The Alexandria football team (1-4) capped off homecoming week in front of a packed crowd at AAHS on Sept. 30 by playing a close game against Brainerd in a game that the Warriors won in the closing minutes by a 15-14 final. Alexandria led 14-0 early in the fourth quarter. Junior running back Andrew Flaten had a touchdown run, and sophomore kicker Daniel Jackson added two field goals of 25 and 52 yards. His 52-yarder tied him for the third longest field goal ever made in Minnesota State High School League history. The Warriors rallied over the final seven minutes of the game. Senior quarterback Marcello Getty threw two touchdown passes, and Brainerd added an Alexandria safety to secure the 1-point win to improve to 4-2 on the season.

Tai Auran and Brynn Kosters, seniors at Alexandria Area High School, were chosen as this year’s homecoming king and queen. The coronation ceremony took place Monday, Sept. 26, 2022, at the Performing Arts Center at the school.
