SEEKING SAFETY GROUP A space for individuals struggling with addiction and trauma to find safe coping skills and manage triggers and emotions.

Seeking Safety is an evidence-based practice that can be helpful for anyone regarding coping skills, addiction, trauma, and more! You do not have to have PTSD or a substance use diagnosis to join this group! This group is also an open group format, meaning you can join at any time!

WHEN AND WHERE DOES THIS GROUP MEET? This group meets in person on Wednesdays from 2:00 - 3:30 PM at the Easterseals MORC Center Line location (6900 E. Ten Mile Rd. Center Line, MI 48015)! WHAT ARE THE PRINCIPLES OF SEEKING SAFETY? Safety: Safety is the priority! Help maintain safety in relationships, thinking, behavior, and emotions. Integrated Treatment: Address co-occurring addiction and trauma. Focus on Ideals: Help regain values and goals! 4 Content Areas: Learn about cognitive, behavioral, interpersonal, and case management content areas. Attention to Therapy Possesses: Focus on therapist’s own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how that plays a role in an individual’s treatment.
