inn for their continued support of the EDFNL.

The Neerim South Football Netball Club have claimed the 2025 Netball Club Championship. A and B Grade will compete for the Premiership in today’s Grand Finals. The Neerim South Football Netball Club were recipients of the Most Disciplined Club Award - Junior. Buln Buln Football Netball Club again retained the Most Disciplined Club Award - Senior. This award is voted on by the umpires, and clubs are scored on their discipline on the field, from the coaches box and from the spectators.
