STRENGTHENING FAMILIES Strengthening Families is an evidence-based family skills training program designed for parents who want to improve family relationships and keep their children safe from alcohol and drug use. This multifamily group (more than 1 family attends) begins with parents and children all combined and then break out into their own groups. The last part of the group is a joint family session to practice what was learned.
When: Wednesdays February 4th - April 15th, from 4:30 pm - 7:00pm, for 11 weeks Where: Easterseals MORC Southfield Crescent Centre location (24445 Northwestern Hwy, Suite 100, Southfield, MI)
Topics explored include: Mindfulness Family bonding and togetherness Communication Behavior management Problem-solving Dealing with peer pressure and choosing healthy friendships Stress and anger management Monitoring and keeping kids safe And more!
Available for 10 families and dinner will be served! Almost half of participants have graduated therapy after completing Strengthening Families!
