Pure: Free from contamination, free from sin or unrighteousness. The heart is the center or core of a person. From the heart come the issues of life. It pumps blood, which is life throughout the entire body. The blood feeds and nourishes each and every cell. This is true whether we are talking physically or spiritually. The heart is the seat of the Holy Ghost. The law of God is written in the heart. Therefore it can be said that the heart is the most holy place of a person. Our body is called a temple. In that temple the heart is the holiest of holies. If the heart is pure, then goodness and righteous is sent throughout the body. The actions of a person, whether sin or righteousness is a reflection of what is in their heart. The heart is made pure by the law of God. The word of God like pure water washes away all sin. It is through belief and sincere faith in God, obedience and sacrifice that our hearts are made pure. When we are one with God then we have within us the blood of Christ. It is the blood of the New Testament that purges us from our sin. A person with a pure heart is obedient to God. Proverbs 20:9, “Who can say I have made my heart clean, I am free from sin?”
