February was a powerful month of ministry for Covenant Youth of Alaska! We were blessed to gather young adults for our CYAK Young Adult Retreat at Big Lake, where we explored the theme of identity, asking the question: “Who am I?” In a world filled with conflicting messages about identity, we looked to Christ as our foundation. Through teaching, discussion, and community, we reminded each other that our identity is found in being children of God. Jesus is our rock, and in Him, we find clarity and purpose. In addition to the retreat, in March, CYAK youth leaders have been actively connecting with young people in Hooper Bay, Elim, White Mountain, and Nome. These visits are vital opportunities to build relationships, encourage faith, and support young leaders as they navigate life’s challenges. Being present in these communities allows us to walk alongside youth and young adults, helping them grow in their faith and leadership. This past weekend, we also hosted a Young Adult Retreat at Alaska Christian College in Soldotna. Our focus was on some of the key questions young adults wrestle with: How do we figure out direction in life? How do we hear God’s voice as we make decisions? What does it mean to walk in relationships in a healthy way? With so many competing voices coming from social media, entertainment, and the internet, it is more important than ever to provide a space for young people to process these questions in the light of God’s truth. The young adult years are a crucial time for faith formation, and CYAK is committed to showing up and being present in the lives of young people. This ministry would not be possible without the dedication of volunteers and the generosity of those who support us financially. We are so grateful for each person who invests in this work.
