2019 National Western Stock Show The One Sale Monday, January 21, 2019 • Denver, CO The 26th Annual “The One” Simmental Sale was held in the Livestock Center Auction in the Yards on Monday January 21th, 2019 during the National Western Stock Show. This event attracts livestock enthusiasts from across the US and Canada that gather in the Mile High City for fresh genetics to propel their breeding programs. Each year, prior to the beginning of the auction, the Power Simmental Event takes place where breeders nominate a bull or female as the Power Simmental candidate. Breeders buy a ticket to evaluate the cattle and one ticket is drawn for that lucky ticket holder to win a bull or female. The lucky ticket holder this year was Norm Banks from Utah and the animal selected was SFI Movin Ahead F11 from Schaake Farms. Schaake Farms received $10,000 for being selected. Another highlight for the auction is the donation animal for the American Simmental Foundation with proceeds going to the American Junior Scholarships of Silver and Gold Merit awards. This year, the female “Rocking P Love Me E100” donated by the Phillips Family and Bob MacGregor was won by GB Cattle, TX. The following breeders raised $45,000 for the merit program:
