2023, celebrated
Falls fest
The OG Wiggles were a huge hit at Falls Festival, held in Yelgun over the New Year’s period. Pictured below was The Falls’ Welcome to Country ceremony (left) and happy punters (right). Photos Tao Jones
On the last night of 2022, the best place for families was the Soul Street event in Byron Bay. With plenty of entertainment, light shows, food trucks and a chilled evening vibe, it was a terrific Council event to help everyone say goodbye to the year. While the stage pumped out great music from six local acts, Brisbane’s Sparkle Society had a troupe of roving performers to keep revelers of all ages entertained with colours flying across Dening Park at Main Beach, including the rainbow hoola hoops of Latonya Sparkle. Lead sniffer, Amy Taylor, from Amyl And The Sniffers, is a citizen of the world these days, but she grew up in Mullum, charming customers at the local IGA. Now she’s globe trotting with her famous band and has just performed at Falls fest. Photo Jeff ‘Sniff Snort’ Dawson
