Cultivate a love for learning rooted in Christ In each of our programs, your child is seen as a unique learner, created with a purpose and for a purpose. Preschool 3, Pre-Kindergarten 4, Learning through Literature, and PreKindergarten 5 provide meaningful exposure to foundational academic skills, foster social development, and focus on Biblically integrated learning to nurture your child's academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development. Our dedicated teachers foster a loving, nurturing environment where the whole child can grow and thrive. PRESCHOOL 3 (PS3) Your little one is changing every day—evidence of the strong foundation you are carefully laying for your child’s physical, spiritual, social, emotional, and academic growth. You want a preschool program that will come alongside your child and partner with your family, building on the Christ-centered foundation set at home, while igniting a lifelong love of learning, caring about others, and serving Jesus. A Typical Day in PS3 | Each day begins with child-guided activities, fine-motor challenges, and a wide variety of dramatic play opportunities. Aligned with the latest research in education and child development, our program and activities are both engaging and purposeful, and designed to nurture and disciple your child. Our guidedplay approach is integrated into the introduction of the alphabet, basic math concepts, and other foundations for later learning. Bible stories and memory verses are a favorite part of each day and biblical principles guide your child's social interaction and the development of self-regulation. Activity is a big part of each day with many movement experiences woven throughout every area of learning. Preschool 3 student specials include Physical Education and Music.

PRE-KINDERGARTEN 4 (PK4) CORE DISCIPLINES Biblical Studies Through examining the lives and testimonies of Bible characters, students begin to apply God’s truths to their daily lives as they memorize scripture, participate in praise and worship, and retell Bible stories. Language and Literacy Students are immersed in print and language throughout the day to strengthen early literacy skills. Through meaningful and purposeful phonological awareness activities, students begin to develop the foundational skills for lifelong literacy success. Mathematics Students utilize learning centers, manipulatives, and group discussion as they discover patterns found in God’s world and develop number sense. Students experiment with measurement and data collection, as they apply critical thinking and problem solving to real-life situations.

Science Fueled by your child’s natural curiosity, our science units offer opportunities for exploration of God’s creation including the five senses, life cycles, and the majesty of the solar system. Light tables, sensory bins, and water tables allow for experimentation with sink or float trials, play with volume, and mixing colors. Social Studies Students explore their community as well as the various roles of community helpers that touch their lives. Local fire fighters, dentists, and others make visits to the classroom. Students recognize that God has created each one of us in a unique and wonderful way to serve and glorify Him. Additional Disciplines Include: Fine and Gross Motor Skills Pre-Printing Skills Pre-Kindergarten 4 student specials include Music, Physical Education, and Art.

LEARNING THROUGH LITERATURE (LTL) As an addition to the 3-day-a-week Pre-Kindergarten 4 program, Learning Through Literature provides 2 additional days of enrichment and extension with a literacy focus. This one-of-a-kind program, developed by a faculty member specifically for Eden Christian Academy, meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays. LTL builds literacy skills through engaging, hands-on activities. Designed to make books come to life for pre-readers, this course focuses on preeminent children's authors and their works. Your child will be introduced to the elements of a story as well as using story to build "literacy" in language arts, math, social studies, and Bible. Opportunities for dramatic play and creative expression ensure your child will have so much fun "learning through literature," they will forget they're learning at all!

PRE-KINDERGARTEN 5 (PK5) MUST BE 5 YEARS OLD BY DECEMBER 1ST CORE DISCIPLINES Biblical Studies Beginning with Creation through Jesus and His apostles, students will examine the lives of the major Bible characters and explore the Biblical truths evidenced in their lives. Students will have the opportunity to learn Biblical lessons from 6th grade Bible Buddies once each month in addition to the classroom Bible memorization, praise and worship time, extension of Bible stories through art, crafts, and retelling. Language and Literacy Students participate in a multi-sensory, phonics based exploration of language through read alouds, story retelling where they will explore literature, developing phonological awareness, strengthening vocabulary, and comprehension skills. Through dramatic play, puppetry, and early journaling, students will learn about story elements while being exposed to a variety of literature. Mathematics The use of math games including memory, board, and building based games, are designed to develop problem solving, self regulation, and task persistence, while allowing students to enhance foundational math skills. Graphing, patterns, number sense, measurement, and data collection allows students to strengthen problem solving and critical thinking in a fun, hands-on way.

Science Science helps students appreciate the intricacies of God's creation. Students will have weekly STEAM class with opportunities for innovation, creation and exploration. Classroom themes are used to explore concepts such as volume, states of matter, weather and lifecycles each with a Biblical backdrop focusing on our Creator and His creation. Social Studies Students will explore family, what it means to be a part of God's family, and their own family as well as each student's role within the school, church, and local communities. Through studying community, students will learn about various community helpers, their jobs, and their impact on the student's daily lives exploring community through special visitors, dramatic play, games, and literature. Additional Disciplines Include: Fine and Gross Motor Skills Printing Skills Pre-Reading Skills Pre-Kindergarten 5 student specials include Music & Movement, Physical Education, Art, STEAM, and Spanish. Students will have supervised lunch, recess, and rest periods as part of their day.
