MRT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: BRINGING PEACE TO RELATIONSHIPS Participants must complete 24 sessions in order to complete MRT DV. This will take approximately 6 months. A Certificate of Completion will be awarded upon successful completion of the MRT DV group.
What is the Bringing Peace to Relationships Group? The bringing Peace to Relationships is an evidence-based program using Cognitive Behavioral, Psychoeducation, and Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT). This group is offered to individuals who are court ordered/required to complete a Domestic Violence/Batterer Program. The group is also open to anyone needing to work on their coping skills to interrupt/ stop and/or prevent violence in relationships.
Participants can expect and are expected to: Learn the concepts and skills to address issues related with power control. Learn to address unhealthy role expectations in relationships, cycles of abuse and sociocultural factors including legal repercussions. Acquire tools-coping mechanisms to interrupt/stop and prevent violence in relationships. Take responsibility for their behaviors. Learn stress management skills to manage relationships.
Participants must use the required workbook, "Bringing Peace to Relationships.”
When and where does this group meet? Starts June 1, 2026. Group meets Weekly, in person only, on Mondays from 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM at the Easterseals MORC Location in Pontiac. (1685 Baldwin Ave, Suite 100, Pontiac, MI 48340)
