Family Weekend
From the Frericks 5k to the Murder Mystery Dinner, Flyers of all ages came together September 18-20, 2015 to enjoy a weekend jam-packed with family fun. Students enjoyed showing their parents, siblings, extended family, and friends around campus and enjoyed all UD has to offer! Special activities included a sushi making class, casino night, cosmic bowling, the Cirque De Kramer, Flyers Athletics games, UD arts performances, and campus tours.

POPE VISITS USA
Pope Francis visited the United States from September 22-27, 2015. UD students traveled to Philadelphia to see the Pope in person, while many gathered in the Hangar to watch his visit from the comfort of our campus.
Christmas on Campus
Something magical happens at the University of Dayton every December 8. The Feast of the Immaculate Conception, a Catholic Feast day, means the transformation of this college campus into a Christmas Wonderland. Hundreds of children from the local community come onto campus where UD students show them an amazing evening of performances, characters, trains, and activities. This is one day when campus truly comes together as one in the Christmas spirit.

Dayton celebrates the 20th anniversary of the peace accords that officially ended the Bosnian War.
More than twenty years have passed since the deal that settled a three year long war that claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people. The Dayton Accords, negotiated on November 21st 1995, established peace between Bosnian Muslims and Croatians and the Socialist Federation of Yugoslavia, from which they were each seeking independence. On November 19th, 2015, Bill Clinton visited the University of Dayton River Campus to recognize the city of Dayto'n for the role it played in declaring peace for Bosnia, and encouraged others to do the same.

I LOVE UD MONTH
February 14-28 signaled I Love UD month; a time for alumni, faculty, staff, and students to come together and share in their love of UD. This annual campaign is all about giving. Alumni gave hundreds of messages of support to UD's first-year students. Students gave thousands of shirts to St. Vincent de Paul. The UD community came together and donated thousands of dollars to scholarships for upperclass students who may not otherwise be able to return to UD.

OMA is a resou rce for students on campus that connects students to academic support, social programs, and physical space In addition to support for domestic multicultural students, OMA offers a variety of initiatives including Cultural Heritage Month programming , REAL Topics, Sister to Sister and Brother to Brother, Mentoring opportunities, student organization advising , and is a co-sponsor of the UD Culture Fest.

Founded in 1917, UD's ROTC program is one of the oldest in the country. The program works to shape leaders and create better citizens - in and out of the classroom. The cadets undergo daily training, fitness tests , and first-aid certifications. Their hard work prepares them to be the best leaders they can be for our country and our world.

The Varsity 8+ boat took first place in the petite final at the 2016 A-10 Rowing Championship and earned second place medals at the 2016 Lubbers Cup and the 2016 Cincinnati Regatta. Senior Erin Mohney was named First Team AllAtlantic 10, selected to the A-10 All-Academic Team and was one of Dayton's 2016 Presidential Scholar-Athletes.

Who doesn't love a para de? POD auxiliaries and cymbal line get hyped for the annual Labor Day parade through the city of Kettering, Ohio.

After a short hiatus. marching band director Tremon Kizer comes back with full force and helps lead the Pride of Dayt o n through a successfu l m archi ng season. POD is made of brass players, percussionists and auxiliary m embers that travel across the Midwest to bring their love of performing and bring music to life to the Flyer faithful.

"Dr. Dan" Curran stepped down from his role as University of Dayton president this year after serving 14 years. Dr. Curran was the University's 18th president and first lay leader. From the basketball arena to the student neighborhood, Dr. Curran really was the students' president. During Curran's tenure, the University expanded in every way imaginable, student population, physical campus layout, campus renovations, and research dollars. Dr. Curran oversaw the acquisition of the River Campus from NCR, the development of the UD China Institute, and the foundations of the Hanley Sustainability Institute. Dr. Spina, UD's 19th president, sure has big shoes to fill!
