Teague School of Nursing Receives

Grants to Address Nursing Shortage

East Texas Baptist University’s Teague School of Nursing has received two significant grants to bolster its efforts to address the critical nursing shortage and enhance nursing education. The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board awarded $322,236.33 in Nursing Shortage Reduction Program funds, while the East Texas Communities Foundation granted $11,237.26 from the Betty and Roy Erickson Grant for Nursing Fund.

The Nursing Shortage Reduction Program funds will be used to innovate simulation training, support faculty and student retention, enhance student recruitment efforts, and provide scholarships to nursing students. These strategic investments aim to strengthen ETBU’s ability to prepare skilled, compassionate nurses for the healthcare workforce.

Alumni Spotlight | Bryce Morrow

Mr. Bryce Morrow (’99) graduated from ETBU with a degree in Computer Information Systems. Morrow played an integral part in the early success of the ETBU Tiger Soccer program and is a member of the ETBU Athletic Hall of Fame for his standout career

After a stint in professional soccer, Morrow entered the corporate world and is currently the Chief Corporate Officer for The Beck Group in Dallas. Bryce is responsible for the majority of internal functions and leads a business unit focused on subcontracting. He is a proud family man, married to his wife LeAnne, and they have two teenage children, Mia and Ben Morrow shares, "I'm grateful for my time

and experience at ETBU. I learned how to grow up, manage time, and how to integrate my faith and spiritual life with my everyday life. Being surrounded by so many supportive people was a gift from God, and it allowed me to learn from them in a way that changed my life."

Attends International Conference

Eight students from East Texas Baptist University recently participated in the American Model United Nations (AMUN) International Collegiate Conference in Chicago, Illinois. Representing Norway, the delegation demonstrated their diplomatic acumen and preparation in one of the most highly regarded United Nations simulations in the nation. Read more.
