Since the last time we sat down to write this letter, there have been quite a bit of a change for us consignors. Our families continue to grow and time seems to go quicker and quicker. We still managed to put together a set of cattle that we believe the most discriminating cattlemen would admire. Each year, we say that the quality is the best to date which we believe holds true again this year. We continually are searching for cattle and genetics to enhance our herds. There is a lot of blood, sweat, and tears that goes into our ET, AI, and breeding programs, but as our quality of cattle has increased significantly over the past few years, we find it all to be worth it. We feel there is something for everybody in this set. Over the summer, we had great reports from satisfied customers in the bull and bred division and had winners on the county and state level in our open heifer division. We welcome all customers, new and old, to call with any questions or to come out and see the cattle in person. There are always a lot of familiar faces on sale day, which we truly appreciate. It is because of your continued support that we can be in an industry that we love and offer these cattle. Thank you for your interest in our sale. We look forward to seeing you on sale day! Every year, our open heifers sold on the sale are eligible for a futurity show held mid-summer at the Ruth Farm following the sale. With $1500 of total winnings, this is a very worthwhile event. The winnings can then be redeemed at the following year’s sale as credit. The futurity is not limited to just 4-H and FFA members. It is open to anybody purchasing heifers at our sale. A few years back, we were searching for a female to add to our donor lineup and couldn’t have been more pleased to find LLSF Robins Blitz B936. She was the top selling heifer from Lee Simmental Farms Annual Sale in Missouri. She is backed by Rockin Robin, a cow that has left a huge impact in the breed with both AI sires and big time donors carrying her lineage. In her short time here this donor has exceeded our expectations and these two heifers are a great example of what she can produce. Lot 11 is a very complete blazed faced heifer by The Judge that carries a lot of her mothers characteristics. Deep sided, free moving and has plenty of power. She will be a fun one to show but I think the highlight in her life is what she will be as a producer down the road. Lot 12 is a ¾ blood heifer by Uprising that I truly believe can be a major player in the showring. Study her picture, she is great hooks to pins, has plenty of belly, and ties into an admirable front end. From a structural standpoint, she can get out and move and has a great set to her feet and legs. After her showing days are over, she will surely be a front pasture cow!
