We reach the end of what is sure to be the strangest and most frustrating year for weather extremes. It started like most winters do, with semi-normal snowstorms which quickly turned into the winter that never ended and by all accounts never did straighten out. Almost every part of the northern United States and Canada were caught between late Spring snowstorms, the coldest spring temperatures we have ever seen and our first ever snow in early October that blanketed thousands of acres of unharvested crops. But as farmers and ranchers go, we are a stubbornly resilient, determined race of people that when faced with adversity, we dig deep to find that can do spirit and persevere! The cattle market has been on a rising trend, gaining momentum and showing that those heavyweight Simmental calves that are punching the scales down are definitely fetching those top premium prices. We have been perfecting our building of our Purebred cowherd with a few main goals in mind. First off, keep producing the kind of individuals that have more frame to support the added extension and depth which allows our animals to bring more mass and structure to the table. Secondly to be extra attentive to the disposition level of our females and to the herd sires we select to pair our females with maintaining the highest degree of docility. And lastly, and one that has taken over thirty years to accomplish, being able to offer our consumers a majority of Homo Polled Individuals. With the exception of 2 bulls, our whole offering this year is verified by the American Simmental Association to be Homo Polled! Last year’s bull sale group had 9 bulls that were Hetro Polled, by next year’s sale we hope to be 100% Homo Polled. Our all video bull sale has proven to be an expert tool and huge asset accepted by our patrons due to its high degree of flexibility in allowing you the buyer to view, analyze, and bid all from the comfort of your cozy chair. We realize that with unpredictable and crazy weather conditions, it is not always a choice to hop in the vehicle and make a trip to South Dakota. General Information

Health: We at Hart Simmental have a complete herd health program which is managed by Dr. Tim Kruse and the Wetonka Vet Clinic. All bulls will be accompanied by health papers for shipment anywhere in the United States. They have been vaccinated for Rednose, P13, BVD, 7-way clostridial, Blackleg, BRSV, Haemophilus, and have had their booster shot at weaning. They have also been dewormed with Safeguard and poured with Ivomec. Dams of all bulls have been tested Johne’s free. Genetic Defects: All bulls selling are Arthrogryposis Multiplex (AM) Free, Neuropathic Hydrocephalus (NH) Free, and Contractural Arachnodactyly (CA) Free. Delivery: FREE DELIVERY anywhere on bulls purchased over $5,000. We will start delivery February 20 or we can keep the bulls until April 30. Any bull left here until April 30 must be picked up by the purchaser by that date. No exceptions. $50 off per head if you haul your bull sale day. Performance Information: All performance information will be posted on sale day for your inspection. Yearling Weights and Weight Per Day of Age will be available on all bulls selling sale day, and will be posted on the internet sale site as soon as complete. Volume Discount: There will be a volume discount given if you purchase 3 bulls, the discount will be 3%. 4 bulls will have a 4% discount and 5 or more bulls will be a 5% discount. Livestock Insurance: Insurance will be available sale day through Martin-Trudeau Insurance who offers loss of use and mortality. We don’t do a huge amount of embryo work due to the fact that our females all have the abilities to produce outstanding progeny on their own, but when the opportunity to purchase a flush from KS SIERRA R992- the dam of our own El Dorado at the Foxy Ladies female sale in Crawford NE, we jumped on it. We pondered on which of our herd sires would be the most suitable prospect and True Justice naturally jumped right into our head.
