Sale Report
The 2019 SD Source Simmental Sale was held on Saturday, December 21st at the Ramada Inn, Mitchell, SD. This was an all video sale and the cattle were housed at the Rocky Creek Livestock Facility. The SD Banquet was held Friday night along with the annual meeting. Many awards were given out to some very deserving people. • Breeder of the Year: Jim Benda Family • Promoter of the Year: Gayle Filipek • SD Scholarship Winners of $500: Tessa Pederson & Mitchell Schmidt • SDSA Heifer Grant Recipients: Dusty Rose, Austin Rose, Madison Dragt, Ryder Olsen, Brady Beitelspacher, Chesney Fuks, Emmalee Scott, Alyssa Scott, Charlie Cody and Bennett Talsma. • Another highlight was a $5,000 check awarded to the SD Junior Association from the Martin Trudeau Ins. Thank you from the breeders involved in the SD Source Sale. It was perfect weather to have a sale and visit with friends of this Simmental breed!
