Every quarter our church donates to various organizations throughout the community. Why is this an important work? The bible teaches us that we should give unto the poor. “For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land,” (Deut. 15: 11) When we give alms, we fulfill the spirit of poorness and the spirit of mercy, showcasing love and kindness to our neighbors and following the example that Christ left for us.

As we know, our Lord and Savior used parables as a means to teach His people. I love parables. It helps me to visualize the word of God in terms that I can understand and I think thats exactly the point. One of my favorite parables is about the mustard of seed of faith. Let us review the scripture in Matthew 17: 20, “….If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” Now we of course know that a mustard of seed is very tiny. What does this scripture teach us? It helps us to understand that even a small amount of faith can give you the strength to overcome the biggest of challenges. These challenges and trials that we face each day are our mountains. At first glance, the mountain seems overwhelming and too large to face but experience teaches us that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us

My mountain is depression and anxiety. Each day I have to fight to push this mountain out of the way. I have my common remedies through medicine and exercise but the most important remedy is through my faith in God. I learned through daily study of the scriptures, prayer and meditation that anxiety is not in control, God is. These days, I feel more joy than not. My conviction is stronger and I have learned that God will teach you to order your life in all facets. When you have order in your life, be it at home, at work and church, the chaos of sin flees and the calm strength of faith ushers in.
So let us hold onto our faith that little mustard seed. Let it be nourished with the light of Christ and the rains of the Holy Spirit, that it may blossom as a tree that never wavers and is always rooted in Christ Jesus. Amen
For my Lord sayeth forget those things that are behind and remember those things before us. As darkness subsides, a new day emerges. The sweet echos of spring change the course of my direction. Warm breezes caress my face, then precious rays of light illuminate the way. I am pressed to look east. My focus is unrelenting. I step closer and closer to a change and a brand new beginning. I am no longer dust. I cast off this flesh that wreaks of shame. Lord rid me of these ashes. Give me a crown and purge me with your flames. For a new day dawns and darkness is a thing of the past. So I say amen, I am saved at last.

What does “new” mean? The dictionary defines it as to be made fresh, to revive or rebuild. It is also a beginning, the point at which something arises or a source.
Abib is the beginning of months. God told Moses, “This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.”
Exodus 12:2. Every month begins with the new moon. The moon marks time as well as events. But this “making things new” is also telling us a story over and over again, every month and every year. It reminds us that God is going to make us new. And in fact, in Christ all things are new. II Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
I am thankful to know that if I am in Christ, because I obey Him, then I am a new person. I don’t have to be in constant grief over my old life and my past sins. I have buried the old man and am born again. A new moon represents the new birth. And it represents immortality. New things are good. It is a refreshing and a revival. This is what baptism points to. Baptism is how we are washed clean and purified by God’s word. When you are washed clean and purified you are made new. I was told in a dream: For the month Abib, I have been purified by the Holy Ghost.

When you become a new person then you can receive the wine of the new testament. As Christ told us in the parable you cannot put new wine in an old bottle but new wine must be put in a new bottle. The new wine is Christ’s blood and it is eternal life. We cannot remain in our old sinful ways and be full of the blood of Christ and have eternal life. When we obey God and keep His commandments God’s word is in us. God is in us. God is life. He is eternal life. Therefore we have the eternal life in us now.
Look within yourself and see. You know that this is where the sun of righteousness will first rise. He rises within your heart. We will change from the inside first. We must become new. We must have a new heart and a new mind. We are still living in the time of darkness. It is still winter. But winter doesn’t last forever. Spring comes every year. Spring comes in Abib at the beginning of the year. Happy New Moon! Happy Birthday! And Happy New Year!

When my sister approached me to write this column I thought about how to approach it. I will not pretend that I understand huge swaths of prophecies or mysteries of God. There have been many times I have read something in the Bible and I simply did not understand. Other times I will hear something in church and I cannot comprehend it. Whenever this happens, I repeat within myself I must keep the laws of God and the testimonies. I then quickly add that I must believe in Lord Jesus to be saved. This is not to refute a prophecy or dismiss anyone.

I say it to keep myself grounded because I know it is those things that will allow me to qualify for salvation. It’s that desperate need to qualify that causes me to watch the west window. Just like the apostles who asked Lord Jesus about the signs of His coming and Ezra asked about God the Father about what would happen in the last days; we too are wondering how close are we to leaving this world.
In our church we have discussed the fall of Babylon in Jeremiah 50 and 51. There has been reviews of prophesies in the book of 2 Esdras concerning this nation and the war in the Middle East. In the book of Daniel it was prophesied that knowledge would increase and in 2 Thessalonians it prophesied that people would become delusional and believe lies.
This is what we know. The first rumor written in Jeremiah 51: 46 came and caused havoc six years ago. There was global panic, it drained the coffers of the nations and caused people to lose confidence in many institutions. We are waiting for the next rumor because of the violence and upheaval it will cause. During that time we saw people willingly believe lies and conspiracy theories (strong delusion to believe a lie) to the point that people were willing to attack the capital and try to overturn an election. People were hoping for more peace after President Biden but instead became frustrated at the sluggish economy, higher prices and sodomy being forced fed to them. The sodomy hit new heights when sodomites stripped some of their clothes at the White House and some aids engaged in evil acts in the capital building (they televised it).

This allowed Donald Trump to be reelected and on day one he began to dismantle much of the federal government and challenge constitutional norms. The Federal government and those constitutional norms were discussed in II Esdras 11 and 12 (as the big head of the eagle). He has also caused many global powers and allies to lose confidence in a US central system that was established since WW2 by embarrassing their leaders, raising tariffs on their products and defunding the UN. This is an essential development. Why? In order for the world to be willing to change to a different system of governance they must lose faith in the current one.

He has accelerated their frustration at the US by attacking Iran. He believed it would be like Venezuela; in which he could kidnap the leader and steal the oil. However Iran is different. Even though he was able to kill many of its leaders, the regime has continued to stay in power. They have shut down a vital conduit known as the Strait of Hormuz. This strait is responsible for the transport of 20% of the world’s oil and liquid natural gas. Oil is the life blood of the economy. Natural gas is often used for fertilizer and industrial manufacturing. Iran is attacking the US via jeopardizing the global economy.
This war is costing this nation nearly a billion a day and it is very unpopular among its citizens. It is placing hardship on farmers, manufacturers, the supply chain, and its feared that it may cause a major global recession.
Due to the unpopularity the Trump administration is trying its best to censor news (another attack against the constitution) to prevent people from knowing how badly this war is going. However, because knowledge has increased, people are still able to obtain information via other nations’ media outlets and social media platforms that this government cannot control.

The creation of A.I. began in the early 50's before John McCarthy officially started the field of “artificialintelligence” at Dartmouth College in 1956. McCarthy is known as the father of A.I. He coined its name.
The new technology didn't come into the spotlight until the past few years. Current A.I. companies have built on the work that engineers, technicians, mathematicians created decades ago.
A.I. is a technology that is fundamentally changing and replacing not only older technology, but many aspects of how society operates. More people are relying on A.I. and some don't even know they use it.
This change is taking place at warp speed. Many of us remember the days before the internet existed. If we wanted information we had to go to the library, read books, magazines or watch documentaries.
Google has replaced the traditional search bar with A.I. Now, instead of hundreds of websites popping up. A.I. answers your search with 1 page of information. If you choose to look for websites anyway. You're presented with only a few. The consolidation of information can seem convenient. It also does not give the user choice over all the information they may want to consume. The mother of our church said that 10% of A.I. will be for good.
A.I. has been beneficial. It can accomplish tasks at lightning speed. It can help write personal documents and make resumes look very professional. It can organize files and make appointments. It can be used to professionally create music and artwork.
A.I has helped to create medicines and vaccines. It helped average people access information from the legal system. People have even tried to defend themselves in court using A.I. as a lawyer.

All of these benefits didn't come cheap. Global A.I. investments as of 2026 are 1.6 trillion. $471 billion is from the U.S.

This is a potential weak spot in our economy if A.I. doesn't make a return on investments. The top 7 companies said to be heavily supporting the economy are known as the magnificent 7. They are deeply invested in A.I. It remains to be seen whether A.I. investment will be a financial success. A leading A.I. expert Geoffrey Hinton says in order for A.I. to be profitable, human labor must be replaced. We can see huge efforts being made to create humanoid robots that can replace blue collar jobs. The transition from traditional human labor to relying on humanoid robots is said by experts to be decades away. What we’ve seen so far, has been large white collar layoffs. Amazon alone laid off 16,000 white collar jobs this year. totaling 30,000 since 2024. Some experts believe the U.S. and global economy are in danger because of disproportionate investments in A.I.
A.i. has been used in dark and controversial ways.
• It has been used to simulate “conversations with Jesus.”
• Been used to mimic dead relatives' personalities. Has been caught being racist, and biased against women.
• Has lied and also intentionally concealed data, (known as a.i. hallucinations).
• A.I. can influence behavior, beliefs and politics.
• People have dated and married A.I.
• Can imitate people's voices.
• Has been used to create fake videos including people stealing from stores.

• Been used to create lascivious photos and videos of both adults and children.
This list only includes some of the dark uses of A.I. And now important organizations are trusting A.I. to execute very complex tasks that require elements of thinking that only humans can do. Despite the good it can do, A.I is not a person. It has no sense of morality or ethics other than what it was programmed to imitate. Thats why some forms of A.I can exhibit racism and others do not. Also, organizations relying on A.I. can diminish the responsibility factor. Who can be blamed for mistakes or bad judgment? The responsibility could be put on A.I. hallucinations.
Society has not yet experienced the full impact of what this powerful technology is capable of. We live in perilous times. We’re in a new era. Let's continue to watch.

Let me first say how thankful I am to be a part of this beautiful church that God has so ordained and blessed since its inception in May, 1978. It is my honor to serve God and to serve as minister to each of you. I encourage you brethren to hold fast unto your faith and remember the foundation upon which we are built, the commandments and testimony of Jesus Christ. The new year serves as a new opportunity to bring forth our very best
offering unto God. Never be complacent and strive for a 100 fold for you can never do too much for God. And remember that what some may perceive as weakness is instead your inner strength that is renewed by the Spirit day in and day out. We will not remain flesh. We have the hope of the promise that lives in us. So let that promise be the driving force that keeps you going. I pray that the new year brings forth abundant blessings, growth and strength for our church. And remember that I love each of you and am here to help and support you all. Go forth in grace and let the word of God always be seen in you. Amen.
